I love the way your shop is looking these days. The color on the walls, the workbench top, and now the neon signs. As you have been adding these elements one after another, watching today I realized how everything has really come together to give a bright and cheerful vibe to your shop. It gives off so much friendly and inviting energy. At least, that's what I see when I watch. Oh, and the cabinet is awesome.
I genuinely love how this turned out! I just made my first box with mitred corners today. Doesn’t sound like much but I only have hand tools and it was a challenge for my skill level. But as always you’re an inspiration to just go out there and make something.
This is a fun take on the cabinet. Looks cool and not overly difficult to make. I hope you put it on top of the full-sized one for display. 😁 Next up, a dollhouse scale version made entirely of 1/8" stock! I would love to see your take on inlay for this bad boy. Thanks for sharing!
Last couple projects have been looking super clean, really has me wanting to get into hardwood instead of using mdf all the time. Also I would love to see you use the shaper for the 2nd part, funny enough I'm about to do a shaper type project myself and could use some tips
It turned out great! Yes I would enjoy seeing the inlay, etc, with the Shaper Origin. I’ve never seen drawer/door pulls like that. May I ask where you got them? Thanks for your time. Ron
When you used the iron on the veneer, did you use just heat, or heat and steam? (Might seem self explanatory, but not sure, so I ask, lol. I'm not afraid to look stupid)
I really like the cabinet. However, I might suggest a stopped dado for the separator between the drawers. I have never liked to see the end of the board show like that. Just my personal bias. Otherwise, great job. I think I will try one when next I can. Thank you.
I like that idea. I’m a newbie (without a shop). If you do that you have to have a router bit exactly equal to the width of the horizontal board, which makes that concept difficult, no?
Again... I love your sideways comments. "I am going to use this OVERPRICED Odies oil." Love it. I seriously have no idea why they charge so high a price for that stuff. But to each, his own.
Really digging those draw-pulls, and I love the simplicity of the false bottom. I also admit I laughed out loud when you frisbee'd the veneered panel out of shot. You could probably start up a whole new channel on something mundane like toilet-cleaning and I'd still subscribe & watch because I know I'd be guaranteed some proper entertainment!
Love those handles! Why spend all the money and effort building the cabinet then use a $1 finish? You don't have to justify your fine finish. I've been eyeing Odie's oil for a while, but it doesn't seem right to put it on my 2x4 projects. Haha
Just a heads up, Odie’s is good short-term. I think a lot of the hype for Odie’s is due to their advertising and sponsoring content creators. Just my .02
Planning ahead of time prevents major changes due to the project not fitting what you want. Lol you could have put the holes for the hinges for the doors before gluing and you wouldn’t have had to change it to a drawer.
That’s a great project! It’s got my 5-year old granddaughter’s name all over it! She’ll especially love the hidden storage. It’ll be perfect for hiding her dope and pistols. Juuust kidding!! Thanks for the inspiration, David!!
Beautiful work, Dave! It really looks fantastic! 😃 Now, talking about rules... Never forget about the rule 34. 🤨 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Most woodworking hobbyists have these tools, and you can get all of them for much cheaper than more common hobbies cost as far as the skill goes, that comes with practise, no one would expect you to build this for your first project.
If you watch Patrick Sullivan’s “Glue myths End grain” you’ll see scientific tested proof that end grain to end grain is actually stronger then side grain to side grain. So the question is do you say end grain is not strong because it’s always been said or did you personally experience the rare occasion where it broke? Plus miter joints are not end grain. They are a mix of end and side grain.
I don’t believe that. Build a picture frame. Don’t spline it, don’t do the water down glue trick. Then drop it like it would if it fell off a wall it will break at the joints not all of the joints might not break but it’s the miter that breaks. Now butt joint a panel the same size as the picture frame. And drop it the same way bet it does not break and if it does it will not break at glue joint.
You were wearing a blue shirt-you’ve changed. Unsubscribed! ;) Funny thing is I didn’t notice until the next day when you went back to red. Glad to see you don’t let your laundry schedule dictate your work schedule.

Hell yeaa to everything you said 🙌💯
David, I vote ‘yes’ f/the 2nd vid on this project as I would like to learn more about the Shaper Origin. Either way, love your projects👏
You do really inspiring work from your video to your books and the podcast! Btw it’s nice to see you promote yourself a bit like this
Thank you!! I try hard to not over promote myself. I don't ever want to sound to pushy.
I really like how small this project is. Perfect to start prepping for Christmas
I'd love to see part two. Thanks for a great video my friend.
Beautiful work 👍👏👏🇧🇷
I genuinely love how this turned out!

