Showcasing all the Unite Attacks in Suikoden II. My previous video got a little outdated and looks horrid, so I remade it with different music and better quality. My emulator hanged a bit on certain parts, and I couldn't do much to change it. However, the sound quality is a lot better this time around.

Love the Flik and Nina one. The 2D animation is amazing in this game. There's very few games outside this and Breath of Fire 3 and 4 that have such attention to detail.
This is better than any music video that I've ever watched...Every single pixel has it's heart through it's animations.
Dat Kobold Army tho.
Ducusin, Vergel M. had 14 when I played this game, now I'm 29, i agree with U, still the best game ever.
In my opinion, Suikoden was my absolute favorite, Suikoden II is also a masterpiece as well. cx The Kobold Army is such a powerful unite! Ah OP really, love it!

I was about 6 when I first had it rented out from the video shop and I kept renting it out and keeping the saves on my memory card just so I could see what happens next! Then my mum somehow managed to get it on 90’s Internet (apparently it took all night to get from one screen to the other) and I can confirm it is still the best game I’ve ever played! :D

Unite buff tips
1:20 It's dmg can be buffed if either Kasumi or Mondo equip "Secret Writings" special item from rope climbing minigame
3:17 & 3:43 Equip "Cups of Promise" to get special buff (Dmg buff for Bandit Attack & 30% knockdown for Manly Attack)

1. Double Leader ATK( Riou & Tir McDohl)- One word: Awesome.
2. Buddy ATK( Riou & Jowy Atreides)- My fav goes the first one, because the second one felt so wrong.
3. Flash ATK( Gantetsu, Bolgan & L.C. Chan)- Death by...SHINING HEADS!! XD
4. 100 Kobold ATK( Gengen & Gabocha)- Variation of Kobold ATK, kinda LOL.
5. Twin Fighter ATK( Wakaba & L.C. Chan)- These two could be the descendant of Ansatsuken fighters hehehe.

Awww Riou and Tir so nostalgic, I want to see them again. And Viki her unite attack with anyone in any series always hillarious. The only time she really useful in battle was in Suikoden 3 her summoning was so powerful.
I still remember how she killed all my party members thanks to her catastrophic spellcasting fail in Suikoden 2 💀💀

As a kid i could only play the demo of Suikoden II. I was completely astonished by that badass intro video. Even tough i never got to really play it, i come back every once in a while to watch the intro video. Maybe i give the remaster a try when it comes out ^^.
For sure! Suikoden II was a great game, and the remaster looks like it's doing the game justice. I'm super excited to pick it up when it's released!

The term "octopi" is incorrect. The word "octopus" is Greek, while changing "-us" (or "-a") to "-i" for a plural is Latin, so "octopodes" would be the correct Greek plural, or "octopuses" if you want to translate into English.

@@DGneoseeker1 I don't know. I'm not really fluent in Greek or Latin; I just happened to know a bit of trivia, of which the previous comment reminded me. I do recall that "hand" in English would be (or be close to) "kheir/cheir" in Greek or "manus/mani" in Latin (as in Hundred-Handed Ones/Hekatonkheires/Centimani), and that "octopus" is named so for its "eight legs/feet," but I'm not sure about the Latin for "eight" (octa?) or for "foot" (ped-/pedi-, as in pedestrian?). Maybe it's "octapede?" Perhaps someone else will enlighten us.
There is one more that might count. Seed and Culgan have one or two unite attacks themselves.

Is that a cheat or hack? that you can use Jowy Attreides and Jowy Blight at the same time. And know I now there is a unite for Beautiful Ladies for the four of them. Tnx for the video. lol at Five Squirrels failure Hehe!

But wtf, they just hugged the first squirrel enemy because... they love fellow squirrels too? haha
They're supposed to do an Eject effect where they lift the enemy out of the battle for an insta-kill.
It's 2024 and I can't wait for the remaster to be released!
You can use Tir if you have a clean save from Suikoden 1, no matter how many destiny stars you gathered, just make a save in the last dungeon and you can convert It in Suiko 2. After you defeat Necklord you need to go do a city (forgot the name) and you will find Gremio and a mini-quest will happen.

I played both Suikoden 1 & 2 a few months back for the first time. I was a bit sad that I glossed over these 2 RPG's in my youth but was pleasantly surprised to be able to play them both in quick succession :D.
Thanks for this compilation. Even though I recruited everyone in both games I never had the time to try out every party combination so I never saw more than a 1/4 of these specials!

Yes, I was playing this on the PC. If you own the original game disks, you can run them off your computer using an emulator. I used ePSXe.
If you don't own the original disks, you can use Google to look for an .ISO of Suikoden II.
Telic Notion how to import the save data from suikoden 1 to suikoden 2 so I could recruit Tir McDohl? I tried to do it before, but it couldn't read the saved data. Thanks!

Best game ever however the only thing I despised about this game was how to get Clive. Thank god for gameshark's saved time code. (if you dont know what I mean, you had to do nearly the WHOLE game in 19 hours to get Clive, a total game wrecker for me as I stayed in the first city grinding for 34 hours alone just to get a ton of winged boots AND knocked that captain prick out and win the fight)
Yep! Recruiting Clive was a fun 'challenge' playthrough that I did a while ago. It definitely felt pretty good to get him in my party without cheats!
[EDIT] The large monsters weren't a part of the original 108 stars AFAIK. Mainly optional "fun" characters that you can use.
The simple homage to the turn based rpg these days just can't compare to the masterpieces during the PS1 era. Stories and character development just doesn't stand up these days. Compared to Suikoden, Xenogears, Legend of Legaia so on and so forth.
The Persona series have been consistently good with character development and fairly fun plot. I still have a soft spot for the games you listed though, =D

Never saw the shiny heads one before, (actual lol).
My favorites: 1) Meg breaks the 4th wall.
2) Tengaar hits Hix in the butt with a fireball.
3) Nanami turns into Riou in the variation.
Wtf Sierra's unite attack did 9k damage (and she's even bad at strength)? That unite attack should be able to one-shot each part of the beast rune 😮

Well actually you can recruit Tir Macdhol,if you have save game of Suikoden 1(if Gremio still alive on your gameplay,you can recruit him to Aling with Tir)

What do u think of the remaster coming this year?
When I played this game (and probably one of the best ones at that) a couple of years ago, the unite attack I relied on towards the end of the game were Anita and Valeria (4:31). With Anita equipping Fury, and the latter equipping Balance Rune (so she wouldn't become unbalanced anytime) it made the game so easy to finish, but it def. has a reply value :DD

Yes, you missed a Unite with Wakaba and Long Chan Chan when they are both at critical state.
Also, you can use Servant Attack while Bob is in his werewolf form too.
You forgot the 5 brothers with hammers. They have a unite attack.

Those are optional recruits. When you are given the special item to recruit mythical beasts, players usually either choose to recruit Feather and Sigfried (griffith & unicorn), or these 2 octopus (there's actually 3, including their baby octopus). Rarely anyone does the 2nd one because by doing so you will not be able to recruit all 108 Stars of Destiny.
