Oh Kristen, please give yourself some grace! I’m going to speak for the majority of us- we think you are incredible and so very relatable! Most importantly though, your girls think you are the best mom ever. They see how intentional you are and all the effort you put in to make the holiday season so special ❤I also want to add that I was raised by a single mama. Money was always tight but her love and effort was more than we could ever ask for. Today, as I was baking my mom’s Christmas cookie recipes with my 2 year old, we were jamming to the Christmas music my mom always played. My point is, I don’t remember the decorations my mom put up but I will always remember the recipes and the music❤
I agree with you! When I was young my parents didn't do a lot of Christmas decor. They did a pretty tree, lights on the house outside and maybe a table centerpiece on the kitchen table. What I remember most was coloring under the Christmas tree at night with the colored lights on. You couldn't give me a million dollars to replace those memories! ❤️
I 100% agree with you im a traditional decor at christmas and most of my decorations have been passed down from my mum and a lot of thrifted stuff from charity shops xx
The true spirit is to do what you love. So many of us aren't watching to be influenced by what you have but are inspired to give what we have our best. Your home is beautiful and most of all its HOME❤❤❤
I LOVE your home. It’s not what I call a “hobby lobby” home. It’s got tons of personality and history. I’d rather see a home filled with stuff from the past then the junk that’s being produced nowadays. Give yourself grace and know we love you and your family. Time spent with your babies is far more important than impressing anyone else. You’ll blink and they’ll be all grown up.
As a mama and teacher in Georgia, your priorities are aligned perfectly with God, Family, and Home. As you sit there questioning everything, your sweet girls wake up knowing they are loved, treasured, and making beautiful memories in your home. You are an inspiration in showing that you can create beauty with items that others cannot appreciate. Your home is gorgeous and filled with love. Hold your head high because you inspire many, including your family, by just by being you. Merry Christmas!!
Nobody that matters will judge you for trying so hard and making the most of what you have. .You are blessed to be able to make a beautiful home without having a big budget. Those little girls are going to grow up so fast. You do a good job of making a beautiful home and taking good care of your family. I am proud of you .That is not an easy accomplishment.Merry Christmas! I love your dog. he is so cute.
My kids are grown now and my husband has passed. I was a pastors daughter and we never owned a home, it was the churches. When I got married my husband and I lived very simply even tho he made a really good living. I've always shopped sales, yard sales, & side of the road. It doesn't matter what type of home or furnishings we have. We just need to be welcoming to share a bowl of soup or a iced tea with someone. Lately my kids have reminded me what a cozy warm home they always remembered. That's all that matters. A peaceful clean home where Christ is the head.
You are so blessed. So, please stop calling your blessings garbage. Remember, ALL good gifts come from the Father of Lights. I was a divorced working mom of three and had a lot less than what you have. The LORD saw me through that time. Consequently, my faith and trust in the Him grew, and now my cup runneth over. Be encouraged and continue to trust in The One Who is Faithful. ❤️
Kristen I am 65 years old and what you do is what many women through the years have wanted to do. Live a happy life on a budget to stay home with her children, and still find cute things for them to wear. To be able to make good choices with their food for them to eat. To allow them to run and play and have their mom there for their needs. You putting together a hodgepodge of decorations is just fine❣️ Don’t stress out about it, you are making memories with your children and I think that is awesome ❣️❣️
Kristen….your home is exactly that, a home. Please don’t like the enemy tell you any different. It is beautiful!! You are teaching your children..and those of us who watch what truly matters! You are choosing to glorify God is your life. What an amazing legacy you are leaving your babies!! Continue to seek what last…walking along this journey of following Jesus with you… Grace and peace
Your home has such a feeling of warmth and comfort because you have that. My husband has collected discarded furniture, dishes everything you can imagine. He’s fixed things up to make our home feel like an old 1930 farm home. He says when he finds something discarded he imagines how the original owner felt when they bought it new. How happy they were. He says he is taking care of these items he’s refurbished for the people that are no longer alive who once owned them. Modern homes do not have the feel that your’s and mine have. Please don’t measure yourself by someone else’s yard stick. Your warmth and light heartedness inspire me every time I watch you. Thank you for that.
That voice in your head telling you that your home is junky? That is the enemy! You inspire all of us! Your thrifted, hand me down style is stunning! Everyone wants your home! You have a gift of taking cast off items and making a fresh stylish decor! Rock it girl!
I just want to tell you that the things you are insecure about are exactly why I watch your channel. I LOVE your creativity with free and thrifted items and see you use so many things I would have passed on and it inspires me! I get so many great ideas from you and your house is gorgeous. I don't want to waste my money on full price, cheaply made items. Thrifting is amazing! I need you to teach me what to look for and how to use it. Merry Christmas!