Great job!!
I just recently did my first mitered project. I definitely understand the feeling of accomplishment. Good job!
Love the false bottom! Keep up the excellent content. I love seeing everything you are up to!
That looks really good! And that finish is worth every penny.
Thanks for the tip on veneers. I have had terrible results in the past. I will definitely try that out.
I'm so happy you painted your shop it feels so calming.
I love your videos. I always get so excited when I see a new one up. Thanks for all your creations!!!
Thank you!
Very clean and very nice design. Keep making. Make something. God bless.
This looks great and love the hidden compartment.
The way you designed the false bottom was so simple but I would have never thought of that. Looks amazing
Great little project. I love little mini pieces like this. I personally love it just the way it is. But it’s always fun to see embellishments.
Will you also make a poster with the shop rules?
Also one with just Make Something....
So creative. Thank for your quality videos and motivation to teach us.
Love it. Simple and elegant.
This is a neat project, a great set, and an excellent edit. Thank you for sharing.
just found your channel and i cant stop watching! Keep up the great work man. Im from ohio also!!
Welcome aboard!
Very cool, nicely done.
I love the secret place inside!
SAND ind the place where you live...thanks for another amazing video. You inspire me sir
I have forgot to drill for door pins too! Nice save, great video!
Gee I'm jealous of your access to walnut. All hardwoods look the same where I am from.
Great Video!!!! Thank You!!!! 👍😎🙂
A big yes from me for the shaper origin follow up:)
The additional stuff sound interesting and fun..tks agin
Wow, that is beautiful. I'm going to make one tomorrow.
You could get a right angle drill attachment. Lol. Love the cabinet and podcast
😜
That is super cute. I think my kid would like one of these for art stuff.
Something something, right angle drill. 😉
😜
@@MakeSomething do you teach woodworking classes? I need a mentor
Great to see you back! Hahah just kidding I watch all the time.
Cute and sharp!
Love the way this one came out.
This video was full of helpful tricks and tips. Definitely gonna give that false bottom a try!
Last couple projects have been looking super clean, really has me wanting to get into hardwood instead of using mdf all the time. Also I would love to see you use the shaper for the 2nd part, funny enough I'm about to do a shaper type project myself and could use some tips
Great film and build. Beautiful build. Love the design. Mahalo for sharing! : )
Awesome little build. Great idea for a gift
Love those pulls
Really cool project. I dig it 😁
This turned out fantastic!!
Dude... I have missed you. I love your pronunciation of Dados... Dad-O's.
What an amazing gift it would make, i am a new subscriber and so glad i found your site!!!
Thank you! Welcome aboard!
Loving the background.
“A man of luxury”, yet he still understands the racer-speak of “Run what you brung”.
🙂
Love the way that turned out David! 👍👍👏👏😉😉
Diggin this one
Dude love your work
That was one impressive glue-up.
Super Projekt

Bonjour, c'est tres beau.
Love it man! Looks great! I love the background of your videos too
Thank you!
Get the plans for this min cabinet here: Get the plans here: bit.ly/2ZAKva5
And also, have a nice day.
How about a vertical line between the left & right 'doors' on the bottom ? It will give an illusion of them being separate and functional.
Would love to see the inlay video.
Still waiting for that second video!
I own the shaper origin and would love to see what you do to this project with that
Great project, I like the way you can adapt when problems arise. Also, where can I get a copy of your rules?
When you used the iron on the veneer, did you use just heat, or heat and steam? (Might seem self explanatory, but not sure, so I ask, lol. I'm not afraid to look stupid)
Good question! Just heat.
@@MakeSomething Cool, thanks for answering!
Adorbs!!
One of my all time favorite words of all time!
That's a nice little project. I might make one of these for a vendor fair we're doing :)
Really nice build. Your background is loud enough to detract from the focus of the build.
You should add Amazon links for your books to the video description
Great place to store all my network cables.
Looks great. I wasn’t aware that you can melt PVA glues. I thought that only worked with hide glue.
I can finally use my metric, right angle widget-majig!
I would think this is more important to ensure the dogs fit and sit vertical. I'm looking for tips to avoid buying the parf guide system. Thanks
Where do I get a copy of those rules?
Nice little cabinet, David. You don't have to tell me about Ohio weather since I live in north central Ohio.
Bill

@@daveparker839 smaller router bit and make a few passes. With the last two being the correct distance apart for your board
So David, is it dahdos or daydos?

Freakin beautiful.
Good job buddy! or sell it for a drum set. 😉
Again... I love your sideways comments. "I am going to use this OVERPRICED Odies oil." Love it. I seriously have no idea why they charge so high a price for that stuff. But to each, his own.
Cool Cabinet... Personally, I don't think it needs any change to it. It looks great the way it is.
Really digging those draw-pulls, and I love the simplicity of the false bottom. I also admit I laughed out loud when you frisbee'd the veneered panel out of shot.

Haha! Thanks!!
You didn’t mention what the drawer fronts are made of 🤔
Hickory!
Great build, but glue on your nice new table.
Got a slight buzz in the audio for the majority of the video (seems most noticeable ~11 minute mark), other than that, great video.
That rainbow wall reminds me of Chucky Cheese. RIP Chucky Cheese 😢.

I'm just waiting for all the "weak end grain joints are a myth" people to pop up in the comments in light of Patrick Sullivan's video.
This video is brought to you by… painters tape!
So I need a planer, table saw, digital angle finder, wood glue, electric sander, and skill… easy
Correct. Common woodworking tools woodworkers tend to have. Thanks!
Most woodworking hobbyists have these tools, and you can get all of them for much cheaper than more common hobbies cost as far as the skill goes, that comes with practise, no one would expect you to build this for your first project.

@@koalafan1576 Sounds like someone didn't really think past that guys test and think of how lengths of wood with more leverage will break easier.
Wait...did you say "DAD-OHs"!?!? Lol
I did. Brain fart moment
rad.
Potato potato, dado dado
Yeah, I messed up. Noticed during the edit. Haha!
Ha. I thought it was on purpose. Love the trap drawer bottom. Thx for sharing.
Love that song.
Maybe you can hide your STRONG joints in there or possibly crayons for future expensive wood builds.
Hahaha!!
Great video but what type of Kelvins are we talking about with Ohio fall? Needs more metric.
