I dig this tune. Makes me think of Pinkerton, emotionally.
Mild Kratz totally
Love this song already
St. Mary is probably jamming out to her own song
This is my favorite song in the album pacific daydream love you Weezer ❤️❤️❤️❤️
the first time i heard this song i accidentally thought that this song was about being taken to the afterlife by some graceful, ethereal ferryman-esque figure, and honestly it's very hard not to think of it that way now
This and QB blitz are the best
Weeked Woman and Mexican Fender are also very good tho the 2 songs you named are definetly the bests on Pacific Daydream
With Weekend Women
And Get Right
My thoughts exactly Chief. I can't listen to anything else XD
Yes
Sad people are panning this as one of the lesser Weezer albums. I honestly think its a great addition to their discography.
Ryan Tenholder I’m not saying it’s as good as Pinkerton but I think like Pinkerton, in 10 years this album will be reviewed in high regard
Agreed. I think it's one of my personal favorites of theirs, and I personally prefer when they emphasize their pop side over their rock side.
Am gonna say just as good as Pinkerton and this song is beautiful
Hear hear
If any of their albums deserve more credit it's Maladroit, not this pop trash.
hits hard ngl
Pretty dope
album = niceeee
I hope this album grows on me because at the current moment I'm not 100% digging it. I _kind of_ like this one...
woah you don't like any of the songs? I immediately like almost all of them
Jeff I can agree with the original commenter here. Feels a lot like Raditude/Red but with no rap. I get that they’re trying to experiment, but as someone who appreciates them for their rock background (along with many other fans) I’m not digging it. Hoping Black Album 1-ups this.
Yeah me too man. With a lot of these, they start good, then just fall flat. I really want to like them but they're all just so meh.
i feel like this album is basically a bunch of leftover songs from different albums. like Sweet Mary sounds like it's from EWBAITE, and La Mancha Screw Job sounds like it's from the White Album. QB Blitz, atleast to me, sounds like it could be in Pinkerton. maybe that's just me though.
well it was co-written by Josh Alexander who also co-wrote "Da Vinci" and "Lonely Girl"..
Is this song about weed ?😂 like that’s what I’m getting from this song
This is my favorite track on the album, and in a long time. When those harmonies kick in on the final chorus I swear it's like a religious experience for me. I've been waiting for that sound for a long time. Thank you.
Exactly spot on. You said exactly how I feel. Something about it gives you goosebumps and a breezy feeling even though your indoors.
My goodness this album really grew on me. I cannot stop listening to this album. Weezer will forever have a special place in my heart.
When this album was just released, I always repeated this song, and when my first daughter was born, I always sang this song while carrying it to accompany her to sleep, and that way always succeeded in making she sleep, now she's 4 years old and when I play this song she sang with me.
mantap pak!
That's beautiful ❤️
Awww this made me tear up.
That's sweet
I will watch your concert later in Indonesia, I want to meet all of you guys pleaseee *begging*
R.I.P Mary i will love you always babe 10/17/2017
Religious experiences don't come often in music. These lyrics for me are a beautiful play on the Catholic concept of Mary and the elusive love of the perfect woman, a love that elevates us. One of the happiest tunes to come out of a band in the last couple of years. I feel like being kind when I listen to this.
Im pretty sure this song is about weed
@@darkenopsia rivers alluded to the song being about the virgin Mary in an interview he had awhile back when the album had first come out
I thought this a bit as well as a Catholic
"I wanna show my gRADITUDE."
TRIGGERED
B E S T B U Y
Pacific Daydream ft. Lil Wayne
This and Weekend Woman are the best on the new record. Why? Because they emphasize the sweet longing and purity that Rivers is capable of. Genuine emotive songwriting. If only the whole album had this emotional candid purity. Weezer all the way
Monster Mash SO FUCKING GOOD
No, it's because the other songs suck
yes i agree completely
Those are my favourite tracks too!
Monster Mash and QB blitz imo
When I am all on my own
One foot is in the grave
My Sweet Mary comes
To help me to find my way
So I give her my thanks
I don't know what I would do
Without out my Sweet Mary love
To help me to make it through
Ghost come out at nighttime
I hear the rumble of thunder
Flashes of light to follow her
Wherever she goes so pretty
But I will never ever touch her
Cause if I did she might die
I just smile and look on
As she leads me to the wondrous sights
When I am all on my own
One foot is in the grave
My Sweet Mary comes
To help me to find my way
So I give her my thanks
I don't know what I would do
Without out my Sweet Mary love
To help me to make it through
What did I do to deserve this
Give my life to a tiger
Give my last food and water
To a strange wayfarer
I'm so blessed in this life
I wanna show my gratitude
She is so beautiful when she flies
I wanna see her fly high away
Who is she?'
