Fitted Koni Special Active shocks to my 9-5 Aero along with Poly bushes all round. Awesome drive.
C’mon guys - let’s get Kyle up to (at least) 10k subscribers 💪💪💪
thank you!! Lets goo hahaha
Awesome drive you took. The Saab is very sure footed & fills you with confidence. 🤙🤙🤙
Definitely!
Thanks for making this video... a mechanic here in Indiana couldn’t figure out the creaking noise of my 2008 Saab 93... front suspension. Polyurethane Bushings...
Your exhaust sounded great in the beginning clip 🔥🔥
Thank you!
great advice. have been hearing a clanking/rattling noise in the front of my 9-3 every time I go over bumps and I suspect it is those bushings. am planning on upgrading my shocks soon so I will have to look at all the things you mentioned in this video as well. this rattling has been extremely annoying so glad I think I figured out what it is
Hey man! Hope you’re still here, what exhaust is that?? Sounds great
I’m pretty sure OEM struts on the aero are still Sachs. Lower springs like you mentioned. I have bilstein b4 with aero springs on my non aero. I felt like b6 was too stiff for daily driving but man did they perform great. The b4’s are bilsteins”oem equivalent” option and state they are about 15% stiffer than oem. This feels like an accurate description. But the performance is lacking. Kind of the worst of both worlds. If I had to do it over again I might have gone with Koni adjustables set all the way soft.
Thanks Brother Man, with do all the above. Please do a follow-up with performance shock and coil spring replacements.
No. 1 Problem with saabs and especially 9-5s are the soft bushing that get shot quick. Just changing to polyurethan bushing both front and rear makes alot of difference
Edit; you menioned it i see 😁 but should def. be the first uppgrade
Moog problem solver rear sway bar links are actually an upgrade. Side note, Subaru BRZ sway bar adjustable endlinks fit our cars (rears need a minor modification)
Very well done video I give you thumbs up bro thank you
I put a subframe brace on my 93 after doing everything else
how does it feel now?
@@KylePancis it really made a difference to stiffen the front end. This after replacing all the other things you showed..I used Konis
And...GOOD TYRES!
Looking for front sway bar bushings and brackets is there a universal part that will replace OE? 2003 9-5 linear? Any suggestions? In Canada so parts are very limited here.
Everthing done on my '03 Aero wagon, ready to fly over the Autobahn. Next is the upgrade to DO88 intercooler and radiator.
How do you have a usb port by the onstar buttons. Also do they still sell rear sway bars from a reputable place?
I installed it myself, drilled and placed in there
Look at ultra racing on eBay 20mm rear sway bar
Hello kyle. Nice video.
Can you give me the name of your android auto apple car play in the car you drive in the video ?
Thank you
I picked up my first Saab, a '07 9-3 tid estate a few months ago for a reasonable price knowing it needed work. Had a major service done with a brake overhaul (still feels spongey, but work well. Seems this is common). Steering seems vague on the twisties so maybe new bushings might help after 150,000 mi. Can't seem to find much info on my model in Australia. Ever had any experience with them?
No, check out saabcental.com forums
Fri video subframe brushes, what about brushes inserts? Cheers
Nice video? What is your USB plug into and what do you have under it?
Goes to back of radio for Android Auto or Apple car play
The SAAB 9-5 handles far better around the corners when you do this: Lower the car with 2 cm for a lower center of gravity, change the suspension with a notch stronger suspension arms, change the shock absorbers with also stronger and stiffer ones. This will not affect the comfortable ride much. The standard shock absorbers at the back were not worthy of the SAAB 9-5. I have a SAAB 9-5 with the suggested changes above, and I noticed a big positive change!
What suspension do you have exactly? On your 9-5 OG
Where are the links you were talking g about
Off topic.. have you ever felt with Xeon high beam shutters on a Saab? On my 9-3 the high beams will not work. Meaning the Shutters do not open.
I haven't personally! Check fuses maybe?
I've had that issue recently 😕 on my 9-5. As Kyle said check the fuses. My left side wiring harness was cut so I had to replace that. Once I checked deeper into the issue I ended up having to replace the entire assembly unfortunately. Its working now thankfully.
@@kennys7361 i check the light it self and can use 12v to move the shutters on the bench. I have also checked the fuses to. I’ll check them again, but I think it is something else
@@cbdoil4082 so idk if the 9-3 has it but under the 9-5 headlight assembly there's something called a ballistic it might be worth a look. Those tend to go bad and cause issues. I would spray some CDR electronic cleaner on the connectors.
Where are you located. What state
Anyone have a link to this suspension bushings?
Need them too
which one?
@@KylePancis the polyurethane ones for a 9-5 Aero.
