Nice review, one hint to readers, in a rain jacket u always have to use long sleeves shirts of shirt and arm sleeves, This is to avoid moist to directly adhere to the inner layers and blocking water vapour to pass through the membranes. With a longsleeve, as long as the watervapour doesnt condense on the inner fabric, will keep on passing through.
I’ve been using my Arcteryx Norvan SL jacket (shakedry) since 2017. Still the best super lightweight waterproof I have ever owned. For multi day adventures I do turn to the ‘ordinary’ Norvan jacket, which is just a bit less minimalistic in ‘ordinary’ Goretex, but gives me a bit more trust in being a bit better to withstand abuse. Nice test!
+1 on the shake dry jacket. A real game changer. Seems to be disconnected now(2022+). Probably because it was a very light, fragile fabric that needed to babied.
Thanks for this, I agree, I always run with a visor and it makes a great peak for a hood in those more lightweight emergency style jackets with elastic around the face. I just wish more would leave space for a ponytail! :)
Yes all of them, if they don't have taped seams they are not waterproof jackets, hope that helps. You might also like this review which explains a lot about waterproof jackets in general ua-cam.com/video/rthsYRZ0nqQ/v-deo.html Happy trails, Claire
Serious weather is a challenge for lightweight jackets that pupport to be for ultras (which typically take place in areas with challenging weather! I bought the Inov8 Stormshell which fits and looks great. Would be perfect for scattered showers but I found the Pertex wet out very quickly. Also, where I run on the hills, the wind can be extreme and freeze you. It wasnt a sufficient barrier. Sent it back and bought a Hagloff Goretex Paclite + which was perfect! My jacket before the Inov8 was also goretex and performed similarly to the Hagloff. Unless its Summer in really wouldnt go for a Pertex jacket
All the six jackets are made of a good quality Claire and Vicky does a good job showing them .
Thanks AC!

Ah yes, a very good tip, long sleeves defo the bizz under a waterproof

Nice to know!
I have a norvan as well. Best of the best imo 👌

The peakless hoods (e.g. the montane design) work really well for people who run with peaked caps.

Start your own company and make a jacket with all the best features/colours/materials
Kate from Harrier has done just that, I help her with some of the designs
@@wildgingerruns awesome 😎. Hope you can make a step by step “how to start your own clothing business” video 👍
Great review. Not so required in Queensland, Australia. But can see why you need them. Thank you.
Ah to be blessed with the sun! Although I did go hiking in Tazzie in Sept and we defo needed waterproofs!
Yay a video that uses grams!
Lol yes I'm a Brit so we use grams here now
In our mandatory kit jackets need to be seam sealed. Any of these seemed sealed?

Very useful review peeps
THanks hope it helps!
Just be careful with the chest tab on the Ron hill, it tears easy.
Good info DB thanks
Should probably have tried the Inov8 Stormshelll ... it is a lot like what she was looking for
It's defo super super light!
@@wildgingerruns it is. It should also have most of the features she is looking for. Except the fabric I guess
Are you selling any of these swishy nylon material pants or jackets? Please let me know. Thanks
Sorry I just review them :)
Ok. How many swishy nylon material pants or jackets do you have?
Do any of these jackets have pit zips?
Not usually in super lights, makes them heavier try this one if you want jackets with pit zips ua-cam.com/video/rthsYRZ0nqQ/v-deo.html
Odlo zeroweight dualdry?
Sorry not tried that one, Odlo not a huge brand in the UK
I can smell the PFAS over the video
Thanks for your comment!

I agree, I'd go for a full on 3-layer jacket for proper weather. These are just in case jackets.
inov8 is best
Yep love inov8 still wearing it
Bit pointless when you don't mention the most important thing about a waterproof jacket lol
Waterproofness anyone?
I cover that in my previous film about waterproofs... ua-cam.com/video/rthsYRZ0nqQ/v-deo.html