I raised 7 children. The years they were small, our house was decorated by them....with perhaps a little input from me here and there. Now, I spend a lot more time on details. Happy children was my goal, not a perfectly appointed home. You do great. Gorgeous. Enjoy your holidays ♥️
From one mama to another, you’re doing wonderfully. Don’t let the enemy steal your joy! I am a mama of two. I also had similar thoughts. My children were very young, I was pregnant, with my second when my husband died. The Lord was there to walk through it with me. Yard sales and thrift stores were my go to. You are a proverbs woman don’t let anybody or anything steal it from you! Your children will rise up and call you blessed! Thank you for showing other young women, and me an old one now in her mid 50s that there is so much to enjoy in life, in decorating and making a house a warm and loving home. ❤️ God bless you and your family ❤️
Kristen, I’m 63 and have been following you for about 6-8 months. The reason is because of your genuine self and you do it on a budget as do I. You are absolutely adorable! Please don’t be insecure. You are an inspiration to me and your viewers. You are fearfully and wonderfully made by our Lord! You do not have a trash house. Those hard words from the enemy. Remember once that leaves you mouth he hears it. So don’t say it. Lol Keep being you even if you think it’s late. My name is Sandy and live in New Braunfels Texas and live in an apartment. We all do what we can with what we have. Love you sister in Christ.
Don’t beat yourself up. You have done a beautiful job with your home. It’s so cozy and inviting! I would much rather see antique or thrifted decor rather than everything Hobby Lobby. 🎄
I feel nothing but inspiration when looking at your beautiful home and watching your videos. I don’t have children yet, but my husband and I don’t even decorate as beautifully as you. Let alone, you do all of it while raising three children and juggling everything in between. What you are able to do with your means, it’s unbelievable. Your home and all your decor is absolutely stunning and I am so in love with it all. I’m sorry you felt those things, like you mentioned “trash house”. Those are lies as you said! Your home is so special and you’re doing all that you can - and it shows! Happy holidays!
No no no! Stop the comparison…stop measuring yourself by other people. Your home is beautiful, and your collection of one of a kind items is stunning. Anyone can go to Hobby Lobby, Home Store, etc and buy a bunch of matchy matchy junk. I know when your daughters are adults they will remember their warm and loving holidays and what you created for them, and that is a special gift you are giving to them. I would love to find all of your treasures and have the eye to put them together. You are you, and never ever negate and doubt yourself. You rock.
Thank you for keeping it real. You have your priorities where they should be, your family. My kids are both seniors. They don't remember all the "stuff" surrounding Christmas. They remember baking cookies, going caroling, looking at Christmas lights, and cuddling together watching holiday specials. The time we spent making memories was way more precious than money spent.
Hi Kristen, thank you for sharing your thoughts with us! I think it is absolutely the enemy trying to steal your joy with those thoughts and feelings of discontentment. I often get these feelings once in a while too and feel that none of my things go together and start to find it hard to enjoy the things I do have. Sometimes I need to take a break from watching UA-cam videos or looking at Pinterest when I start to feel this way and redirect my energy into something else. It almost always helps! I’m also sure your girls don’t see anything except the beautiful and lovely home their mom decorated and made festive for the season. Stay positive, you are lovely and so is your home! Thanks for sharing.
I love watching your humble videos. Your home is gorgeous and I love your thrifted decor. Don’t change for the world, let the world change because of your humbleness and kindness. You are a blessing!
I have surrounded myself with things I love in my home, I have collected old vintage things since I was 11, at 62 I still love old and vintage. If you love what you have, embrace it, I have had people my whole life make opinions about my place, but most say it is just perfectly me, warm, cozy and inviting. Please be kind to yourself, your place is darling, sweet and inviting.
You are so cute! It makes me sad that you don’t think your decor is nice! It is beautiful, real, and authentic! The new stuff at the store is fake and plastic. Don’t let those negative thoughts steal your joy. You just keep doing what you’re doing and you will be alright! God bless you and your family!
Your home is decorated with curated treasures not trash. You have learned to make things beautiful with what you have and you prioritize your life with god and family first, that’s true inspiration ❤
Giving your best has nothing to do with what you own. It has everything to do with your talents in decorating, being a mom and wife, and your talents in many other things.
Your home has so much beauty and visual interest. The sustainability of your lifestyle has been so inspiring to me! And I adore how the new puppers already follows you around with lovestruck eyes and a wagging tail. 🐕 ❤
Nobody can do it all, we all just do the best we can and somehow it always seems to work out! You're doing great, please don't lose the enjoyment of decorating your home with your great thrifted finds!!!
I promise you way more of your viewers can relate to you by purchasing what they can afford as can relate to the UA-cam channels that will drop tons of money on the name brand current trend items without blinking an eye. One of the main reasons I like watching your channel is because you spend the time finding all of your decor and household items that they make them little treasures to you, your family, and your viewers. You will value an item that you thrift way more than others that can afford to buy high ticket items every year. Your thrifts items are unique and often one of a kind making your decor that much more interesting and fun to watch. Thanks for showing us how to make the best out of what we have and can afford all while being real and relatable. Merry Christmas to your family.
Kristen, I watch your channel because your content is real, no smoke and mirrors. I LOVE how you are not a "cookie cutter" You Tuber. The way in which you decorate your home is so refreshing, I have copied some of the ideas you've had from your last home and used them in mine. Your Christmas decor has always been simple and sweetly beautiful and best of all original! Your decorations are for you and your family to enjoy, THAT is all that really matters, we just are lucky to come along for the enjoyable ride! What you shared in today's Christmas decor was wonderful! Kristen, please never think you do not inspire, we love you because you bring plenty of inspiration and intentional thought into our lives!
