"Cash is king"
Literally the words used to sum up my entire budgeting course, listen to this guy very carefully.
This guy is such an awesome speaker, love listening to his lectures.
It's absolutely insane how amazing this video was, and yet it's one of the least viewed GDC videos. I can honestly say that this video will always have a profound affect on my life in one way or another.
I'd pay 50k for that voice.
I especially loved the final minutes. That's a great attitude.
As someone who has grown up in business I take most of this knowledge in the first part of the video about cash for granite. Well said.
Don’t count your eggs before they hatch.
Pay your dang taxes.
Don’t worry about paying less taxes just worry about making more money.
First thing you pay when things get tight? Your employees. Can’t make money without employees and they deserve your business’s money more than anyone else.
Then pay your taxes.
Did I mention you’ll have to pay taxes?
Now go make your money make more money so you can pay your taxes. :)
This is GOLD. Thank you Don Daglow.
This is freaking awesome. Thank you sir.
Thank you! This talk is just what I needed right now :)
Why wasn't this guy one of my teachers in school...he's brilliant.
Awesome talk . Thank you.
Loved listening to this. Great speaker!
This is actually an amazing talk!
Great lecture . That's what I'm talking about
Awesome lecture!
Very high-level stuff... I would hope someone starting their own gamdev business or moving into a position to manage one has at least this level of business experience.
There isn't much actual information in this, but it's still ok to remind yourself of the correct mindset and psychology. How many people burn money quickly for example, even if they know better, because they want fancy equipment or way too many employees?
6:30 "cash you own"
Mel Brooks, Producers "NEVER PUT YOUR OWN MONEY IN THE SHOW!!!"
A very good talk :)
What happens when the company has never had money and just sweat equity? hehe finding investors is hard work. Good talk thank you.
What a god.
the voices LOOOL
I feel like he's another Miyazaki, or Jackie Chan, or Bennett Foddy, or Zack Gage
Wish there was a way to like videos that are embedded elsewhere, videos like this are losing a lot of likes in this way.
That profile pic almost made me punch my monitor... :D
stop touching the damn camera jesus christ
is he too old to stand at that cathedra?
His jokes are not fun at all and he looks cringe
3:00 Wasn't long before this became awful... :/
tf are you talking about.
Did you even watch it.
If you work you have to earn money...
unfortunately you can't pay rent or buy food with just passion; artists and designers need money for their work
spot the anti-capitalist kid lol
