Your recipes are just amazing. 🤤
Hope I can find those mushrooms. I have all the spices for the chili oil since I bought them for Chai tea…yea. Looks delicious!! Thank you.
my bestie is allergic to tree nuts, so i would replace the cashews with drained canned white beans (cannellini) and reduce the water accordingly--it works great with your vegan caesar dressing. :) the chili oil trick is genius! what would you think about adding a splash of maple syrup to the oysters along with the dark soy sauce?
Omg that looks amazing!!
I loved it, thank you Will! What can I substitute for the chili oil since I don't use oil?
As a guy with a short attention span I love his communication style it syncs in well with my brain... genius!
yassss king 😖❤
Absolutely
You got to appreciate the simplicity and perfection combo here. Straight forward and healthy.
Same
Yes! Not super chatty... not “you need to find a pan like this”....... it’s “pan.” My introverted self loves this
Everything is better with that chili oil, lol. This is dinner tonight!
Edit: So good! Here's what I changed: I used half cashews, half tofu in the sauce. Used brown button mushrooms (I had them on hand), and also diced some tempeh into it. Did not strain my chili oil, because it's amazing and why take anything out. Added the Indian Black Salt at the end, to preserve its flavor, but used just 1/2 tsp. Added a splash of liquid smoke when I added the 1/2 c water. Served it over a bed of wilted spinach. Amazing!
👨🏻🍳👌🏻🥳🙌🏻
I saw this and made it minutes later. It is so delicious! One of the best vegan dishes I've had. Don't worry if you don't have those same mushrooms, I just used regular, which I already had, and I added chopped red onion. And I didn't have the black salt, but it tastes just great. I used a whole wheat spaghetti mixed with a 'super greens' spaghetti. Yum!
This channel literally changed my perspective on vegan cooking - in a good way. In the best way possible 💚 thank you so much!
Lol this is possibly among the best cooking channels on UA-cam! Best part is this channel doesn't keep shouting vegan vegan vegan, but simply gracefully invites you to try out basically just good food which also happens to be vegan. True to it's tagline and previous name, this channel inspires to cook with confidence! 💚
Thanks Wil, that looks delicious! I love your videos because you cook some amazing stuff but also because you are so relaxing in your style; you don't rush around the kitchen and don't chop vegetables at the speed of light. I am a great advocate of slow cooking and slow eating: everybody rushes around treating cooking and eating as almost a chore! I am a retired vegan restaurant chef so had to work fast in the kitchen but I do cooking demonstrations when I can and always reinforce the idea of slowing down and enjoying preparing food for others to enjoy. Keep it up Wil!
Such kind words, you are too kind 🤗 I always say, the more care you put into your food, the more the food will care for you 🙌🏻 Keep well and happy cooking 👨🏻🍳🥳
It’s obvious that this recipe took a good deal of time & skill to create & develop. Thanks for the time & energy, it looks delicious!
🤗
You can also blend the cashew with tofu, half cashew , half tofu. It gives it even a better texture.
🙌🏻🥳
do u recommend 1/4 cup cashew 1/4 cup tofu?
I always use the morinu extra firm silken tofu half and half with soaked cashews for sauces.
@@dalemills8052 MORI-NU (extra firm) is my favourite tofu. Our local supermarket used to sell this tofu but I now have to order it from Amazon … bummer!!!
do u know how much tofu that would be in ounces (oz)?
Black salt is very powerful. A little goes a long way. It's great in a tofu omelette, gives the eggy taste.
And my Impulse self bought a whole kilogram of it 😂😭!
:) indeed, and you can also find “black salt” at eastern Indian markets 💓💓💓🙏🙏🙏
That looks very tasty. Is that black salt also called Kala Namak salt?
Yes,@@beaearth9273, kala namak is black salt. It has become one of my preferred seasonings to use when I need to lend an eggy taste to food.
Allways happy to see a vid from you again. You don't talk too much and you're very clear! 💯
It's a coincidence or what I don't know. Whenever I buy some random stuff on impulse I see the recipe for it in a few hours. Yesterday after work I went to buy bread and ended up buying cashews, mushrooms ( a different variety though) . Now I know what to cook for dinner tonight. My family loves whatever I cook (confidently) after watching your videos. They come out great.
🥳🥳🥳
까르보나라 파스타소스에 간장과 칠리오일이 들어가는게 굉장히 인터레스팅하네요 The carbonara pasta sauce with soy sauce and chili oil is very interesting.
This has to be one of the best plant based carbonara recipe ever!! It looks sooooo delicious, and so easy as well!! Thank you very much for the recipe, I'll try it for sure!
@Bitterkind Mushrooms and cashews are very nutritious...
@Bitterkind since when was carbonara supposed to be a balanced and healthy meal?
I always love the part when you say “plate” 🤓👍💃🕺
🍽😎
Amazing, more of these fusion recipes please, a blend of cultures 😍
That looks good! I would have put the pasta water in the blender after pouring the sauce out to get every bit of that yumminess!