Hi Momma, give yourself a break!! You did a fabulous job with your new home. I remember trying to decorate with 3 kids/animals etc. it gets better. I personally do not watch you tubers that have the “perfect house, with the perfect decor” because it’s not real!! This is not a competition, please don’t feel that way. I watch you because you are REAL with sometimes a mess, still real!! You are fine just the way you are!! ❤❤
Kristen, please give yourself some credit. You have a beautiful home and family. I rather watch you decorate with your lovely thrifted and vintage finds versus everybody's same commercially bought X-Mas decor. I love your videos, and look forward to what you post. Keep it up and enjoy your family time.❤🎄❤
Im 73 and it warms my heart to see a young lady love her new home. Honey, I had a huge 5000 sq ft home that took me 7 years to decorate. So take your time and only get what you love. When decorating it gets really messy until you’re done. Dont strive fir perfection, enjoy the journey.❤️
Sweetest Kristen, in the first minutes of your video I was just thinking to myself how beautiful your home is with your crisp white linens, pops of blue and the garland display on your headboard. You’ve made beautiful choices with your second hand curated finds. Your house is filled with love and beauty that shines brighter than any so called Pinterest -Instagram worthy space! I love watching your videos of you creating your beautiful home! 💕
Hi Kristen, Honey you need to give yourself some grace. I am 57 years old and I just adore how you are so honest and down to earth . There is nothing wrong with what you are doing, your home is lovely. I love the fact that you decorate your home with thrift finds, I do the same thing. You and your family are very busy in ministry, plus you just went through the lost of your fur baby. Take the time to enjoy your family and make the memories that you will cherish down the road. We all love you for your honesty, we are not tuning in for a perfect house. Just enjoy the season and what it means. If you need to take a break, do it we are all still going to be here. Love Grace ,
That’s the enemy attacking you .. don’t let the enemy steal your joy in your new home!! I love your home and your style of decorating .. it’s beautiful and got hints from you and I’m 67!! Look up.. God is so faithful !
Stop putting yourself down hun. As a women I do the same but please you are better than you know. Life is not easy and I am glad in a way you air and display your through feelings but just be good to yourself as women we need to do this for ourselves. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas. Thank you for your inspiration and life event you share with us.
I only have one little girl, but nap time is my time to get stuff done and decorate. We all feel ya when it comes to the comparison game. I have to check myself every now and then and remember to have GRATITUDE. I have an amazing family and everything else is just icing on the cake.
My dear, I wish you didnt feel like you need to compare to others when you do so well with how u decorate. Truly it's not what u have it's how you use what u have. I luv ur home and ur style. Your inspiration of decorating is wonderful. A breath of fresh air. God bless you my dear. 🙏🙏🙏
I love your vulnerability, it's so refreshing!! The honesty is what these other you tubers probably only wish they could display. You are winning because even with your insecurities you are strong enough to push through and triumph!! That is way more inspirational and noble than having that perfectly aesthetically pleasing decorated house. That is why we as your viewers rock with you. Honesty, vulnerability, and truthfulness is what will keep me subscribed!! It looks beautiful don't worry about keeping up with the Joneses.
We all have our insecurities, and it's good to talk it out. You have a beautiful house and you have a good eye 👁 for decor. Please don't be a " Debbie downer." It is not attractive. Be happy and grateful with what you have. Hugs.
Kristen, I love your home and your style. I would rather live in your "home" than big fancier "houses". I too have always been on a budget, but you have given me so much inspiration and I am 67. Girl, give yourself a break as you have 3 small girls and you have so much wonderful videos full of ideas. Yes, we all wish sometimes for bigger and better, but I would rather have a wonderful home and be happy than a large house and be miserable. Hugs to that heart of yours that feels less-than as God thinks you are precious and so do your viewers. You and Andrea from "Pine and Prospect Home" channel have similar walks of life. Look into connecting with her as I believe you two are a lot alike.
I am a very insecure 61 year old stroke survivor and you so inspire me just to do the best I can with what I have. We have been married 42 years and have always thrifted, thank you for letting me share your life, you’re such a beautiful woman and such a beautiful house! Go easy on yourself God loves you and so do I Hugs from KY!,
Don't worry about what others think. I know that's easier said than done. Your house looks lovely. You have a good eye. I come from an artistic family, married to a very talented interior designer & space planner who's had clients of every size of budget, all over the world, and have many creative and designer friends who have done the same. It's easier, sometimes, to spend more money on decorations and furnishings, but the results aren't always as successful as a small budget and using what you have. More creativity and vision are usually needed and results are usually more successful on a human level. You put love into your home and it shows. People usually oversee any negative things you might see. Don't tell them. No house is trash with love in it. And your home has plenty. Enjoy the season and your efforts! And I love your new bedroom lamps.
Please don’t feel insecure about your home, it’s gorgeous. I think your home has so much more character with your hand me downs and thrift store finds than if you went to a retail store and bought new. Your home is one of a kind, just like you!
