BIGFOOT ON "THE CURRENT RIVER" | (THEY WERE HUNTING) OZARK SCENIC RIVERWAYS [CAVE SPRING, MO]

  • Опубліковано 16 жов 2023
  • In this video, I interview James from Missouri who had a frightening Sasquatch experience while camping off of the banks of the current river near "cave spring" in the sunklands conservation area! The sunklands conservation area is the biggest conservation area in Missouri and one of the most remote areas in the Ozarks! From wild horses, elk, to cryptid size hogs it's no surprise why the sasquatch likes to hang out in these areas from time to time! These remote areas of Missouri usually have a lot of caves and springs! Thank you everyone for supporting the channel!

Grew in in St. Louis. 53 now and have spend my whole life fishing, camping, hiking Missouri and the Ozark National Scenic Riverways is my favorite. Been literally all around the perimeter of Sunklands but never in them. My buddy keeps mentioning it. Anyway, we had the exact same thing happen with a group of 4 deer. Lane Spring south of Rolla. Right at dusk, came crashing across Little Piney Creek. We were camped 100 feet from water. They came from opposite side and stopped downstream from us, in the wood, probably no more than 20 yards away. The all had gaze fixed on where they had run from and were motionless. They could absolutely see us and did not care or even look. Here's the kicker. I have a Rottweiler and my buddy has a Dogo Argentino. They were laying there side by side after eating dinner. They watched this this whole thing. And NEVER moved a muscle. My dog will go bananas after a deer, squirrel, etc. And that Dogo is wicked animal aggressive. They didn't so much as growl or bark at these deer. We hiked to the spring in the dark, about 30 minutes later and had 2 boulders chucked into the creek.

      Great story.
I have a friend north of
Licking that says they pass through his property.
I've seen what I can only describe as UFOs close to his place so I certainly can't rule out the likelyness of big foot creatures being in the area.
I remember when it was the Little Piney River. Lol

Boy that is quite a story, I would like to hear what he said to Miguel. I really want to hear all the noises that he's describing. And of course having your child there there's no wonder what your mind will do in a situation like that. But I think that they quit chasing the deer and stop their hunt because they saw the tent and knew there were people there... Because they are shy I don't think the majority of them are mean and vicious. If they were these boys this man and his son would not be here today to tell this story. So if they were meaning harm to attack them it would probably be the end of it. But I would say for the majority of everybody listening to this not to camp there at night.
God bless you all and take care and happy camping.❤

I'm really regretting not going further south to see that area (next time! but no camping LOL). What he said about the crowds is so correct. I once floated as a single canoe on a Monday in late August - it was a totally different river. We saw deer swimming across in front of us and so much other wildlife that avoids the river on weekends. Really loved this interview. Thanks!

I have fly fished the Barren fork creek several times. It is just inside of the Sunklands between Sinkin and Shanondale. Closest civilization is Echo Bluff which is a good 8 miles away as a crow flies. One of the most pristine areas I have ever been too in the country let alone Missouri. The area boasts some of the most rugged landscape anywhere in the state. For anyone to traverse anywhere not being a river, creek, or hiking trail would be near impossible. I myself have never had an experience near there but I can vouch for just how remote the area is. Not even a prayer or cell service. I have also been to cave spring and devils well and can attest that the general area is one of the wildest most remote areas in the state. Never been there alone thankfully. Grateful to always have some good buddy’s that are down for an adventure!