Thanks for sharing this recipe, especially to make it seem so easy to prepare . Saludos y bendiciones desde Costa Rica 🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷
Didn't know this was possible. Delicious! Can't wait to make. Thank you for another clear and energizing video!
Great recepie 👍 we are using Black salt powder too... With lots of love from India ❤️
For me (vegans) you are an amazing master chef 😎👍
I was just thinking of vegan carbonara the other day! This looks delicious! Can't wait to try :)
🥳🥳🥳
I don’t love cooking but with this guy cooking I feel inspired to cook everyday
I made it! This recipe is so delicious taste like carbonara!
Hello
This looks great. Ive lately been making young coconut yogurt culture with probiotics blended into the tender meat. It sours into foamy sour cream in a few hours or slowly in refrigerator. Im gonna try substitute the coconut yogurt with your cashew base with the herbs and black salt and see what happens.
Great recipe
Thanks
Hands down, best vegan meal I've ever had let alone prepared. You're legit my new idol.
I really loved the creativity of the king oyster mushrooms. I’d better run to the store now because I’m sure all the Vegans in my town are watching.
🍄🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️
Wil, this looks epic! I love the way the king oyster mushrooms take on the colour of the chilli oil and then you add the dash of dark soy sauce which is the master stroke! This is one I shall definitely try, but I have to make the chilli oil first. It features in so many of your recipes but if I remember rightly there was an ingredient in it that I wasn't at all sure I'd be able to find - or not easily, at least. And then there's the black salt, which is a new one on me, but I'm delighted to be looking for new tastes and ingredients, so I'm not complaining - at least, not until I've turned the UK upside down and still been unable to find things! Thank you, that's another great video from you. They're always so artistically put together, it's a joy to share in the cooking experience, and you really do make me feel that I will be able to cook what you show me "with confidence".
I love watching Will eat 😂 He just enjoys it so much that it makes me happy! And hungry 🤤
Can't wait to give it a try. In my city in Brazil it is not so easy to find certain ingredients, but we can always find a nice way to substitute them. Thank u so much!😊 😊
love it! pretty close to my interpretation. for the parmesan effect on top you can use sauteed bread crumbs.
talking about sauteed bread crumbs and italian dishes, can we maybe have your take on orecchiette alle cime di rapa one day?
I am ashamed to say how much carbonara I eat. :) :) This recipe is a level up! I'm definitely trying it! 🍝🥜🌱
Everything you cook just looks so delicious. I'm dribbling again. 😋
This looks intriguing! One thing that surprised me was that you didn't do the "strangle the spaghetti" maneuver when putting them on the water. I know it serves no other purpose other than looking cool, but I do it every time, it makes me happy.
Me: what on earth am i going to make for dinner tonight?
UA-cam: notification for a new Will Yeung video.
Me: Problem solved!
🥳👌🏻
Make sure you cook it with confidence 😏
5:13 Beautiful nest, so satisfying 😊
it's look amazing, from Italy!

You are very kind and happy to be cooking together 🙌🏻
This looks amazing. How creative
Italian, and excited to make this for supper this week. Ty
The black salt is widely used in all sorts of “chaat” recipes in the Indian subcontinent. It goes amazingly well sprinkled on plain yogurt or fruits like watermelon or pineapple or even raw tomatoes. It has medicinal properties and is good for digestion besides being packed with good minerals. I love to sprinkle them on my buttered toast or home fries along with some chilli flakes. I’ve never seen it used in a primarily Western dish like this. Looks delicious! 👌
This combination looks fantastic. I use to make my carborna with green peas and shallots and left out the bacon when I was a vegetarian. Mine always had the eggs and the cheese.
This recipe was so good! Gourmet meal in minutes.Thank you!
Amazing, i love your videos, it is really very great.
Thanks again for another awesome dish 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿🇨🇦🇯🇲
I made your Singapore noodles yesterday (**love**) and now I have to have to have to have this carbonara, it looks SINFUL -- that chile oil spin is a stroke of genius!
YOU are Godsend becos I've always been vegan & tofu is my staple, Asian dishes & pasta. All ur recipes are brilliant & delicious. THANX a bunch !
Looks delicious, as per usual. Will be trying once I find black salt. Thanks Wil xx
This is awesome! I tried this recipe myself but used bacon for the mushroom and eggs for the cream on a low heat and I think I may have created something unique!
I made this and it was amazing! So cheesy and a lil heat! It was really simple to make as well. The recipe took me maybe 20 minutes from start to eating!
🙌🏻😎
Absolutely fantastic!!! Even my husband who is a carnivore loved it.
I love pasta and that looks amazing with the mushrooms along with the smoky flavor and the Indian Black Salt looks amazing along with the cashews sounds so yummy!
Plant based carbonara??? I hope you know how much we appreciate you 😩💖💖
i saw this and was triggered to make it! it was more delicious than i had imagined! my new fave pasta dish. love that it's so simple easy to follow. thank you!! 💜💜💜
🥳🥳🥳
I need a few plates of that! Would be so satisfying right now!