You know, we can all go to Hobby Lobby (or wherever) and achieve a wonderfully decorated house, but it may not be a home. Kristen, you’re making a HOME full of love and character, and modeling that to so many. Don’t be ashamed of what you do and what you have, you are truly inspiring to so many out there!! We watch because you are inspiring us in countless ways!! Chin up! You are very special and very loved!😊
Ok if my first comment posted, please forgive me for multiple comments but I think I accidentally deleted it 🤦 Anyway, of all the homes on UA-cam, yours is one I get most excited about when a video pops up. And the funny thing is, it's for all the reasons you mentioned. I LOVE that everything is thrifted and handed down and budget friendly. I love that you make do. Because I too live that way. Id say the vast majority of us do. UA-cam and IG just give a false idea that everyone is loaded and breezing through when in reality we aren't. We want to see real homes with budgets and mom's trying their best and doing a great job with what they have. That's why your channel has grown so fast. I've been here since literally day one and I am so amazed at what you've done with your home and your channel in that amount of time.
I LOVE your house and style! YOU are an inspiration. It not about monetary things...they're only things. You have your priorities right! And your house still looks beautiful. Its hard to fight our thoughts sometimes, but I find if I do "me"(my true "me"), its always right for my family.😊
What is inspirational is that you put your family first and that you have created a beautiful home without a large amount of money. That is a rare and inspirational thing to do in our magazine-photo, everything-has-to-look-perfect culture. Real life is not perfect, as we all know, and life can be messy, unexpected and hard. Having been bedridden with chronic illness for four years has totally changed my perspective on life. The comparison game only brings us down, and what you have created is warm and beautiful. Your girls will remember the time spent reading and ice skating, not if Christmas wreaths matched or not! Good job to you!
Anyone who watches your channel, sees that you are family first. You had a very eventful year to say the least. Your home looks beautiful and thoughtful. I love your decorations! Enjoy your girls. They grow way too oooo fast.
If only you could see through my eyes what I see what I see; you would be pleasantly surprised on how we see you, your family and your beautiful home. Things doesn't have to be new, trendy or what everyone else is buying and using to be beautiful and inspiring. Your home looks beautiful and real and I love that. Pretending to have a picture perfect home is unrealistic unless you leave by yourself, without family, kids, dogs and all things that really matter in this life. I enjoyed your decorate with you and it given me some good ideas for my own home and what to look for in the thrift stores. Many blessings and Merry Christmas to you and your family!!!!!
Darlin you just keep it real. I had tubs up for at least 3 days as I decorate and then 1 tub was hanging around for 2 weeks. A mess always happens before the beauty in anything we do. Your home is warm and charming and staying with neutrals and red keeps things cohesive. I’m in my seventies, still enjoying the decorating. A couple of tricks I use is to remove anything that isn’t seasonal to a table and then store it in my Christmas tubs, and do a visual check of how much looks like clutter and how much gives me a smile. Whether I had lots to work with or little, as in my early years, I enjoyed playing. Another trick I’ve learned is to take a picture and then you can judge what is right or may need adjusting God bless you and your family ❤
Kristen to be honest I love your home style and decor more than the mass produced stuff. I also watch Julia and Hunter and they decorate with vintage stuff along with new things. I love vintage previously loved items. Girl, we used to have only $5 left after paying bills and groceries when we first got married. We were in the Army! Now life is very different but those years formed who I am. God, Family, Country!
You are my favorite UA-camr.. you are authentic and so not ashamed of your relationship with our Lord. The enemy will always whisper in our ear..I’m thrilled you waited to decorate for CHRISTmas and let me enjoy thanksgiving without the pressure I see of a tree already up in October. Your babies should always come first; it’s what makes you so beautiful inside. How wonderful that God created beautiful on the outside too! You keep your priorities as you have… one day, you’ll be a Granna like me and the christmases with your babies will be but a sweet memory. 💗🎄
YOU are inspirational!! I would rather have your home and sweet family than anything money can buy. You know and show us what is important in life, Jesus and family.
Please do not feel insecure about anything you are doing in your home. It should and does look like your home. It reflects you and your family’s taste and shouldn’t look like anyone else’s. Everything looks beautiful and as if it has been curated over time.
I love your honesty Kristen. You make us all feel "normal" when it comes to decorating our homes. We are not" professionals" but you show us that whatever you have, you can make a beautiful home. I love your thrifted decor and the fact that you have prioritized your faith and family. It makes your home all the more beautiful!
Kristen, It is easy for some bloggers to make their homes beautiful. They spend hundreds even thousands of dollars to make them look that way. It is far more impressive to take thriftier items, hand me downs and frugal purchases and make them look beautiful. You have a God given talent for decor. You have a heart for God and a sweet loving family. Tune out the “noise” and remember, Jesus is the Reason for the Season. The rest is just “stuff”.❤
Kristen the most important thing is that you spend time with your family honestly you blink and your babies will be grown cherish the memories/ moments . Your house is stunning your one of my favourites because you seem to casually place items together and they look amazing . More fool us for paying full price I wish we had bins or the thrift shops here in the uk . When you have doubts give those babies an extra squeeze and count your blessings ❤x
Let me tell you, your channel is one of the most authentic there is!! You are real and you give me so much inspiration!! Your decorating style is gorgeous and the fact that you utilize what you have or found objects is right up my alley!! Thank you for decorating with me,instead of months in advance! You stick to who you are ,your channel is the best!!