I wanna know
Who is she?
(My heart is stolen)
I wanna know
(My heart is stolen)
Who is she?'
I wanna know
Who is she?
(My heart is stolen)
I wanna know
(My heart is stolen)
Who is she?'
I wanna know
Who is she?
(My heart is stolen)
I wanna know
(My heart is stolen)
When I am all on my own
One foot is in the grave
My Sweet Mary comes
To help me to find my way
So I give her my thanks
I don't know what I would do
Without out my Sweet Mary love
To help me to make it through
I 💗 This so much!!!
Ilham Fadhilendi
Thanks for droppin the words
Thank u ♡
Ilham Fadhilendi 💓💓💓💓💓Thanks!!!!Again!!!💓
Showing gratitude for the lyrics 🙏
My favorite track in all honesty. So dreamy.
It's so good!
Yeah! ❤️
Its perfection. The build up to the harmony. It actually gets better each time I listen. Very rare
George Harrison vibes in intro boys
yea
They didn't manage to change the name of the song, huh... Good track tho
Very beginning sounds like Thirty-Three by Smashing Pumpkins
Song title?
George Harrison covered Bob Dylan's "Absolutely Sweet Marie"
I LOVE THIS SONG. LIFE IS HARD AND TO KNOW JESUS AND MARY ARE HERE FOR US AT ANY TIME MAKES ME CRY
QB blitz is a pretty good song. But I feel like this a way better song than it. Idk why, it just has more raw energy than not just QB blitz but in the entire record
Damn this legit got me a bit teary eyed. How dare you make me feel emotions, Rivers.
This song is so good. Love how it grows at the second chorus, and then again at the second verse when you expect it to kinda go back down again. Then that bridge is awesome too.
The song “Sweet Mary” by Weezer was written about Mary, mother of Jesus. Listening to the lyrics too, you can definitely see the inspiration:
_"When I am all on my own One foot is in the grave My Sweet Mary comes To help me to find my way So I give her my thanks I don't know what I would do Without out my Sweet Mary love To help me to make it through"_
I think this song actually has helped increase the devotion of many Catholics to Mary, who they regard as their blessed mother, it asks the question that they've been trying to grasp in understanding her:
Who is she? I wanna know Who is she? (My heart is stolen) I wanna know (My heart is stolen
Part of Mary’s beauty to a lot of Christians is that they don’t quite understand her, she was no goddess, but believe that God chose her to play a huge part in our redemption through Christ. So thank you Weezer for writing this song.
Has to be, right? I mean, an artist can create something and the meaning can be found outside of their intention, like an unwittingly correct prophet
K. Being "devoted" to Mary is not required, or requested by God. She is to be respected for her role in Christ's life, and answer God's call, ut any devotion to her shine directed to Christ. She is not to be prayed to, or worshipped in any way.
I had not known Weezer until this song was randomly played on my Spotify.
At the first listened, I thought this song must be huge because it's has the smell of greatness!
But I could not find people talk about it so much, and no live version! What a pity.
I shared it to my friends and everyone liked it. So, this song is underrated!
Criminally underrated. Not only one of my favorite Weezer songs, but probably among my favorites by any artist.
Cracker Jack song. Rivers is up there with the Beatles. Dude is unstoppable
Its great to see you guys keep putting the best music out there and even if there has been some changes to the band i still love it keep it up, support from argentina :D
The first part of the Verse reminds me of Butterfly
I adore the video. They're making something impossible, and that's so freaking amazing. I mean, there's someone swinging out there in the space, were there's no gravity! Bro, whaaat. And where is it holding to??? A cosmic dragon? There's a human that can actually be on space without any equipment to breath, they made fantasy real bro. Loved it.
Great song, and for those speculating, this about The Blessed Mother.
This song should have been one of the singles.
This has to be about faith .... It almost makes me cry
And the best notification of the year goes to Weezer!
This song made my day, heart warming, This new album truly bring me to the pacific daydream :')
My friend told me to listen to this album I'm not really a big fan of music like this but he said what he listen to it he had a nervous breakdown so wondered why and listening to it now it starts off so happy let it hits you right in the feels, has it always been like this?
Mary helps me find my way too, Weezer.
Rivers, you write such beautiful songs
Best track so far!
