Gregg back there on keys with that voice from God. Soul and gritty. This band was just unreal.
They had 2 guitars 2 drummers, and one of the most soulful singers ever. Amazing.
This band is the reason I love the blues.
pure raw greg allman, early allman bros were on fire
Eric Anderson888 they weren’t “on fire”. They were fire.
💜
Aretha Franklin was recording an album and wasn't happy with the studio guitar player so she told her people at the studio "Get me the white guy". They new exactly whom Aretha meant. Dead way too young. For blue eyes soul Loan Me a Dime. Boz Skaggs vocals.
@@thesedreamsarefree clapton layla was derek and the dominos ther frist time it was play which was clapton and Duane Allman
@@thesedreamsarefree yeah i watch a documentary on their record company cant remember right now but they said they had to add more audio track for layla because the guitar was so complex. I always thought that was a cool fact.
Yes! And the true soul of the band, when he died they were not the same, couldn't be, that guitar could neither be replicated nor replaced.
I bought this album about 50 years ago, the greatest
Good God we are old!
@@armadillotoe midnight riders
Tom Lehr it’s in my collection 🎸🎤🎸
My father was there and passed the gift of the Allman Brothers to me as a young child. It has not left.
Whats more amazing is that voice and guitar talent when this was recorded they were very young.
Greatest band in rock history. I’ve seen them 48 times live. Doesn’t get better and there is a piece of my soul missing now that their gone.
Man I love the Allman brothers. My pops used to always listen to "Statesboro Blues",and I remember being like 10 listening to it, and I've been hooked ever since! I love that era of music. They just don't make music like this anymore!!
Best Blues Band ever.
Gregg Allman was the absolute TRUTH,man. As a black woman I LOVE him so much. His voice is so sexy and amazing. A lot of the songs he wrote were very autobiographical. He was so talented and is sorely missed.
Southern rock seeps into your bones.
If you went from Whipping Post to this India, what 2 superior songs to choose. Greg crushes both of them!
I can't believe how far down I had to scroll to find WHIPPING POST mentioned!!! One of best blues songs ever!!!
"Seven Turns" is another good ABB tune.
Dewayne Allman was a hell of a guitar player before he was killed in a motorcycle accident. Of course Gregg kept the music coming for many years, one of my all time favorite bands.. you may want to check out Stormy Monday, Or Melissa.....
Duane.
armadillotoe you’re right sorry
Stormy Monday is on of my favorites, im really big on the instrumentals, high falls and in memory of Elizabeth Reed are probably my all time favorites
Yeah. Best Stormy Monday cover ever.
Duane you Philistine .
Greg Allman was the most beautiful man I ever laid eyes on. And that voice........made panties just fall off!
Southbound, Melissa, Dreams, ... the list goes on forever, there are no bad songs. Could you please not pause during the guitar solos? or at least back it up 10 seconds after pausing? thanks
I love the Allman Brothers , I got the chance to see them live in '92 . The BEST $25 for the ticket i ever spent, They played a 4 hour show . Greg had just rejoined them off his I'm no Angel solo album tour.
Yup. Same here. Saw them in 91 and 94 and they jammed for 4 hours each time. Badass band!
This is NOT " southern rock". This is str8 blues! Duane Allman was probably the greatest slide player ever and died @24 RIP Skydog!💖🙏✌
Come & Go Blues, Ain’t wasting time no more. No way out & Statesboro blues. Then Van Morrison, Sweet Thing, TB Sheets, I’ve been working. Everyone will say into the mystic too. Side note I’m only 38 & listen to more music from the 60s & 70s then the 90s stuff I grew up on.
I've loved this song for 40 years!! 😊 Next, please listen to "Dreams" and "Stormy Monday." Hope you're well!
Stormy Monday gets to me every time I hear it.
I got to see the Allman Brothers in '98. I really dig on "Mellissa" and "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed".
" Sailing cross the devil sea" another great one from the vault. I would also like to see your reaction to more southern rock bands like " Little Feat ".
That's a gripe of mine you have bands like Allmans,Skynrd and the like that put out tons of great stuff but the only stuff that they hear is the early hits.
Yeah, girl! Come on with it! So happy you found ABB!