Girl, I have to comment a second time, this is what EVERYONE'S house looks like during the decorating process, it's absolute chaos and madness for DAYS!!!!!!
Darling...hodge podge, thrifted items, family treasures, hand me downs and well loved items are what make a home and a Christmas warm. You don't owe anyone an apology. Enjoying your family is your best success.
Don't be too hard on yourself. I loved the honesty. It is a little late in the sense that you may now feel pressed for time but better late than never. I have a little tip for you, start next year in November and slowly decorate a room to two rooms a week. That will help you be pretty much fully decorated by December where you can then focus on Christmas baking or whatever you would like to do during the holiday season. I tend to, for the most part, have bins per room but there is some crossover as I do move things around from room to room from year to year or things get deleted or added. You had a challenging fall with some pretty big events happening and it is your first year in this house so there was a lot to get accomplished. You will be on your A game next year, don't worry! Merry Christmas to you and the family!
Kirsten, I was doing things in the kitchen while I was watching your video. I was telling myself to comment on your video later after getting a few more things done but my heart was telling me something else and I decided to sit down and comment on this video. First I want you to know how beautiful your home is. The decorations are as well. You are not letting anybody down except yourself. You are very fortunate to have such a lovely home. Second you have that home and your able to stay home with your girls. Do you know how many women would like to trade with you. Your girls are extremely fortunate to have their mom be there for them all day everyday. When you start getting down on yourself remember the big picture. You have a loving husband, your family has good health, no one is terminally ill and you have a roof over your head and food to eat. So many people are losing their jobs etc with the way the economy the way it is. Sweetheart I'm 64 and my family is grownup and I used to feel exactly like you until a very dear friend spoke to me about my feelings and that has stuck with me all my life. Remember that no one is perfect like you feel you have to be or that you are not adding up to the rest of the youtubers. No one can be that good in everything they do. If they tell you that they are lieing. Something has to give. I admire you for being diligent about sticking to your budget. That is something that a lot of people are not good at. Remember what you do have and remember that even though you feel like your decorations or your videos don't compare aren't as good as you want them to be they are to us. I am sharing this from the bottom of my heart. Don't compare yourself to others. They may look like they have it all together but we don't know the whole story. You are a lovely woman with a beautiful family, don't let the insecurities about how good enough or how pretty enough your videos are Kirsten, we all like them. You are not letting us down!!! Enjoy your season of life and stop comparing yourself to others. Your conscienceness of being frugal and aware of where and how you spend your money is Godly. Be proud of yourself girl!!!! I am.
Your home is gorgeous and homey! You are very inspirational! I will take your home anyday over a show home! Be proud of who you are! You are a beloved child of God!
I am 80 yrs old and have just had a bad fall resulting in a couple of cracked ribs. . You have helped me get through this time of pain and inactivity with your wonderful decorating and love for your family. I would trade your house for a rich mansion any day
The thoughts you described having is why I severely limit my UA-cam watching. I like your channel because you are humble and authentic, and funny. The key to happiness is contentment and I definitely see you as content. I appreciate you sharing honestly and being vulnerable. To help with the struggle of Christmas decorating- remember that Jesus was born in a stable and his bed was a manger. And, that was the most beautiful Christmas scene ever. The best we can give is the message of the love of God in the gift of Jesus.
Kristen, growing up with a single mom, I always felt that we had the best of everything when we literally had very little. My mom would clean houses for others to make ends meet and once at the holidays those people would give handed down clothing and toys to mom. She would sneak them home and make them “new” again by mending, cleaning, changing and whatever else she could do. We kids were always so excited at Christmas for the dolls with full wardrobes lovingly sewn by her tired hands. She even used our worn out socks to make tiny little doll socks. They had brown felt shoes and slips under their dresses. Thrift store wood crates became doll closets with cardboard dividers for different things. And then each little closet was covered with fabric cut from old sheets so they had a curtain around them and were used as our night stands. You shouldn’t feel “not good enough” for UA-cam. It’s your channel and others like yours that bring memories and joy. I don’t have my mom anymore but have my own family including 6 grandchildren who I get to create things for. I’ve been happily married for 38 years, have decorated my entire home with thrifted finds my entire marriage because my mom taught me and my siblings to cherish things that have a history. Never feel you need to apologize to anyone for caring about how your home is decorated. It’s better to appreciate and use things that some call trash….I call those things treasures. You are teaching your children that God and family are most important and that’s as it should be. Much love and blessing to you and your family.
Let's face it, no one wants perfection. We want true connection with others and that only comes from being real and vulnerable. I think accepting where we are in life is always a struggle but when we can ease into our particular stage of life a weight can be lifted from our shoulders. My sister bought me a gratitude journal a couple of years ago and it really has changed things for me. I started expressing more appreciation to my husband for all he does for our family. It has increased love in our home. Just know you are exactly the mom your girls need, no need for perfection. That is a lie to rob us of joy. 💕
Just be yourself. There is nothing wrong with your house. Trying to keep up with the others is a losing battle. Because every time you think you are close, someone else will set the bar even higher. Thanks for sharing.
