Sorry for all of the comments!! Just commenting as I go! I havent felt well either. I've struggled with letting myself rest. I forced myself to power through decorating and have been beating myself up that I didn't decorate to my full potential.
We have a free table at the end of our driveway, and I put lots of decor out for others to take. Honestly, seeing people excited to get what I've offered for free has been the most rewarding thing so far this season. My family loves the decor and it's still magical to them. This is a strange season for me, but Im finding silver linings and learning to give myself grace.
I can’t even imagine the stress you put on yourself to provide us with these lovely videos. When you’re not feeling good every thing seems like too much effort. Above all, take care of yourself.

That blesses me so much (as I have continued to watch your video) that drawing near to Him is now my joy. After being diagnosed with breast cancer this year, I made a decision to simplify my life. Stop worrying about things I have no control over. I’m doing well after surgery and radiation and hopefully cancer free. I’ve definitely been purging things that cause me stress and organizing things that still bring me joy.

Kristen, I am saying this as a grandma, but please take good care of yourself, if you are too tired then stop and have some down time for yourself. Your house is looking really lovely, your sweet little girls are great helpers, it's nice to see they like for things to be pretty too. Love it Kristen! I got a little emotional watching this for some reason. I just want you to know how much I look forward to your content. I love how honest you are and how much inspiration I get from you to not only be more intentional with my home decorating, but also my relationship with the Lord. I love that you share that willingly! About bins...I have quite a few, but a lot are in random boxes. This is the year I invest in better organization!

To answer your question, I have five totes of Christmas decor and decorations but I don’t use everything each year. I pick and choose colours and items each year. I enjoy seeing your approachable style. Please only do what works for YOU and your precious family!!! I’m a sixty-year-old mom and pastor’s wife and I’m kicking into nurturing mode here: Your lethargy is concerning me. I hope you’re having bloodwork done and a full health check. Your exhaustion is real and there’s a reason for it. Please take good care of yourself; you are a treasure in an earthen vessel and these earthen vessels get chipped and worn. It looks great! Hope you feel better soon. I remember being your age with 3 children and how tired I would get. I am not talking about at Christmas only. I was tired a full time job, 3 kids and a household to take care of. I would teach Sunday school , volunteer at my kids school plus scouts and anything else they were involved in. Finally someone said Carol it’s okay to say no. I needed to hear that message. So Kristen I am telling you it’s okay to say no.
Alot of people and utubers are saying they are simplifying their Christmas decor. I decided a couple of years ago I dont need to put out everything I have and I switch things out every year now. You remind me of my young self and the pressure of life I put on myself. The Lord always helps us get it done. He cares fir us so much, He even helps us with decor,lol. What an awesome God we have❤

I just want to say thank you for sharing your thoughts about needing to surrender to the Lord instead of trying to do it all in your own strength. I’ve had so many health issues lately and am struggling with fatigue so badly and it makes me feel like I’m such a lazy person. I’m praying for healing but also trusting that the lord will help me and my family through this season as he always does.

You have a lovely home, you should not get stressed about having every room decorated or perfect for it to be magical. Trust me, I am 56 and we had very little and the magic I still remember is that we had very little Christmas decor, but our tree was beautiful with homemade ornaments, making popcorn garland. My Mom set a beautiful Christmas table with a Santa boots filled with candle, she made wonderful cookies, her favorite cranberry orange bread we watched Christmas movies with special snacks. A pretty wreath on our door. We decorated gingerbread houses. This is what was magical. Christmas is overrated with buying and decorating, it’s about the birth of Jesus and what his birth means to us. That is what I remember as a magical Christmas not the decor or everything decorated or perfect. And who wants to store and manage all that stuff. You have a lovely home and family. Enjoy the season.

