When I was in hi-school, I could only dreamed to have something like GDevelop on mobile. I only had a calculator and trust me, writing assember on a 96x64 pixels screen doesn't allow the same speed to make games 😅
Guys, GDevelop isn’t first, Buildbox is, and Julian’s Editor, Struckd, Playir and Castle: Make and Play are also before GDevelop. But GDevelop is really good and recommended to use!
It'll be great when it goes to iOS. I could use it on my iPad! There are days when I don't feel like sitting at my desk, so to be able to make games while lounging or not needing to have/carry around a laptop sounds quite nice.
This is amazing, and a pain for me. I'd finally decided to go with construct3. Wasn't an easy decision. But I was feeling good about it. Then yall released on Steam. And I was "ok... well that doesn't affect me much but it's cool that they're doing it. That adds to their distribution and will encourage more features later. Have to keep an eye on it.".. and then you go and do this. The feature I've wanted in a game engine for years. So now I have to rethink every reason I was going to get the construct3 sub and start fresh with this. Sigh. Glad there's a bundle on sale.
I don't want to hate or anything but I think godot was first because it's open source and it has (or had since the godot 4 update) a no-code option, and you can download it on mobile. But I got to say, your mobile app is way more polished than godot's. Great job!
So far this *IS* the best engine I've ever experienced on mobile Still missing some features like import extensions but besides that this is the best engine
I'm late to the party but this is what I needed my whole life Thanks!!!! Edit: I don't have money for premium, I hope the Event Sheet will be free in the future I'm still gonna rate it 5 stars to help the devs
Additional coding for google play? SDK issues? I have several games on google play, and all I did was export them through GDevelop's 1 click export system. No additional coding required. -Wesley
The mobile app is really meant to be a new perk for people with a subscription. But people without a subscription can still edit and tweak their existing games while on the go, as well as check on their game analytics and manage leaderboards. 👍 -Wesley

Currently the mobile app is meant to be a perk for people with a subscription. This is pretty neat, but I also don't think showing the portrait mode initially while saying "tailored for mobile" made sense hehe You can barely see the object list within the scene. Otherwise actually very handy
My phone recently gave out, so the vertical footage is actually just the engine on my desktop squished to fit the screen.😅 But yeah, landscape mode is probably how more people are going to use it. Hopefully they get the idea. 😅 -Wesley
The mobile version uses cloud builds, similarly to the web version, or desktop if you use cloud saves. You're still free to use the web version if you'd like to of course, this version is just tailored a little more to the mobile experience. 👍 -Wesley
Nice I am using gdevelop from long time in my old low end pc When I saw the video I exited now I can make mobile games easily on my good mobile ! But after I saw there are limits on mobile app ! I am very disappointed ( Not satisfied with this mobile updated ) I hope you get the point !
I would say that only the disappointment so far is mainly the restrictions for the free version. Only being able to work on 1 scene is far too harsh, especially if, to my lack of knowledge, you need a scene for the title screen/main menu and another for the gameplay.
@@MetalSonicReject yes bro you got the point at the end And also if I fully make 3 scene on my pc and open it on mobile so I can see and edit it but I cannot append it ! Because I already learnt how to use gdevelop engine it can be useful for beginners they can learn engine on mobile devices but can't make semi full game in mobile I hope gdevelop fix that atleast 3 scene and 50 events and 30-40 objects !