When we start comparing we're always ler down. When we slow down and praise the Lord for everything then we see the beauty. And remember people only show what they want you to see. I was attracted to your channel because you're humble and real. So many youtubers lose sight of what's important. You're doing great! God bless you and your family ♡
Kristen, your home is so inspiring! It reminds me of an English cottage! That is my favorite decor! I remember being in your stage of life when my kids were little. I felt the way you have felt, also, but trust me… your precious children will only remember your love and care when they are older. ❤❤❤🎄🎄💚💚💚
Your home is beautiful and you are refreshingly real person, so no worries! Don't forget, the lord has blessed you with a wonderful home so just enjoy it this holiday season.
Girl!! Don’t be so hard on yourself! I know it’s easily done. I just had my daughter’s birthday party a week ago then I made a birthday cake for my step Dad and my niece this past week. The only reason I have any Christmas decorations up yet is because I had to take my fall ones down before my daughter’s party and didn’t want it to look empty. I haven’t put up my tree, my garlands or anything outside. Maybe this week I’ll get my tree up. It’s hard to keep up, you’re not the only one, I promise. I love your videos. I binge watched them back a couple of months ago and now I’m so excited for everyone. You’ve totally inspired me to start thrifting. I’ve been having so much fun finding a few good things here and there. I love how your decorations are subtle. A red book, a winter painting, a ribbon on a crock. So classy!! Don’t get discouraged. ❤❤❤
Don’t let the those thoughts creep in! Please give yourself grace. I love love vintage and your home is a collected vintage vibe. My goal is to not buy from big box stores…second hand vintage Christmas decor. My daughter and I like to say…”we are saving it”… I watch many videos and agree with you about all the perfect homes..perfect decorations. If I hear Hobby Lobby and Kirklands one more time I want to scream. You are not them…I am not them….we are our own person whether we are on a budget or not. Unique is so much better than the same stuff everyone else has. Keep loving your family, reading those books and know you are a good Momma, spouse, friend, etc.
I love how you decorate your home & the fact that you get it in such a sustainable way is commendable! Your home looks so cozy & festive! Seriously the enemy is the worst liar ever. You're a Rockstar & the things your telling yourself are unworthy are the very reasons I like your channel. Your creative, inspirational & down to earth 🤩😍
Kristin… please remember that everyone knows that you do your very best every single day. You’re an amazing mom, and you have a distinct style all your own. It doesn’t matter what everyone else does, it only matters what you do. If you like what you do, and your family likes what you do..then your golden. You have made the empty house you two bought into a beautiful home filled faith, beauty, and with love!!!! You are an inspiration to me every time I watch your videos.
Kristen all of your viewers are watching your channel because they love what you have to offer! Your home is so charming...you can't buy that at any price, anywhere. You are so real & balanced and your family is beautiful and sweet, as are you! Merry Christmas, wish I could give you a hug.
I NEVER comment on UA-cam videos, but I just want to say how much I love your channel. I'm a say-at-home mom of 3 under 3, and I also thrift all of our home decor. It can be hard watching all these youtube vloggers with their perfect homes and perfectly matched decor, and I find your channel so refreshing and real. Your house is beautiful, but more importantly I see you prioritizing your husband, children, and the Lord. I love your channel for these reasons. You're honest. You're real. You're the kind of person I would want to be friends with in real life. Keep it up!!
I much prefer a home that has character from found objects and gifted treasures. Anyone can walk into a store and pick all the goodies they want but a true creative person takes time to cultivate their style...and this is what you have done. I absolutely love it and am inspired by you...from one Mom to another it's your effort and love that make all your children's dreams come true... I understand how you feel because I fall into the pains of not being able to do and give as I wish...while others have it easier. We both know what's more important to our families...you have all of our support and love. Your home is just as beautiful as you and your family are...bless your soul xo
Kristen, thanks for sharing your feelings about being insecure and it’s true that the enemy puts these things in our minds. We tend to compare ourselves to others. I cut back on watching many videos on “decorate with me” because I found myself overspending needlessly when I already have so much. It’s really hard to keep up with the trends. You find really great things by thrifting and your house looks fabulous. Spending time with your girls, hubby and Buddy are so important. You’re a child of God and are Blessed. You’re followers love you because you’re unique and have a great personality. Antiques, vintage, thrifting is fine. A lot of people like your style.Try not to put yourself down. Cut back on watching too many of those videos like I did. Stay the way you are sweetie. With much love and affection. Blessings!
I am way past your season in life and I love your home. It’s easy walking into a store and buying all that is trendy. Hunting for treasures and things you love makes your house a home. Not spending a lot is just a bonus!
Your home is beautiful. It tells a story and is a treasure to watch coming together. You are rocking this season of life and creating a home of love for Jesus and what truly matters!! The devil will fight to steal your joy, but our Savior Jesus Christ has overcome!!🙌 Keep being authentically you!
To be able to use what you have to make a beautiful, comfortable, cozy home is a gift from God. You have turned your house into a home for your family. You have that gift Kristen. Your family is blessed. Merry Christmas.