This video is EXACTLY what I have been going through as well. I've been a bit off lately and trying to figure out health wise what's going on but also feeling huge pressure to get the house PERFECT for the holidays which have always been a big deal in our home and I've always loved doing it! This year for the first time in 30 years I broke down in tears because I was exhausted and things just were not coming together or as easily in the past. I pray so much that things get much better for you very soon. Thank you for making this video, it helped me feel like it's not just me and it's ok to simplify and lean hard on the Lord . It doesn't have to be just us...we are never alone and it's ok to have simpler seasons. 💕🙏

I did give a lot of stuff away to a lady who wanted Christmas decor. I gave her my village and all kinds of stuff. I just love Christmas sooo much. The best part of the video is seeing those precious girls of yours. They are good helpers. Take care Kristin. I usually stress over baking and candy making, but I am only doing the things that bring me joy this year. I am not going to stress. I heard two sermons today on Christmas and both were so good . God is in control and I need to trust Him.

Kristen I don't know what you are going through in this season of your life but, I can tell in your voice that you are carrying around some sadness but, you are trying to hold it together for your family. It is ok to cry and let it out. This year I have felt the same. Overwhelmed and feeling like I had too much in my life to handle and too much stuff that I didn't even bother to decorate for christmas the last 2 years. You see about 2 years ago I lost my daughter and after that my decorating for the holidays were not something that sparks me joy. Although I tried this year to decorate a little only for my kiddos. I hsve 12 bins. They are in my basement and i am 67 years old.....but, it is only once a year, and i always use old ornaments and decor that i have had since 1978. So many memories. It is worth the work. My favorite time is early in the morning, no one up, i turn the tree on and have my coffee❤

I feel the same way as you about the red colors. I also like it simple. For example, how you tied a bow around your kitchen utensil crock. Little things like that make it homey & comfortable. And you can add your own touch. Changing out the living room blankets & kitchen linens also makes a world of difference even though it's a simple thing. I absolutely love how you decorate your house. I honestly think it's the nicest decorated house I've seen in person or on TV. So comfortable, homey & unique. God bless my friend 🙂

I have really simplified my holiday decorations. I don't force myself to follow trends or themes for holidays. I just put out the items that I absolutely love to look at. Most of my ornaments are home made or second hand. I have been watching you for a few years now. I found you when I was on a journey to simplify and declutter my life. You've helped me to want to be more intentional with my time and energy. It's so important to take your own advice. I was just thinking that growing up Christmas was always so magical, but my mom only ever put up a Christmas tree and stockings lol so I'm allowing myself to have magic in Christmas with simplicity. I got rid of all my fake garland. It was my best idea ever. I did buy some live swags when I bought my real tree. It's all I need. Thanks for sharing content when you don't feel well. I hope you can sort out whatever is out of balance. (Whenever I don't feel well, and feel exhausted, I've learned that something, somewhere, is out of balance)

Kristen, I’m feeling somewhat overwhelmed this Christmas only because I’m trying to downsize also. I’m 79yrs old and just don’t move like I used to. I’ve got 25 rubber maids with Christmas decor not including the trees and things I have stored in the house. I emptied 4 boxes today so I’ve started not sure how many more I will empty this week. Love your place.
Dont worry about doing things in your home when you aren't feeling well. I've been trying to do 2 diys and a decorate with me all while my husband, and 1 yr old have been sick. I've prioritized them. Because that's whats best. Do what you can.

I'm always grateful for your transparency! I felt this same overwhelm last weekend & realized I was doing all the decorating that I usually love with fatigue, anxiety & a huge case of the crankie's toward my sweet husband. Once I let go, had a great cry, slowed down the process, and prayer journaled it to God asking for forgiveness & a change of heart was I able to have a better attitude. I also didn't do as much this year...your home is so beautiful & special, it really reminds me of the kind of home that makes you nostalgic to come home too. Praying that you enjoy the rest of the season with joy in your heart & peace in your soul 💓

Also-remember rest is productive. I was so so low energy and just feeling not well mentally and physically, made it worse by still carrying on, I went to my dr and ended up having and immune condition that was just draining me-praying for you!