You gotta check out the Tedeschi Trucks Band next. Derek Trucks is the nephew of ABB drummer, Butch Trucks. Derek used to play with ABB when he was 11!
Greg Allman was in his early 20s. He sounds so seasoned like he's been singing for 40 yrs! 💞✌
That one is so good. I am glad you listened to that version. They put that together virtually flawlessly.
for my $$$$, one of the best blues performances ever recorded
Gregg's also great on "Please Call Home". I have a feeling you'd really like that one
It never fails. Every react video I've watched for this tune ... the listener makes that stank face within a minute of starting the track. Yessir.
One of my favorite AB tunes. Glad you liked it.
Loving your interpretations...soul is right.and love those crying guitars
Hola saludos desde chile 👀
Yes!!! One Way Out and Sweet Melissa next!! You will love them !! Great reaction💓💓💓💓💓💓
so many great songs. listen to Please call Home, oncoming Traffic, come and go blues...then theres the more widely known hits like Statesboro blues and Mellissa. all of them are great.
Allman bros. One way out (live) from the fillmore................
i can see it in your veins, what a pure reaction to something so so ................
Can you handle the heavy Dickie Betts instrumentals like In Memory of Elizabeth Reed and Les Brers in A Minor?
Hi Beautiful. Very soulful. Love his voice.ove The Allman Bro's Band. Throwback to my younger days. Be blessed.
Great song writing! Just incredible musical talent👊 I'll always love the Alman Brothers...
It's fun watching you discover Allman brothers. Also, just want to give props for the cool Alice poster behind you.
Love me some Allman Brothers. Wish you could listen to the entire first side of this album at one sitting.
Have wondered for 50 years where the Brothers would have gone musically if Duane had lived. The tightest band on stage I've ever heard. They had a musical empathy for each other that kept their jamming from becoming a self-absorbed mess like happens with so many other groups. You can't go wrong with any of their songs but check out Jessica, Whipping Post, Stand Back, and anything at all from the Fillmore East album and you won't regret it. Promise.
Seeing as how this is the type of song that makes you automatically want to close your eyes. , it isn't the best song to listen to for the first time while you're driving, LOL!
Home from hospital and Allman Brothers too😁🥰🤩❤❤
Dam very soulful love it
Check out "Melissa" by them
Agreed
Love that song ;)
@@melissabrecosky6520 Did you know Gregg Allman wrote that when he was only 17? Amazing
That and "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" were two of my favorites. As if any two of the Allman Bros. many songs can be called favorites...there are so very many, thank goodness.
@@rondohunter8966 Yeah that's for sure. It's hard to put them in an order but I've always loved "Jessica". Especially after I saw it live and now can actually hear better all those parts where the lead is two guitars playing in harmony instead of one.
You need to react to Loan Me A Dime, by Boz scaggs w/Dwayne Allman on guitar! It's AMAZING!!!!!
Indeed.
Most Definitely!!!
Wonderful!!!!
Key To The Highway, been covered by a number of artists, the Allmans do a nice job with it...
written by Duane . songbirded by his little bro Greg. the ALLMAN BROTHERS
Blue Sky, One Way Out.
Liked and subscribed and shared
You have to listen to Queen of Hearts by Gregg Allman.
Now we talkin’!
Oh my gosh..... I LOVE Queen of Hearts. One of my FAVORITES, along with MultiColored Lady
The ABB and Skynyrd introduced me to the blues when I was a teen. From there I dug into their influences. Duane's slide on Statesboro Blues and One way out are real classics too. Now my playlists that I use for working out are a real mix of influences, and my Sirius presets include channel 74, Bluesville. Just no substitute for these classic roots of modern rock - like Muddy said in 1975: The blues had a baby, and they named it rock and roll.
Soul shine is another good one from them
Missing the brothers at the Beacon, March madness
This is the type of music you listen to and realize just how little soul music today has.
He also played the Slide Guitar in the song Layla by Derick and the Dominoes. The Allmans was one of the first Jam Bands. James Gang,Funk 49. Joe Walsh
Thanks, kiddo!! Rock On 😎
that awesome Hammond B3, Duane and Dickie never overplaying, and Greg's voice- like one commenter said, "it's just not fair"
She got that stank face going LOL
I’ve seen the Brothers do this live many times with “Don’t want you no more intro, it’s a killer song man, sadly I’ll never see it again.