Girl, the devil will use anything to steal our joy. I think your house is absolutely adorable and I enjoy your videos, whatever you decide to share with us. Just focus on making memories and cherishing the time with your family. That’s all that matters anyway! ❤️
Hey Kristen your home is beautiful. I’m 64 years old and it took me awhile to figure out that there will always be someone who does things better than me. I can learn from them. There will always be someone who doesn’t do things bad well as I do. I can teach them. Having things handed down to you is special. The person that passed it down to you could have sold it but chose to give it to you. Roadside finds are the absolute best! I sure which when I was younger I would have thought about buying second hand. Look at all of the treasures you find. Those treasures make your home yours. Unique like you. I love “your mom’s” tree. I want that 😂 I like how you incorporated your girls into decorating the tree. I watch many UA-cam videos and the kids aren’t included in the tree decorating. How will those children have any memories of decorating the tree? I was kind of that mom. my 45 year old son talks about how we didn’t ever have a normal tree that it always had to have a theme. So keep making those memories. Also unless you have everything all over when you’re decorating how can you get it right? I mean I move things from room to room when I’m decorating so it all has to be out. I’m wishing you and your adorable family a very Merry Christmas.
Oh Kristen, I love coming to your channel because you are so earnest and tender, your whole family is precious and your love for the Lord is so real. I truly appreciate your channel and approach because it is not a clone of other channels. You’re an inspiration to we who decorate with what we have and don’t try to replicate Pinterest, slick magazine spreads or current trends. I really like how you use “normal”, non-Christmas specific items as decorations: red and green books, white and red quilts, red candles, etc. That’s very clever and beautiful! Please know that you are loved, appreciated and supported! Remember, anything that old enemy tries to put in your mind is the exact opposite of the truth because he is the father of lies. Hugs and love from Canada!!!
I love what you’re doing. I find it more inspirational when people use what they already have or thrifted finds. That’s the main reason I watch your channel. Thank you for sharing with us.
Kristen you just need to do you! What you do is beautiful and if people don’t appreciate it or it’s not their style then they don’t get the beauty of watching your videos. We all love everything you have done that’s why we are true followers of your channel.❤❤❤ Your home looks beautiful!
Merry Christmas! So well said...I am 69 and was also that single mom to my kids and we had no family living close! I put an extreme amount of pressure on myself with everything holiday related until one year I realized...who says the table, the meal, decorations and the way you've dressed yourself all has to be Hallmark movie perfect! It occurred to me that no one but myself was setting these expectations! From that point on I did the best I could to get what I was capable, time and money wise completed and I realized Christmas was going to come December 25th whether I was ready or not but...the reason for the season Jesus and memories together were the most important! Now my granddaughters are all almost completely grown the years passed by but... we have all those sweet memories of being together, the quirky things that happened or the laughter from the kitchen are all priceless memories! Kristen you are a sweet and wonderful mom and wife and you're doing a beautiful job! Have a blessed Christmas season!😊❤️🙏🌲
Kristen we watch because we like you and your honesty, transparency and vulnerability. It is relatable. Trust me there are many other youtubers I could watch but I dont because I like you and your sweet family. Your home is beautiful. You are unique and God doesn't make copies!!
I was reading through the comments and I think a lot of people relate to this. When I was a young mother, I had a very limited budget. It was hard, but I didn't have the internet. I think that makes the comparison game so much harder. I love to see home tours, but can still get caught up in the comparison or feeling envious. It is a fine line to get inspired and not feel inferior. So thank you for having the courage to share this. The struggle is common to many! Just do what you can and try and let that be enough. You can always look for clearance things for next year. Getting a real garland from lowes or home depot is really long. You could always cut that apart and add it here and there. Joanns is having a lot of stuff on 70% off now. I couldn't believe it. Just a few ideas, but don't feel pressured to go and buy anything you don't have the budget for. Love your lovely home!
Kristen anybody can walk into to Hobby Lobby, Home Goods,TJMaxx etc and purchase copycat items filling many homes. It takes a true talent to create the beauty in your stunning home. Your viewers tune in because you inspire us to think beyond those main stream stores. To go out and find the one of a kind treasures. You have an eye and a true decorating talent. It all works and flows harmoniously together in a graceful elegance. I swoon over every room!! Thank You for sharing your life, amazing family and stunning home with us. Merry Christmas.
Raising my children and being able to be a stay at home mom is a experience nothing can replace! You are a great mom funny, loving, and caring. I love your little family and love watching your videos keep up the good work ❤Buddy looks like he is doing great!
Kristan, as a single full time working mom, money and expensive objects aren’t what matter. You have a beautiful home and unique style. You have definitely inspired me to see beyond the mall. I too thrift and everything in my home is also thrifted and second hand. We are so blessed to have a beautiful family, a safe and stunning homes, and most importantly health. You do inspire a community; be kind to yourself. Your home is beautiful, your heart is beautiful, and the love you have for your family is all that matters. One day your children will grow up as mine did, and the love and the memories is all they take with them. One day when your children come home to visit they will tell you what a great mother you are and how much you inspired them. Trust me. Merry Christmas. ❤
I am so glad I found your channel! I am inspired by you! Your home is so beautiful and welcoming! As a Mom I can totally relate! I see other UA-camrs with all of their new stuff from Kirkland's etc and I get a little discouraged too. But I think the decorations that are pulled out every year is what the kids will remember. So I think homes like yours and mine are just as beautiful as everyone else's. We all have beautiful homes! God has blessed us all! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and your home! God bless you and your family 🙏🏾💜🎄🎅🦌☃️
I would much rather see your delightful curated house then the houses that look like Hobby Lobby threw-up in the house. My first tree as a newlywed was a cedar cut from the yard and some homemade heart ornaments. I still have some of the hearts that I cherish, that remind me of the humble beginning of my Christmas’ that were just as happy.
