Mixed Bag - Morehead City Port

- Light North winds allowed for a perfect day on the water in Morehead City. November 1st is a time for trout fishing and deer hunting, but I decided to take a different approach. Parboiled sand fleas and shrimp were all that was needed to put 6 different types of fish in the cooler. This would be a fun and easy day of fishing for anyone, especially for a family with small children. I am really enjoying this cool down and can't wait for the water to get chilly!

Catch Mud Crabs under "stuff", below the high tide line (WEAR GLOVES, oyster cuts are nasty). The purple crabs with spots and striped legs are stone crabs and are illegal to possess.
Catch Sea Urchins on pilings and other structure below the high tide line (WEAR GLOVES, the spines are non-venomous but can leave splinters and oyster cuts are nasty), I recommend using a crab net.

Up here we use a sandflea shrimp combo for Sheepshead. Put a small piece of shrimp on the inside and sandflea on the outside. It works well for them and Tog.
Awesome job. I love bringing home fish to eat! Pigfish, Puffers, Spot, Sheepshead. Oh Yeah!!
Just relaxing with your feet kicked up catching fish. One of the best day a person could have
Without a single shadow of doubt, this is stress relief at its finest

I notice a cooler with crabs. Do you ever make any crabbing videos?
Man I always miss the spots that big in N.C.
Dude you absolutely destroy some fish! I literally bunged watched almost all your vids. Out of curiosity how long is your boat?

Can’t believe you threw the puffer back
What kind of boat is that? I've been considering buying a skiff for bay fishing and crabbing, and was considering a Gheenoe. That boat of yours looks sort of long and thin and light.

How is the sheepshead bite in winter/ in Taylor’s creek
You need to find structure, bridges and rock piles near the inlet are the best spots, along with nearshore reefs. Good luck.
Tips for radio island coast guard wall??
You are not allowed to fish near the coast guard station, the turning basin just out in front of there produces good virginia mullet and spot during the spring and fall on bottom rigs with shrimp.
Any tips for fishing Sheepshead in swansboro?
Haven't fished there much, strong current. I would use at least a 3 ounce egg weight and fish with crabs or urchins on the bottom in the eddy behind the pillars. Black drum are frequent there as well. Kind of late in the year to target them there I suspect, fish closer to the inlets. Good Luck
Yes Sean, go to the fish market lol. Btw, I do know you ;)
Can you show your rigs?
It is a double hook Carolina rig, I show how to tie it in Parboil Legit and Sugar Britches episodes. I highly recommend it...Put a clear bead between the egg weight and swivel to keep the weight from wearing the line and knot at the swivel.
How can I contact you? Love your show! RJ

You literally keep every fish you possibly can don't you?
I don’t show all of the ones that I throw back lol, so it appears so…
@@offkilterfishing Well maybe you should start only showing the ones you release lol because we aren't seeing much respect for the resourse in your videos.
And I'm absolutely not against keeping a few fish to eat fresh for the table and I know you aren't keeping anything unlawfully but we've gotta protect the resource for future generations. We can't all act like our grandparents did and bring home a cooler full every trip. I respect your fishing ability and it looks like you have no problem staying on fish. I fish the very same waters you do and a big piece of my heart is out on those waters.
@@TridentDriver Thats is not correct sir. He is keeping what is under his legal limits. Ive watched his videos and not once has he kept an illegal fish. Plus the smaller fish are not regulated. 🤫
@@XlChubbyBacon I said he is not doing anything unlawfully. You misunderstood my comment.