How badass is that alblum cover
Listen to their version of “Stormy Monday “ also. I’m sure at this point you’ve already heard it since I’m late to the party by a year.
Poco Good Feeling to know
Also rambin'man.
Try Stormy Monday off of the Fillmore Esst album. You will love it.
Try Statesboro Blues, a cover of Blind Willie McTell
Gregg was married 7 times so he has a lot to sing about!
Ha ha!
If you like the soulful sound of the Allman Brothers. Listen to In Memory of Elizabeth Reed. Great instrumental
Dereck Trucks, the greatest slide Player ever..Try Some of his Indian stuff...mind blowing...sahip terri bandi and other classical indian sitar music...he is a master at worck..
Review "Dreams" but a live featuring either Jack Pearson on guitar,or with the one and only Derek Trucks ! Needless to say, this will be from later line ups of the ABB,but absolutely worth discovering.
Listen to soulshine, im from macon ga the home of the Allman brothers band, and where the brothers now lay to rest, there is or will never be any band as good as this ever again!
BEST ALL TIME BAND OF SECULAR MUSIC ALSO GREG ONE OF THE SEXIEST MEN WHEN HE WAS ALIVE R,I,P, HOPE I SEE YOU IN THE SKY NUMBER ONE FAN PLAY SOULSHINE
"ol-mun" Brothers Band...
The ABB🤠🤠🤠
Thats a great song you would probably also enjoy Please Call Home, Dreams, Gamblers Roll also if you haven't you should checkout Gov't Mule, JJ Grey and Mofro, and Marcus King band all SOUL.
"Allman" isn't pronounced like that. The "man" part is pronounced like "mun", not like "man".
...they were an all-man band, though... (*rimshot*)
I told her it was like " almond", w/o the D~😉
Whatever, u seem like u r 7 years old
I havent seen any recs for Dreams. Incredible blues with some psychedelia sprinkled over the top. The studio original is probably the best version.
Have you checked out Stevie Ray Vaughan Texas flood song. And check out Sugarland band song is “Stay” it will will make you cry sister.. also check out Sweet Melissa song from the Allman Brothers
R.I.P. Brabro.
Rest in Peace Duane. Rest in Peace Barry. Rest in Peace Greg. The brothers are reunited. The drummer has also passed away just a couple years ago, can someone fill his name in for me?
Stand Back
Duane was on Gutair
As far as something in this vein give Wet Willie a try any live version of Grits ain't Groceries or Shout Bamalama serious r+b in a southern rock band
Check out Aron Lewis "country boy "
Try this live version......this is "Don't Want You No More" > "Not My Cross to Bear" as it is on the album. This is the last lineup of the band in 2014, which is the year they finally retired. Derek and Warren's guitar work is outstanding! Allman Brothers albums were great, but the live stuff is where it's always been at for me! From the first time I saw them in Piedmont Park for free to the final tour, they've been the soundtrack of my life for the last 50 years! I miss them terribly! ua-cam.com/video/oD3XdimfHEs/v-deo.html
Gregg could have sung a phone book and make it his. 😀
I love your videos. This band's name is pronounced Al-mon bros. Not All-man brothers.
Yes, white boys can sing and play the blues, check out Johnny Winter whiter than snow.
Try: Joe Cocker’s Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood, soulful stuff
Darling it's pronounced All..mun..... in my opinion greatest band ever you need to get on some Fillmore East... my favorite In Memory of Elizabeth Reed
Hey sweetie, let me suggest another brokenhearted song for you to react to: LeAnn Rimes - What Have I Done. You will love it.
You would've been diggin' on this sister, with me an' the boys smokin' a bowl, and cruzin' the streets in my 1964 Dodge Dart.
So much pain, and a sad guitar.
Allman = like Almond not All-man so much..
It's not pronounced All Man it's pronounced Allmen. ;-)
Yeah I know that kinda rubs me wrong too.
Poor India fell in the Allmans 🐇 hole enoy you need to listen to fillmore east hold on
Allman pronounced like almond without the "D", dear.
try soulshine