Few regions today preserve the wild and natural beauty of the Ozarks as well as Sunklands. Sunklands Conservation Area combined the former Sunklands-Burr Oak Basin Natural Area and Skunk Pond, Hartshorn, and Shannondale conservation areas with Kerr-McGee land.
Sunklands is valuable for its array of native plant and animal species. The area is the only known habitat in Missouri for monkshood, a showy purple wildflower.
Several upland ponds or sinkholes contain water and form a marshy area. The wetlands are rare and important homes to salamanders and other amphibians that require a fish-free habitat.
The area is managed with a sustainable ecological approach to multiple-use management. The management goal is to improve the overall health and vigor of the forest, woodland, and glade natural communities indigenous to the landtype association. The management will guide these natural communities to more ecological and biological stable conditions that will enhance productivity and value over time. Management techniques include prescribed fire, invasive species control, planting, selective and regeneration harvests. Other areas are set aside for old-growth habitat, and will not be actively managed by the Department.
With roughly 40,000 acres of public land, the Sunklands CA provides for a wide range of outdoor activities. These include nature viewing, bird watching, hiking, dispersed primitive camping, and hunting and fishing opportunities. Total Acres

Thank you for sharing your story, it was told so well that I could see the bank of the river and the canoe tied onto the bank next to the tent and campfire. You can also hear in his voice how excited he got and out of breath like he was right back there in the middle of this experience and you can’t fake that. We have the Ausable river here in Northern Michigan that goes through miles and miles of state and National Forest land with nothing for miles and in the summer it’s the same way here tons of people tubing down the river. It is only beautiful again when the trunk slammers go home. We also have a lot of Stealhead fishing on that river and the sightings of the Hairyman are frequent in the late summer and early spring here. Stay safe while you are out camping.

By the way you can clearly hear something tapping two sticks or something together. It almost reminds me of our wooden turkey call only tapping it together instead of rubbing it to make the call. If they are intelligent enough to hide from us they are surely intelligent enough to make communication devices.

I also love this area and like to canoe in the off season. I have talked about camping on the sandbar, but haven’t done it, because some friends told me a story about doing so. They were caught in a terrible storm, and lucky they didn’t drown. Flash floods happen frequently in this area, and their story was terrifying. I have heard many people talk about “Sasquatch”scares in this and close surrounding areas, though….. I never have. I just thought it was a remote and extremely beautiful area.

HELLO ! WHERE IS EVERYONE IN GHE COMMENTS FROM??
    I’m in SouthEast Kentucky,
    Hint- Highest point in Kentucky.
Grew up in the mountains, but it took over 40 years before I became a Knower,
So for the non believe, just know that almost all of us used to feel just like you do.
Then We See One or Three
and it really does change your whole outlook on life.
I think maybe they are the watchers, / fallen angels,
Sons if gods mated with daughters of man and their offspring were giants

Everyone use to think Bigfoot was a hillbilly unicorn and everyone laughed at the white people who talked about it, well I can tell you I’m a Southern California Mexican American from the big city , never hung out in the woods or mountains , but in 2003 while visiting my cousins in Washington state we stoped by the Colombia mountains and me and my siblings heard a Bigfoot gent and scream like a human being butchered . It was the most surreal thing I’ve ever experienced in my 43 yrs of life still haunts me to this day, it was dark we were walking in the woods not to deep in but that Bigfoot must have been no more than 100 feet away from us. Till this day me and my cousin return to the scene of the crime and look for these creatures and at 43 yrs old I’m still as terrified as I was back then.

That is terrifying. He seems to be an avid outdoorsman, so this makes it extra terrifying because he knows how things are supposed to sound at night. I have a good amount of experience with the outdoors and camping as well and have never heard bullfrogs make that type of sound. You can hear the terror in his voice when he tells his story. I wish we could hear more of the sounds he heard and things he saw!

