Took a trip down South to Morehead City, NC to fish with my buddy Chris. We spent a full day out around the Port Wall and Radio Island. It was a great day on the water! - Спорт
Gotta say Jessie, I love your videos. You are such a chill dude and you’re killing it on the water. Keep it up!
Another tough day, but you once again persevered through to some success. Your videos are engaging and beautiful whether or not you're catching--keep 'em coming!
Always a delight watching your videos Jessie! Looked like a beautiful day but it seems like all the rain has messed up the fishing for everyone.
I agree with you about the rain impacting the salinity. I've always had luck there and at the bridge near the boat ramp.
nice vid. i fished the wall yesterday, had my own jumbo fiddlers.caught a lot of small fish and one nice 5lb. Sheeper...til the police politely asked me to stay back .ps i set a white crab float /anchor line near radio island jetty by sign for yaks to tie up to. cya on the h20 !
Thanks for the comment! I need a source for big fiddlers down there, gonna have to catch them I guess
Jesse I am from NC and if you go back under the bridge in the sound side you will see a huge patch of saw grass that is the haystacks and there is good Trout and Puppy drum around that grass. Try it out sometime you want be sorry.
Cool video, appreciate you giving those reel habit jigs a shot.
I bet they would work great with the proper sized crabs and better conditions. I plan on trying them again in my local waters here soon
Here in Jacksonville as long as you have that scent of the fiddler on the jig, they'll eat it. Good luck and I'll keep an eye out..
cool vid
looks real similar to my kayak fishing this past summer a ton of small flounder, black sea bass etc
Yeah I have yet to have a really great day at the port wall
@@SouthernReelsFishing heading to Surf City NC this weekend but not bringing kayak
Just surf and pier fishing
Great vid
Tight lines
Great video. It is very deep there. We have fished there alot. Be careful~
Thank you, I will
We also have a bit more luck around the Morehead to Atlantic Beach Bridge for sh
Nice job man !!!
Thanks!
Glad I found your channel. I've fish there a few times. I've had better luck near the Coast Guard station.
THanks for watching!
Man I’ve debated on going around the port wall it didn’t seem to bad I’ve hit a outback and a PA14. I can’t wait to go to Chesapeake looks awesome.
It's not bad at all, just watch for the big waves bouncing off the wall and peaking, that'll get you quick
Which fish finder did you go with for the outback?
I have a Lowrance Hook4
Well at least you gave it a try. I paddled around Lynnhaven yesterday and lost the only fish I hooked. better luck next time.
It would have been so much better if we hadn't gotten all the rain recently, plus incoming tides have been a better bite this month, cooler water seems to help
My vicarious life. Be safe.
Thanks and the clickbait works every time lol!
Jesse, the only place I have caught sheephead around Morehead was on the oldest pilings with lots of barnacles. Have you ever fished around Harkers Island?
I don't think so, I'll have to look it up on a map to be sure
I'm just curious about the rod you're using, I noticed that the handle is super long, does that bother you at all while using this rod on your kayak. Or is this your optimal set up
Nope doesnt bother me at all. I like the longer handles, gives more leverage under my arm
Any tips on kayak setup for this area and even swansboro around the islands certain gear needed or not needed? I have always fished from a large boat or from a landing or bouge pier I bought a pelican clipper 100x sit in yak that I plan on decking out and I see a lot of cool ideas but not sure if they are all necessary
Id be careful with any yak that isn't a sealed hull sit on top style. One mistake and the sit in can flood and that's a pain to deal with. Other than that a basic fish finder, a hand operated siphon pump, life vest of course, a floating vhf radio, a whistle, a first aid kit, and your fishing stuff
Nice video! Does your Hobie have a black rub rail around it?
Yup! Totally custom... Duck tape and water hose lol!
Do Adams creek. There are some spots down their that can get you big fish! I caught a 10 pound black drum their to.
I'll have to try it next time I'm down there
What size bucktail were you using?
1 oz
Next time your in Moorehead for Atlantic beach go to memories if your shag. Tell them Lake rouse sent you. Maybe you will met my grandparents. I fish the same area with my granddad
I know I saw this video before and it wasn't 4 days ago?????
I'm not sure how you could have. I filmed this a couple weeks ago, but just posted it this week. I do have another video earlier this summer at Lynnhaven Inlet that has a similar thumbnail.
whole lotta talkin
Yup! had to wont catching any fish

Been there once during winter, nothing that day. Will try it again in season
