In this chapter Neil Spooner visits his new syndicate water; Brook Lake at Carthagena for the first time. In true Spooner style setting up the bivvy is the last thing on his mind as straight away he tries to induce an early bite - initially with Solid PVA bags before the back of a carp near the surface is spotted and the floater kit is quickly grabbed!
As the session unfolds, Neil continues to look for stalking and opportunist bites during the days while setting out his stall with bait laden traps by night. This sounds like a great plan, but this super-active angler is met with plenty of set backs and frustration from the tricky Brook Lake carp, as his efforts are also rewarded with some big-fish success!

Watching how Mr Spooner fishes there is no wonder he catches lots of fish, always moving looking for opportunities. When I used to fish all I wanted to do was get the bivvy up, Chuck the rods anywhere and get on the ale. If I ever get back into fishing a different approach will be taken.

great video mainline, spoon the goon was on top form again you have got to love him. However, i personally was irritated by him going through his spod mix 3 times ! i understand you have to promote bait but that was overkill.

Hi, Spooner was using SOLID PVA bags here - so a different tip of presentation where the rig is also concealed inside the bag as opposed to a mesh bag being hooked on the outside of the rig. Putting a few holes in a solid bag then allows the release of unwanted air inside the bag so it'll sink to the lakebed quickly.
@@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV makes sense i usually thread my hooklink through the mesh bag so it becomes the same as having your ring inside the mesh bag but with the advantage of keeping hooklink out straight. won't argue with spooner though he proven he knows what he is doing many times over lol

I used to like spooner but now he waffles on saying the same things in all his videos . telling us where we are all going wrong .. Change the record mate , its getting boring to listen too.
Just our opinion of course and appreciate you taking the time to comment, but consistency within your approach is generally a route to success, but also shows trust and credibility in what you're doing and/or recommending when you're singing from the same hymn sheet.
It's a shame you feel that way he will be devastated as he regards you as one of the greats .if you know it all why you here in all fairness it's all recycled stuff whatever you watch but it's good watching and If I am not on bank catching them I enjoy watching others catch them instead