On a corny note, maybe some of those noisier sasquatch were 'whack' jobs or they were having an exercise class: 1,2,3,4...1,2,3,4... Im glad he was able to share such a life changing experience with his son

And then he built this thing that he calls 'the coffin' and pulls it behind an ATV, which he then hides in to try and observe these creatures. I had a similar experience with vocalizations in Brown County State Park in southern Indiana in April 1977. It was a Sunday morning - I arrived at dawn at a small lake created by an earthen dam way back in this heavily wooded, hilly park. I started walking across the dam to go up a ridge where there was a trail that went around the lake and brought you back to the starting point. Halfway across over my left shoulder was a roaring scream - never heard anything like it before or since. It was like someone was screaming and roaring at the same time and it sounded big. It wasn't a cat sound and certainly not coyotes. I stopped and stood there a minute looking back to try and see what it was. After a minute or two I thought "Did I really hear that?" So I started walking again and the instant I took my first step there it was again. This time I was really rattled because it was obvious this roar was made in response to my movement. I stood there in the dawn light for fully 10 minutes trying to decide what to do - and that was a long 10 minutes. Finally I started off again and crossed the dam. I walked up to the trail around the lake but the forest that day was silent - no bird calls, no small mammal movement, no deer - nothing - just silence. I'm not saying it was a bigfoot because I saw nothing - but I have often wondered what that was.

I definitely enjoyed this, only a few hours drive from me too. What always confuses me, your hiking, or camping, or kayaking in a very wild and remote area, with known dangerous wildlife not having a firearm with you. Heck the most dangerous animal in my area is a wild dog, and I still carry for basic day hikes.

Look, I don't have any idea if what happened to me is Bigfoot. I never saw anything.
A few years ago, I was hiking a section of The Ozark Trail, near St. Louis. I had been working my way along as a solo hiker. Which means, I had to hike in as far as I could, camp, and then hike back to my car. It's kind of like hiking the whole thing twice.
One afternoon, I started getting hit by twigs, sticks, and small rocks. I couldn't figure out where they were coming from.
I'm not a city boy. I grew up in the forest. There's never been anything strange or spooky about it, for me.
But, I was getting hit by small debris for almost an hour. I would look, and there would be nothing. No sense of anything stalking either. It was as if something was just playing with me.
I haven't been able to go back there since then.
I actually bought a gun. Because, I thought if I had one, I could continue my journey on this trail. But, somehow, I know that this won't be enough.

I've traveled alot on those back roads growing up and never seen any but I'm sure they don't want to be found. But I'm sure James was in their territory and I'm glad he shared it. This is not the first time I have heard of deer hanging out with humans when the Bigfoot are around or after them. In fact it happened to me on my first ever day of deer hunting, Nov. 15, 1970 in Roscommon, County, Michigan. A doe came up to my ground blind and looked in on me. It was nervous, of course, and it would look back 50 yards or so to the heavy forest and back at me and back at the forest. This went on for maybe 2 minutes. I never heard anything from the forest and thought this was not normal deer behavior and then it moved on in opposite direction where it came from. About 8 years later in a different elevated 3 foot blind a half mile away I saw a Sasquatch, long distance, crossing a bog, muskege swamp that had made its way through 8 to 10 Uncles and cousins and my Father with out anyone else seeing it.

I can’t even imagine how scary tgst w be. When I was little we camped all over Humboldt County area in California. Willow Creek area. Would travel the road from Weaverville to McKinlyville on 299 so many times. This was the late 70’s early 80’s but I had no idea about Bigfoot at that time. It would surprise me if we did hear them. But just didn’t know it was one. We would even camp on the beaches on the ocean at that time. I grew up in eastern Washington and camped in the Casades and all over Washington and Oregon. Unfortunately we lived in a very rural area so tv was very sparse . So never heard if Bigfoot until high school. I now live in an area that has quite a few of sightings.

My 4th great grandfather, Henry W. Dingus, moved from VA to KY to teach school. Then moved to Missouri to teach and farm (1800's). GrPa Henry was out tending to livestock one morning when GrMa called him in for breakfast. She got no answer. She said it looked to have been some sort of struggle in the yard. Not far from the house it appeared to have been a fight with blood scattered around. There was even blood on the door step to the house. He was never seen, heard from, or found again. 1871..he was 37 years old. I don't know what really happened, but after listening here to your video got me thinking..what if..and who knows. There were lots undiscovered back then.
