I thank the universe for bringing people like Trevor Noah into the spotlight. He has a unique and challenging perspective that can help shape opinions far and wide and uses his power responsibly. I hope he continues to talk as frankly and honestly as he does and hope people take as much as possible from him!
He's an intelligent person and that kind of intelligence doesn't come from books. It comes from life experience and thats why i can relate to him because I've lived a difficult childhood and it makes you see things differently as an adult.
I hate to hear when adults say I lived a difficult childhood How can child knows this? I am proud to be an African coz we are strong race we don't hold on our childhood memories on negative way Although others always keep on taking us back there For us is normal and in life that's doesn't determine what's ur future
Agnes Muchemi it is important that we emphasise on this issues so that they never happen again. There's no need to play down colonialism so that we can call it out when it is about to happen
I KNEW he was different. He's not the 'typical' human, he's greedy but in the good way, his self service is to help others, and not in a ''fix it'' way, but an example of ''there is a better way''. it will be fun to see him grow up and mature. He's One of the Good Ones.
"it will be fun to see him grow up and mature" It's actually interesting you should say that. Looking back to 5+ years ago, and he's such a different person in this interview. Makes you wonder where he'll be in another 5+ years.
I absolutely love all of his interviews. I am transfixed by how he has been able to transmute an transform his own history into not only comedy but also powerful lessons. His interviews are always a source of delight and powerful eye openers through the gifts of his own family struggles at a time of so much internalized stress & resilience.
His mom's approach to sharing is sooooo good. Open hands from sharing also mean more room to receive. God bless her. That concept came to mind a few years ago in the middle of Bible study and I've been progressively working towards being more and more generous since. It is just a gift to give and share: money, time, your roof, a listening ear, etc. Even the poorer of us has something to share and bless others with.
There's something about Trevor. Whether it's his brutal honesty, his comedy, his obvious intelligence, his good looks, or his openness about his upbringing, his vibrant personality. . . I so enjoy him. I love hearing him talk. He makes you think and take assessment of your own life and upbringing. I wish him the best life has to offer.
She So Sweet He talks about it a lot in his interviews and comedy. His mother would try to sneak him to his father as often as she could, but it was very very dangerous to do so (she was arrested multiple tomes actually). Later his dad was estranged a bit, but then he has a good relationship with his father now.
The book(Born A Crime) will be made into a movie .. Lupita Nyong'o will play his mother - respect Trevor !.....A beautiful story about the sweets BTW....
As a white person growing up in a predominantly white school we were taught about apartheid from a very simplistic perspective (whites suppressing blacks etc) but it was SO SO much more than that. Reading Trevor Noah’s book taught me so much more about apartheid than any history book every could. Truly eye opening. I have never read a book that has made me laugh, cry and want to physically hurt so many people I have never met before.
icaledshotgun it also sells and sometimes the Truth is slightly bend to sell rather than be totally honest which may be viewed as boring. Have you learnt nothing of media to figure this out
She was never a racist She just couldn't discipline Trevor because of the consequences It was a strange experience to live with a caucasian kid as your own. So I completely understand
Trevor is super-original talented. This guy is a walking goodness and is book. Full of everthing, from wisdom intelligence to comedy. I just love him and never get tired of him. May God bless him and keep the good job of educating us
is it one thing my mother teached me was "never hit anyone, do not hurt anyone" of course im allowed to hit back if they started as self defense but never start the violence was her point. but as a young boy i said that it would't help me if i let other kids bully me(i was one of the "losers" at school), and after a couple of days there were program on tv about Ghandi and i was blown away by the results he made by doing what he did. and after that there were program about Martin Luthor King who did somewhat similar stunt, my mother then told me that i could do something similar stunt myself at school and i did and it worked out overtime. and when i realise how good this stunt is i have not yet hit a single person in 7 years and im 23 years old with ADHD and im really proud of it :D
He's smart, down to earth, acknowledges the privilege he had growing up compared to other Black kids, he is an amazing storyteller, he has a lot to share, he is open to learning, he's super witty, he's sensible, relatable, compassionate, funny, adorable, handsome and attractive. I think I can go on with this list because I'm quite certain that I'm in love. I want to know this man.
“Just change your world “ ......how powerful are these words right now .......go to the grass roots of every community, neighborhood , towns , cities and states .....little by little we change 🙏🏻
This is another episode must watch. Your mother is a most beautiful human being who has gifted you beyond measure. You are you and I’ve come across any comedian like you.
The stories you tell about your childhood are compelling. You are such an articulate person, that's why you jokes are always so witty. My favourite comedy show host hands down.
If there's one thing which I can take from Trevor Noah is the way how beautifully he keep himself attached to his roots and enjoy being borne in apartheid... I never saw him complaining, sulking, and spitting over his past. He is a true warrior ❣️
The best of the best ! Thank you Trevor for your existence ! Thank your mother for us for bringing up such an amazing son. Inshallah I hope one day my son is as cool, as understanding as you are !

Padasia You won't ever find intelligence in books. Books spread horizons, not add to your IQ.
Noelle Irina but you get the gist of his/her point?
I believe intelligence comes from both. Trevor himself has said reading Nelson Mandela's book helped him learn about many things.
I hate to hear when adults say I lived a difficult childhood

What's the name of the book? And where can I purchase mine?
Patricia Vaye “Born a crime” any book store I’m pretty sure

And if you can, definitely listen to the audiobook. He narrates it and it’s amazing!
"When you give, you have more room to get." That's beautiful.
Amen to that

All African mother's are the same. Great mothers!
his mother is a saint
Trevor, your mother is a gem. Treasure her. If she had a platform to share her wit and her heart so many more people would treasure her as well.
Awww...African mothers and the lessons they teach. Sometimes it's as though they were all cut from the same cloth.
majodie so true... it's the spirit of Ubuntu and passing of wisdom not through books but valuable life lessons.
