Ravenwing was just doing his job, he didn't know that Oakstar would exile her or the kits, and Frecklewish felt as though she was lied to and acted out of grief, like Mapleshade. Reedshine was just trying to defend her mate, and of course she's upset about Mapleshade being there, she was under the impression that Appledusk loved her and her only. But of course, he didn't. Appledusk on the other hand cheated on and lied on his mate. Whether Reedshine or Mapleshade was his first mate is up for debate. And Oakstar exiled *kittens*. He could have just exiled Mapleshade, but he exiled the kits too, partly leading to their deaths

Riverclan had a right to act the way they did, Thunderclan could have just banished Mapleshade though. The kittens where innocent and Thunderclan loyal.

Reedshine was mostly innocent. She didn’t know Appledusk was meeting with Mapleshade. It wasn’t her fault she “stole” Appledusk. To her she was just defending her mate. It was only in the end she was cruel to Maple, but before that, it wasn’t her fault Apple was with Maple. (Also, considering her pregnancy could be noticed by the last chapter, she was probably already pregnant here).

Honestly, what happened to Mapleshade was her own fault! Ravenwing was doing his job as someone who speaks with StarClan, holding his tongue of what he saw would be a severe violation of his vows. Frecklewish was devastated over Brichface's death truly believing she had one last remnant of her brother, only to discover Birchface's murderer and snapped. And Appledusk had lost his first litter right after meeting them and never had a real chance to get to know them! Mapleshade - on the other hand - didn't bother to deny Frecklewish's assumption of Birchface fathering her kittens, she took her kittens to the river where Ravenwing found them and confirmed the omen. And when she was exposed, she didn't even bother to defend her children let alone atone for her actions, like Appledusk did. She really should have thought her actions through more thoroughly, she knew it would mean trouble if the father was revealed, yet she planned on admitting it to the clan when Larch, Petal and Patch were older. The punishment would have been far more worse, and maybe even her kittens would be upset, realizing their mother lied to them for all of their lives up to that point! Mapleshade should have just told Frecklewish that Birchface wasn't the father, then shut her dumbazz up!
