@@fondupotafter Black Friday in 2019. I wanted to move back up to 4×4, and all they had were well optioned units that were in the low 40's, and didn't want to play. But they also had a cool looking 19 Silverado LD(18 body) LT/Z71 V8 dbl cab, that they came off $15k to $35k with heavy incentives, and drove it out for under $30k after trade equity negotiation.
did you notice a difference with the 35watt HID bulb? Did it melt anything. I have a 2018 GMC sierra and I guess these guys don't make a bulb for my truck.
I never noticed any issues running a 35watt HID. And yea, I wish LasFit would make something that fits a Sierra as well. I get a lot of messages asking that.
Did you have the morimoto D5S XB HID version before? I’m trying to find a good replacement for my 2017 Jeep renegade trailhawk with the HID’s mine came with the Phillips D5S and was looking at the morimoto D5S XB but man $350.00 isn’t cheap. My Phillips are working fine and they are bright I just want brighter and WHITER I drive a lot of country roads late at night.
I tried out the Morimoto D5S hids but didn’t like them. They are better than stock phillips d5s. But not as good as these Lasfit ones. I still have the Morimotos on a shelf somewhere. Send me an email and maybe we can work something out. Fondupotsgarage1@gmail.com
Will these work in a 17 Sierra with the hid bulbs? Really wanna go led but everything is saying Silverado only but I have same dang bulbs. Just don’t want the annoying warning light
They’ve bee. Working great. The fans aren’t very loud. But you can hear them when the vehicle shuts off they spin until the lights go out. Not bad though. Haven’t heard of those other bulbs. Then just use a 7pin to 4 pin adapter on the plug in the bumper for the trailer.
Are you still able to use the auto headlight feature. Im not able to on the morimoto d5s bulbs and have had really bad luck with the morimoto lights in general already had to have a new one sent to me under warranty and now the other one went out
@@fondupot thanks for the reply im going to try to get my money back on the morimoto lights and get this set i seen you had the same morimoto set as i do did you have issues with them on the auto light ?
Yea I had the Morimotos before. But I never had an issue with the auto light function. My biggest issue with those was the color being way too blue. The LasFits are much more white in color.
@@fondupot My morimotos would flash on and off and only one would come on. I just installed LED low beams from Diode Dynamics. $150.00 3 year warranty, designed specifically for Canyon. Exactly same size as stock halogen bulbs, Plug and play, no cutting or fitting.
In your description you list the GMC Sierra. I can testify that these bulbs do not fit the Sierra 1500 without modification. Maybe a HD because their headlights are different but not the half tons. The Sierra has a oval shaped shield inside and you have to turn the bulb instead of the plastic tab. You can not turn the flat LED because it hits this shield.

Well done video. Thoroughly described with excellent camera angles. Well done.

Probably still had the Colorado when you did this one, but now revisiting for Silverado.
Right on brother! When did you get rid of the Coly?

Nice! How’s that truck running. I just had the AC go out in my 2016. The manifold line from the compressor collapsed. It’s got 184k miles tho…
@@fondupot it's running fine. I only have just under 18k on it currently. Amazing how much you don't drive when you're unemployed.🤷♂️
Hi i have. 2018 chevy silverado 1500 ltz
Will these be perfect replacement from the factory ones led to led
Thank you
Very good tutorial 👍
Cheers thanks!
I understand lasfit recommends them for Silverado. But, do these bulbs fit any vehicle with a stock D5S?
Not that I know of. These are specifically made for the Silverado.

You like these over the morimoto’s?
Yes, 10x better. IMHO.
Looks good! Way brighter lol
Thanks! Yea it is for sure brighter!
How can I make these work on a Sierra with screw on dust covers?
I don’t think they are compatible.
When plugging in the dust cap fan into the truck wiring, did it click for you? It would not click for the life of me.
Honestly it’s been a while. I can’t recall. Do the lights work when you have them plugged in?
@@fondupot They’re working just fine
Then I’d say you’re good to go.
We're these the 6000k ones on the website correct?
Check video description for details.
Will these work in a 17 Sierra with the hid bulbs? Really wanna go led but everything is saying Silverado only but I have same dang bulbs. Just don’t want the annoying warning light
Unfortunately no. Only Fits Silverado
How are the bulbs still holding up? Do the fans make a lot of noise? By chance have you heard anything about the Dama Kanji bulbs as well?

Do they fit the sierra with hid lights?
Unfortunately no. I asked this question to Lasfit and they said the Sierra is incompatible.
I purchased a set of these D5S Lasfit LEDs for my 2016 GMC Sierra 2500. Lasfit told me that these would not fit my make and model. Is that true?
Yes. There is something different on the sierras.
Does the battery have to be unplugged before this install or is that not necessary?
Shouldn’t be necessary.

The Morimoto HID D5S? Sure. Send me an email at fondupotsgarage1@gmail.com
do you think they will fit a 2016 chevy suburban?
I don’t think so. They were specifically designed for Silverado’s.

Are you getting it inserted all the way so the lever can close down on the locking tabs?
@@fondupot man idk I’ve tried everything, do you just insert it in and lock the tabs? No turning necessary?
Correct. Insert straight in. Then rotate the lever locking tabs. You don’t need to turn the bulb. What year is your truck?
