  • This video shows how to replace or change the volume spacers on a Fox DPS rear shock. Very easy to do. You can find the volume spacers here:

    I just got the same kit in today and appreciate you making this video. As Ryan said, to the pont. There's a GMBN Tech video from a few weeks ago where they interview a shock tuner in his shop, where he says if you're on the heavy side, to just go big on the tokens and reduce if it's to hars. I'm also a tad shy of 200lbs. Wish you a great season!

      So far the yellow is working well, I could probably go one bigger

      I’m at like 205lbs. I put the big red one in mine and dropped the pressure from 205psi to about 185-190 and it seems to be good. Even helped my front end as well

    Very helpful video. I appreciate the tips to deflate slowly with a shock pump and then to cycle the shock as you pump it up again.

    Perfect!! Not only very well explained but it also happened to be so that I'm in a very similar position both in how my bike behaves and regarding my personal gravitational force. So I ended up doing what you did and swapped the tiny pink spacer for a yellow. Excited to try it out!
    So how did it work out for you?

      Much better with the yellow, no problems so far

      @@TonyHob That's great news, so satisfying when things get dialsled in! I swapped for a yellow yesterday, can't wait to try it out!! A little worried I'll have mute pedal Bob, but I guess I still prefer better small bump sensitivity and traction.

    Hello there, great video! I'm 250lbs and ride with about 280psi in the shock, do you think I should go to the yellow spacers right away?

      At least yellow. Might need orange

    I’m only around 150 lbs but I also keep blowing through both my fork (Marzocchi Z2) and my shock (Fox DPS evol) travel. My sags are set at 20 and 30%, as per the manufacture’s recommendations. I’m riding an Orbea Rise and been progressing quite a lot as a rider lately. I’m fine with how the suspension feels right now, even though I get pretty close to bottoming out on pretty intermediate trails. I plan on adding spacers both front and back, is that the best thing to do?

    • @TonyHob
      @TonyHob  2 роки тому

      A good rule of thumb is that you should be using about 90% of your travel during your average rides. That way an unexpected big hit will use the last 5-10%. If you are not actually bottoming out and it feels good right now then you might want to keep it as is.

    How much travel you got on the rear shock cause I got the same problem with mines on the polygon it’s running a 120mm travel rockshox deluxe select plus? Can i add spacers to the rockshox?

    I’m curious. How much do you weigh? 200lbs psi seems like a lot in the rear. Is that normal? I am running mine at 100lbs and bottom out all the time🤦🏽‍♂️ wondering if I need to readjust mine lol

      Just don't click on the link. I also buy most of my supplies from my LBS whenever I can. The problem is that they often don't have what I need. I guess you don't buy at Walmart either, that's totally your right. The difference is I don't question you about it. Live and let live. I still have no idea if the video helped you out or not...