👨🏻🍳👌🏻
Yum! I’d have to add some green peas though...😉
This is a very ingenious recipe. It actually looks like a carbonara with the meaty mushrooms acting as the guanciale or pancetta. Looks delicious.
why am I watching this at 3 in the morning? generous portion as well,my kind of guy.🙏🌼
😴💭🍝
Fried Mushrooms looked like Fried Potatoes. :) That does look pretty good.
One unexpected skill that we vegan cooks develop is creativity. Just look at this recipe, how ingenious!!! Well done Wil. Well done.
Yes, it's funny how non-vegan people think that vegan food is boring, and only includes greens. In fact, I can't even say how many new amazing recipes and new foodstuff I tried since I turned vegan. Never boring!
That is beyond word alright...I will definitely be going to make it this weekend. Thank you Wil
I own both Cookbooks now. You have single handedly help me turn my meat eaters into Veggitarian/Vegans. Served my husband the this Carbonara... 🥰 he had no clue!!!
So happy you are enjoying and able to share the goodness 🥳🙌🏻 Keep well and happy cooking
Made it today and it was just delicious.
Looks delicious. Thanks a lot
Tasty
I will try
Thank you for sharing
It looks so creamy! Using the mushrooms as the "meat" is genius. I gotta try this one.
It looks delicious and I cannot wait to make it.
I make a very similar sauce, only I use silken tofu (but otherwise the same, nutritional yeast, garlic and onion powder, black salt etc.) and a mixture of liquid smoke and sweet paprika for the mushrooms (I find most smoked paprikas too hot for this, delicious, but takes it a different direction). I like to flavour the mushroom frying oil with some smashed cloves of garlic too. It's a great dish, very satisfying and pasta forward (which face it, is often what we're craving).
Yum, can't wait to make this!
It looks delicious and have no others words to describe such a dish
This is amazing . Can’t wait to try this recipe. Thanks so much chef.
Gonna try your version for sure!
That chilli oil must be miraculous.
Well, I have to make this now too. Mortar and pestle is perfect for black salt. I grind about a 1/4C at a time and keep it in a small 4oz jar near the stove. My chili oil will be made today! I nornally keep a jar of it on the table, but making my own sounds so much more rewarding. Thank you for the delicious recipe Wil Yeung. Your videos are rekindling my love for cooking. 🕉☯️☮
🥳🙌🏻👨🏻🍳
I like your attitude. I just subscribed to your channel. You made me feel happy the moment I turned the video on. Thank you 💖☺️. I use to be a yoga therapist and I always smiled while doing my therapy classes. It helps set the mood for a calming and cool environment.
Welcome 🥳
IT LOOKS SO GOOD
So delicious! The cheesy sauce is divine.
I switched mushroom pieces with smoked tofu, used lao gan ma mushroom chili oil and changed to softer type of noodles. Really delicious and texture works great.
🤤🙌🏻
Great content and I love your style of presentation. Its so relaxing and helpful.
I will try this with smoked tofu as my family are mushroom phobic.
Looks so simple and delicious 😋 thank you will must try
Chili oil again? Now I know you're an addict 🤣
It's called a staple food hehe😄😄
🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️😎
Was that in question? 😄
This chili oil is sooo goos
He makes his own chile oil -- isn't THAT a clue?
Thank y'all so much dearest 🌹
Y'all such an inspiration 🥰
Appreciate y'all from the bottom of my heart 💖
Be Blissful Eternally 🙏👼🌈
Another amazing recipe! Thank you 😊👍
Hay my friend will you are awesome in every way love your style 🤗
🤗
So yummy... I appreciate that you taste the food and you describe it. 👍
🙌🏻
Wow, this is amazing
This looks great! Thank you for the recipe! 🙏
OMG!!! That looks so good.
I really become a fan of black salt thanks to this channel. Something I found out about it that I didn't know before was that if you want to actually preserve that unique flavor it gives to dishes, you have to add it after your dish is done cooking otherwise the flavor gets destroyed through cooking.
🙌🏻👌🏻👨🏻🍳
Wow! The mushroom looks like bacon from the color of chili sauce. Looks amazing!!!
🙌🏻
Vegan Carbonara sauce now we're talking healthy goodness along with the Chef's special 🌶 chili oil. Bon Apetito! Bonissimo. 😊
I've gotten brave trying different mushrooms. Wouldn't have without subscribing to your channel.🙂☺️
🥳
I so love watching you cook Thank You 😊
looks amazing!
Adding black salt After cooking preserves more of the eggy flavor. Heat destroys it.
So many people miss this! Makes such a difference
This was delicious. Our local coop only had smaller King Oyster mushrooms, so I approximated by using three smaller ones. Thanks! 🙏 I decided not to strain the chili oil, other than picking out the big spices like cloves, anise, and bay leaf.
🥳
Thank you for this awesome recipe.
Tha black sault makes a lot of dishes yummy I am from India & use it in lots of cooking
OMG! Looks so yummy. I’ve never seen those mushrooms in my store. My wife is a big pasta lover. I’ve made a few of your noodles meals. She shock how great it taste and more healthy then your traditional pasta.
Thank you…👍🏼👍🏼🙏🏼
🥳
