Welcome to Ep.30 of How to build a cheap drift car!
In this series I am going to show you guys how to build a simple yet capable drift car with plenty of potential.
From what I can tell, it's not a bad investment. Is it necessary though? That's debatable. The sound isn't too different from before but noticable, if you spend time to listen to the clips again and again to compare LOL. Hopefully it sounds a lot better when I drive at 7000rpm on track.

M50 Non-Vanos E36 Sedan owner here. Excited to follow along with this. Good vids as always man
thank you!🙏🏼🙏🏼 hate to sound like some other youtubers but i really got something crazy planned out lol hope you'll enjoy it 😇🙈
I have a 1992 non vanos e36 and the build videos would be great, it’s hard to find anything on the non vanos engines just keep posting you’ll get the views eventually
appreciate the words man we definitely a rare breed lol Imma try my best to build it up in an affordable yet effective way
hey man how did you get your headers to fit onto ur exhaust looks like they don’t align with my ISR exhaust help! :(
Those looks like shorty headers. You have a non vanos head great for Revs, and boost
You can swap m54b30 internals and cams and make m3 power at a quarter of the costs
way too much work lol Cost isn't something that I worry about, I'm too busy to do an engine swap or pull the entire engine and change all the internals. If i were to do that I'd rather do fully forged internals.
I understand. Great content btw, in the process of building an e36 myself💪🏼
@@afterdark2349 thank you! hope my videos can help with ur build
So you're saying you can swap a double vanos cam from m54 into a non vanos m50 engine? Not sure about that
@@BillyTheSKIDI think he meant the internals, and an additional set of cams thats designed for non vanos m50.
cant find those headers on ebay, how much where they?
I bought a similar set off Ebay for a 95 M3 but didn't get as lucky. The collector flange on the front header hits the engine block.
dang, is returning it an option? or grind it down?
Nice header
Was there any fitment issues with the isr exhaust? I have the same headers and still debating on getting the exhaust
Not at all. The dual flex pipe design on the ISR was kinda weird for me to line it up the first time but they actually fit together very nicely.
Did u notice any gains with the headers yet?
had a misfire last event, so couldn't tell. im going to another event in 2 weeks
@@ricotheunprofessional Any news ?
@@imnota sounds great, but my car had a misfire on track and i am rebuilding the engine currently. But even when i had the misfire the power loss was not as significant as it supposed to be, so I assume the headers definitely helped and unleashed some hp
@@ricotheunprofessional Sorry to hear that, I hoped it would've been a simpler issue that would've been fixed by now :(
@@imnota unfortunately it requires a complete rebuild, but that gives me the excuse to make it a 3.0 stroker 😈
Just installed these on my M3 last month, didn’t even make a video on it because it was such a bitch to install 🤣
Also, the using anything besides an 11m ratcheting wrench is miserable
mannnn i almost quit halfway lolol
When you remove the stock headers do they come out from the engine bay or the bottom of the car ?
This bolted up to your stock midsection?? Rm sweet vid
My mid section is modified, but this can be bolted to stock mid pipe.
Make sure to check the fitment still.
HEY! I shot that thumbnail 🙋♂️
PRECIATE THE LOVE 🏴☠️
😌🙌🏼🙌🏼
Yes they are worth it
definitely!
i wonder if these will fit rhd cars
i have the same exhaust and i just got the same headers. what size bolts did u use to connect the headers to the exhaust?
I just used the bolts that came in the package.
What’s the name of the header?, I clicked the link and it no longer shows up
There was no name, maybe look up equal length e36 headers on ebay?
@@ricotheunprofessional alright thanks anyway
the headers link is expired, do you know where i can find them?
maybe look up "equal length e36 headers" on ebay
I have a 92 e34 with a m50b25tu. Do you think it’s a good engine to turbo?
it's not a yes or no question. All depends on what you wanna do with it, how much power you wanna get, and how much are you planning to spend
was all the trouble worth it?
It definitely sounds nice. And I'd just look up e36 equal length header on ebay.
Hey bro how did u get the ISR exhaust to work with the obd 1 car? Aren’t the O2 sensors different
i didn't do any modifications for O2, it just fits. Not sure the O2 difference between obd1 and obd2. never had an OBD2
@@ricotheunprofessional sick okay, I have OBD 1 as well, so should just bolt right in? No modifications? Also did u lose power ? Or gain any?
@Kyle Allan couldn't feel any gain or loss of power tbh, if anyt it would be only a few hp compared to stock. And yes, it just bolted right in, no modification needed.
I do have an aftermarket O2 sensor on the car before I installed the exhaust, the wiring might be longer but I havent heard anybody that needed it.
Sweet thank you! I appreciate the help
@@kyleallan7734 anytime
I have ac lines.
Have you noticed any power gains?
haven't taken it to the track yet. But I doubt my butt dyno would be that accurate 😆 hopefully its noticeable
hi bro, is it non vanos engine type?
Yes it is
@@ricotheunprofessional alright would like to get one of it hahaha
@@sufrymongoose1505 i love it. the torque curve isn't as good as with vanos but it forces me to drive more aggressively so i aint complaining
Their are not equal :/
From the flange to the merge each pipe is somewhat similar in length. Although I didn't use a string to measure it accurately, I'd love to see someone to accurately measure them.
@@ricotheunprofessional this guy did it:

But they do not have so much footage of the car, I would love to hear it revving!