What an adorable Hoffman beverage cart and what a cute little smaller scale sled - wonderful size! I just did a HUGE purge and sold a ton of stuff on FB Marketplace over a period of a few months. Mostly my extra Christmas stuff. Lots of "no shows" on marketplace but if you can deal with that aspect of it, it's the absolute best way to purge all of the stuff you don't "love" anymore. Like peeling off layers of an onion, the stuff you can bear to part with and keeping only the best and favorites it feels wonderful to get down to the basics and the favorites. Removing the extra clutter frees up more space to store and display what is left. You could even use the cash you make from the purge to buy a few of the more high end, pricier items on the bucket list. BTW, I had 20 bins of Christmas stuff and even after the purge I still have 7 bins.
I just stumbled upon your channel and wow you are such a breath of fresh air. I am so over the “instagram worthy”home decor that everyone seems to be doing everywhere. While it’s beautiful most of us have “real” homes where everything isn’t brand new so it can be so depressing for those of us that just cannot get inspired when we don’t have a brand new grand home of pure white everything. Again I think they are beautifully decorated homes it’s just not reality for the majority. Keep doing you and do not change. I appreciate you so much and just subscribed. Kristen, I too am cutting back on decorating. I didn’t feel the red either this year. I wanted more natural items. I had more than I thought. I love your cedar garlands. I have 7 bins. One had all my greens, wreaths in it. One has all tree decorations (I didn’t use half of them) one has an entire village in it which I haven’t used for 2 years now. Real candles I’m not using either. While I have it all down I’m purging! Amen Sis about your hearts desire and prayer to the Lord!! Prayers for your restored health too!!!

I loved that you did the lights in the girls' rooms. I was little before the days of indoor lights like this, so this year im starting to create a Christmas decor/lighting theme with a star and angels over a little grouping of thrifted houses and cone/ bottlebrush trees on a wreath, a garland across a doorway, and on a couple of flat surfaces. I thrifted/FB marketplaced a couple of lovely shaped cloches, for the dining table we inherited, one on a stand to fill with baubles, and another on a breadboard for a nativity/greenery. I bought myself a lit glass cone tree for my bedside table which ive been enjoying for weeks.
Kristen now that we’re empty nesters I get to do what makes me happy. If I do a lot of red, that doesn’t go with my style, I am ready to remove it all within a week! I really enjoy decorating room by room, it’s much more enjoyable. 🌲 Your home looks great, take care of yourself.

I love the simple it is so beautiful. It actually helped me realize I wanted less in my own Christmas decor. As a result I decided to donate 2/3rds of my Christmas decor.
Amen! Little by little till it gets done. I have found it almost makes the holidays miserable for me when I feel like I'm the only one who does all of the Christmas shopping, the decorating, trying to make the memories happen for our family. And it's really going about the wrong way and thinking about it with a bad mindset. Thank you for the reminder to lean on the Lord. By the way, I have that same stitched artwork of the little critters playing in the snow that you put in your bathroom 😊 My family made fun of it but I think it's kind of cute!

Very nice decor, the saying " less is more" really is true. Simple Christmas decor and pops of color here and there just gives a calm beautiful feeling to a home. This year I am going to do minimal decorating - last year I put out all decor I had....12 bins worth. I will be purging out Christmas as I don't need all of it. Kristen your daughters are so adorable! I enjoy seeing them in your videos

Girl I have 54 totes. All different sizes. This year I have trees up but use to do 10. It is so overwhelming. I’ve been a UA-camr now for 2 years and I find that really adds to my stress. This year I wanted to get rid of everything and just have a tabletop tree😂 I’ve had some kind of respiratory virus for 6 weeks and all I want to do is sleep. Hang in there. Glad I found your channel.

I wish I could say I only had a couple Christmas bins. As of this year, I have 4 big bins of Fall, not including floral. For Christmas, let’s say it’s probably gonna be probably 20 if I’m lucky. I’ve got to do something about this, it’s overwhelming just to admit this!
