These devs lost the trust of their playerbase long before this announcement, but they somehow still managed to make their entire community feel completely betrayed with this bullshittery.

Watch how laggy the game is gonna be on console launch and it’s gonna be embarrassing and it’s gonna be a failed launch AGAIN.
One thing i notice from the various new archetypes when the game launches on consoles is that the flail is not one of the choice at the start, maybe the vampire/werewolf dlc is for the end of the year or start of 2025 with a new weapon maybe related to the flail like a "sacred book" 🤔

Yesterday I was hoping for at least a roadmap. Today the least I expected was some Q&A addressed to the current playerbase, but old players were completely ignored. So sad.

Said this last year and you called me a doomer… new world has new no content and no reason to even play the game and the numbers show it. The dlc gave the game a little help but numbers dropped lower than before the dlc. This game needs to shut down for a year and come back with content cause this game is not dead but man call you call a zombie alive?

To everyone saying "New World devs have given up on PC players.." : guess what, PC players gave up on New World first. With current active player count sitting somewhere between 1600 and 3000 players daily, NW is effectively dead. You can't blame the devs for wanting to save their game (and their jobs) by doing a full pivot towards console. If any PC players want to still be involved in the NW community then guess what? Gonna have to start actually playing NW again... The numbers don't lie, you are all sitting here and dumping on the devs for a game that you don't even play anymore.

They created pay for cosmetics, pronoun bullshit in the name creation, but they couldn't create more than one OPR map in all this time? We begged for it and what did we get?

If thy don't fix the game and if thy don't bring new content why PC players supports the game? even that PC players did not abandon the game and still supporting? but this June announcement was a total trolling nothing more while saying us to wait 6 months for an announcement and now saying to wait October but even that will not for PC players... so what we wait for +10 months and still play the same content for almost 3 years?...
It seems the 3 of you commenting under the OP, again I'll reiterate, you don't know code or game development period. Obviously content stalled if they were working on console port. This is so the PC and Console versions remain close in terms of content and updates. You can't have the 2 versions sorely behind each other because that creates more problems. Black Desert Online is having that issue currently. Again most of you PC players are just crybabies and not offering ANY constructive criticism at all.

they open the game to more players, implementing server shards for better pop/server management, teasing a new zone, a trial, and people are still unhappy, because they didn't speak to the 5k remaining PC players directly ??!!?? For the price of the game, you have at least more than 1.5k+ hours of gameplay, while most AAA games sit at around 100h max. What a joke some of the pc gamers are, real snowflakes.
I think you’re completely missing the point. I’ve said everytime this is the right move for the team, but that doesn’t mean they couldn’t have done it better and communicated more clearly or at least spoken to your play base. This is a relaunch of the game which is the right move, but they still should talk with their current players

yeah those "Snowflake PC Gamers"(which by ALL right us "PC Gamers" have EVERY right to be as PISSED OFF, considering we've done nothing but support and beta test this pile of Shi... for the last 3 YEARS, only to be led on with false promises of "fixes" which then come back 2 months later, with the devs claiming "we've fixed it". Mounts have been requested for YEARS since Closed Alpha and even into Beta. What happened they "sold" us the mounts, same thing with a new area. Just so the team can claim "see we've listen" no what they've done is gone how can we make even more money, "Ah yes sell them something they already bought and have but make them pay for a tweaked version of it. ) as you call them are PAYING customers that have supported this DUMPSTER of game. This game has BUGS glore, and a Dev team (and management) that is about as clueless as a bunch of babbling baboons wandering around that has ZERO game dev experience, yet alone even an internal roadmap of such. Need I remind you also, the numerous times that AGS has stated " we've got soo much to tell you" but then is nothing more then empty promises and lies. This game went from 900K players at the start down to a mere 6K players? That is a roughly %98 player drop off to the point BARELY anyone even streams/plays it, yet alone know of it anymore. This is merely a simple F U the current player base while trying to "encourage" new console players to play this dumpster fire of a broken game. I have been playing this game since Closed Alpha and let me tell you, this is just another company not knowing how to sustain player numbers and instead of actually "working" on their game, they'd rather just deceive the console players into this mess of a game in hopes of keeping those numbers up for the shareholders, that is until consoles users realize this dumpster fire of a game, then leave as most of us on the PC side did.. Miscommunication maybe, but the fact the last dev blog video was a giant F U AGAIN to the main audience says alot... I've uninstalled this pile of crap after last night...this is now 3/3 games that AGS has let failed. My advice to people avoid this game and spend the $40 USD somewhere else.
@@DraconianEssence how many hours do you have in the game? I do have 1.5k hours, and I enjoyed at least the first 1k hours, even if the game is far from perfect. And i paid 35€ for the game, without subscription.
35€ for 1.5k hours is a pretty good deal imo.
I also play eso, paying 13€/month for a game also with bugs, and I started playing it since beta.

I don't really agree with all the hate. Development studios need a forum where they can promote their product. This isn't a review, and this is obviously not intended for veteran players. This is a promotion specifically marketing the game to console players, and not only that, I think they are going for a younger demographic... first MMO type players.
Gaming has changed a lot, and gamers have changed even more.
Now... I don't love the overly enthusiastic audience, and the streamer actors were pretty lame, but as a whole, this presentation was meant to accomplish a specific goal and I think this presentation accomplished that goal pretty well.
I can't even fault them for mostly ignoring long time players... IMO they have been working towards this launch since a month after the game initially launched and they lost 80% of its players. This presentation and re-branding of the game is the reason they provided multiple years of additional support and development. New World has been in Beta for the past 3 years, and Oct 2024 is the actual launch of the game. I think they are hoping for an FFXIV ARR type revival here... maybe not that big on scale, but similar
I don't even think this is a really terrible year for the game to launch... except for Monster Hunter Wilds... I think that's the only release that I think will have any meaningful impact on the console launch of New World... They don't play the same, but there are enough similarities in that they are action based and multiplayer games.
I can swear that none of the people shouting in the background are playing New World 😂