Def one of the best songs on the album
notification squad bois
you have a very nice garfield pic
Best song off PD! Weezer has made maybe the greatest comeback in rock history with their last three records. I love this song and this band so very much.
QB blitz was my favorite then Sweet Mary came and i just smiled!!
Such a beautiful song.
nice argument,
one problem
god this was perfect. There was probably a different meaning but this song firs my girlfriend named mary Sooo well. 8 months together and counting!
This album sonically soars. Who is the producer?
I hear Brian Wilson all over this album. Great influence to have.
Can't wait for Melonhead to review this album
RNGrino Kripperino He'll tear it apart tbh
RNGrino Kripperino eat some watermellon and write the review while your mouth is full.....lol....
I almost never agree with Melonthony Headtano but I still love watching his reviews
RNGrino Kripperino it's gonna get a "NOT GOOD" review probably lol
4/10 boiz. expected tbh
I hit that play on Spotify the second the clock struck 12:00
Who is she?? I wanna knowwwww
Great job Weezer. Another solid song. Good guitar solo would probably make this song way better.
To me this song is like if let it be the Beatles and stand inside your love by the smashing pumpkins had a pop rock baby lol and it's glorious.
Kinda think he's referring to Mother Mary.
David Wise i think so too.
Or marijuana
The beauty of a great song, it's what you hear in it. Perhaps, we hear what we are connected with. Yes, likely, it was written with marijuana in mind? However, it sure seems like a fitting connection for those being drawn to Mother Mary to help point them to the Lord. Was Cuomo spiritually inspired? hmmm.
One of the best songs in Weezer's entire catalog
This song is by far one of my favorites from Weezer ever. Beautiful and emotional plus it has the classic Rivers & Co sound.
The best song of the album. This one.
This album is the second biggest birthday gift ever!
Micheloud.Matias I’m assuming Stranger Things 2 was the first?
BlinD i In first place is my birth (that was a big surprise for me xD), then in second place it’s a tie between PD and ST.
WEEZER!
Love it!
My favourite from Pacific Daydream ❤️
That opening riff sounds like something from Melloncollie and the Infinite Sadness.
Absolutely crushing. This is definitely a callback to Make Believe.
By far the best song on the album
that bridge is beautiful
When it hits 2:23 I'm in love with being alive and having lived and listened that-long.
My favorite song from this album. Gracious, bittersweet, bright melody I love.
The modern day Let It Be, such a wonderful song about The Virgin Mary, Panayia
This album is amazing. This song is one of best things i've heard in many years. Can anyone explain if this was a children thing he did for his kids or he really loves Sweet Mary?
This is a great song!
Sweet like mary
This my favorite song from this album very underrated
One of my favorite songs of the album. Great album weezer 👍
Perfect song
Criminally Underrated Song
😕🫡
I KNEW THEYD PULL THROUGH THIS ALBUM
wow this is great
Love you Pat, Mary remember when... It was fun Clarence NY..love u💗
1. Weekend Woman 2. QB Blitz and 3. The rest of the album are stellar. This is Weezer's soft heartfelt side everyone...think of a few scrapped tracks from Make Believe I guess
Yes at last
Awesome!
This song reminds me of Pink Triangle, but in all the better ways.
it's a great song, greetings from Colombia!
The next song worth to get obsessed with 🤤
The change is sooo pet sounds, i love it
This song is absolutely flawless. From the vocals, to the build up and the end vocals. God this song is so brilliant. Makes me think of the beach on a beautiful day in California.
No se. me gusto , pero me gusto mas el album blanco ..
If you ever see a turtle on a fence post, you know it had some help. Bob Todd said he saw a turtle climb a tree once ha.
Am i the only fan that thinks this song is about weed?
Where is that poor kid's damn parents!?
This is just what I needed to make it through my research paper. BLESS UP THANK YOU WEEZER
Starting with a George Harrison tribute guitar riff and going into a song with a very Jeff Lynne vibe, this is an example of the fantastic songwriting Weezer is capable of. This one builds up as it goes on and really shines. After they finish the upcoming Black Album (AKA Radi2de) filled with electronics and Hip Hop and get it out of their system, I'd love to hear another PD-like album with the band writing with classic songwriters like Jeff Lynne and Brian Wilson who's now writing a song about Weezer and recording it with other Beach Boys helping out. That would be a great follow-up after Blatitude comes out.
I love Weezer so much
this is loooovee
You guys are genius. Keep rocking =W=
My favorite!
U look just like Buddy Holly.