There are people watching you and comparing and thinking the same things you think when comparing yourself to others. Not being caught up in labels and needing to literally have everything new and of the moment is why I like watching you.
Agree... so beautifully said Brittany.
Exactly!!! 🤗🤗
Absolutely!!!!
You nailed it. Couldn't agree more.
Completely agree
You can actually revive the “ do not remove “ tags. Only for the store that sells the merchandise. Just FYI
Thank you so much for this word of encouragement!
Amen to this
As a mama and teacher in Georgia, your priorities are aligned perfectly with God, Family, and Home.
Such a lovely and kind comment! Merry Christmas to you and yours. 💖
Agree. You said it perfectly!
Thank you so much for this word of encouragement!
Girl, mixing old and new and things from family etc is Exactly what makes Home a Home ! You are rocking it ❤❤❤❤
I totally agree. I prefer the used and collected rather than all brand new store bought. I treasure all the things inherited from my family.
Kristen….your home is exactly that, a home. Please don’t like the enemy tell you any different. It is beautiful!!
You are teaching your children..and those of us who watch what truly matters!
You are choosing to glorify God is your life. What an amazing legacy you are leaving your babies!!
Continue to seek what last…walking along this journey of following Jesus with you…
Grace and peace
I'm so glad this channel can inspire you, Emily! Thank you so much for this word of encouragement!
God bless you and your family ❤️
Thank you so much for this word of encouragement, Sandy!
Don’t beat yourself up. You have done a beautiful job with your home. It’s so cozy and inviting! I would much rather see antique or thrifted decor rather than everything Hobby Lobby. 🎄
Thank you, Vicki.
Thank you! Sometimes I see the capacity of others, and I don't realize the capacity I already have. Thank you so much for this word of encouragement!
You and your home are lovely. Never compare yourself to others. The grass is NEVER greener on the other side. Always remember that ....
He is the sweetest!
Thank you so much for this word of encouragement, Vicki!
Thank you, Lori.
Hi Kristen,
Honey you need to give yourself some grace.
It is hard! I am not unsusceptible of the comparison game!
Thank you so much! I needed this.
Go easy on yourself God loves you and so do I Hugs from KY!,
Congratulations on 42 years! Merry Christmas, Fran!
Your home is beautiful! You are very blessed to have a home and a beautiful family ❤
Thank you so much for this word of encouragement, Michelle.
On point ❤
Ok if my first comment posted, please forgive me for multiple comments but I think I accidentally deleted it 🤦
Anyway, of all the homes on UA-cam, yours is one I get most excited about when a video pops up.
100% Agree with your first sentence ❤️ You said it beautifully!
You are so right. Thank you!
Darlin you just keep it real. I had tubs up for at least 3 days as I decorate and then 1 tub was hanging around for 2 weeks. A mess always happens before the beauty in anything we do. Your home is warm and charming and staying with neutrals and red keeps things cohesive. I’m in my seventies, still enjoying
the decorating. A couple of tricks I use is to remove anything that isn’t seasonal to a table and then store it
in my Christmas tubs, and do a visual check of how much looks like clutter and how much gives me a smile.
Thank you so much!
I think you do more with your means than most do with a ton of money. Your house actually has character and is so beautiful.
I am 80 yrs old and have just had a bad fall resulting in a couple of cracked ribs. . You have helped me get through this time of pain and inactivity with your wonderful decorating and love for your family. I would trade your house for a rich mansion any day
Praying for your healing right now. 🤍
Yes! Thank you!
Thank you, Debbra. You are such an encouragement to me!
I think I feel the pressure of people believing that I'm more than just a regular mom trying to live a regular life, lol!
@@KristenHoffman maybe sometimes but you’re one of the most capable and organized people on UA-cam. Have faith in yourself!
Merry Christmas!!
Kristen all of your viewers are watching your channel because they love what you have to offer! Your home is so charming...you can't buy that at any price, anywhere. You are so real & balanced and your family is beautiful and sweet, as are you! Merry Christmas, wish I could give you a hug.
Thank you!
Blessings!
That is a good idea, Josie!
I want that 😂
I like how you incorporated your girls into decorating the tree.
Your home IS inspirational!!! It is beautiful!
Thank you for being here, Terri!
The internet is such a double edged sword! Thank you so much for this word of encouragement, Julie.
Merry Christmas, Carol!
Raising my children and being able to be a stay at home mom is a experience nothing can replace! You are a great mom funny, loving, and caring. I love your little family and love watching your videos keep up the good work ❤Buddy looks like he is doing great!
We are loving Buddy!
Thank you so much for this word of encouragement!
That! ❤❤
