Hey bud I had an hour and half conversation with Garmin engineers today. They gave me some settings to try. Said they made some mistakes with this update and would have a small update to fix it soon. I will give it one more shot this weekend when I’m not working and post a video this weekend. They said it is not backwards compatible with new software. I agree on the detail going away but what I do like is you can run the color limit back down and it’s like your old settings. Also for us crappie fisherman it’s gonna be huge when we are sniping crappie in open water. Crappie love to go into creek channels now and suspend. But for us it’s hard to get within 30ft and not spook them.
Played with color limit yesterday. I prefer the blue color scheme, but color limit really messes that up. Went to yellow and dialed it in really nice. This was in down mode, ice fishing so I’ll use it at times. But overall I didn’t like it on any color but yellow.
I don't understand why everyone was so excited. It looks like an old fashioned Nintendo. You lose so much detail. What I have noticed is that after the last update the sonar signal is much stronger. I have noticed that the black box now consumes a little bit more battery. Leaving color limit off and just keeping the old settings is the best. I heard from someone at Garmin that the color limit will probably go away in a March update as well. Also they are fixing problems with the blue scene. Anyway, I'm happy with the new update. Menu items are much better, and the sonar signal seems stronger. I can now see my bait better in very deep waters, where I used to struggle to see it. I also love the blue color palette, but with color limit italso falls away and turns to black. Don't like it. Just keep Color Limit off :-)

Yes it doesn’t change much in how I use it
Lost my fav blue screen background with this update sucks for ice fishing now ...
Yea I’m not liking it
I agree
Once you know what your doing and what its for. It works great. You caint just crank it up. Its only going to help a little. If you crank it up. Its not going to work at all. Screw the ghost tree. That's not what its for. Your not using it right. But this is just my opinion. It works great for me and I fish everything even crappy. You yourself said that it looks good if its on auto. Lol. That's proof that it does work. I love the color limitor. But hey. Everyone different all I can tell you is get rid of it and get a different brand. Everyone's happy.
Boy I bet you’re a hoot to hang out with. Obviously you haven’t watched yesterdays video. I don’t completely have a problem with it and I have gotten my settings pretty dialed in. But what you’re not taking into account so that it’s not working the same on everyone’s unit which Garmin is supposedly trying to remedy. I’m very happy with Garmin. Some people including myself have voids that we didn’t before the new update. I was able to pretty much get mine dialed in so there aren’t any voids bud using the same settings sitting side by side with me their same settings wouldn’t do anything at all to his unit. Bud you need to loosen up and relax a little and you’re right then everyone would be happy. And how does crappy crappie taste
I thought so
Yep
Well you jumped out of the gate with all your hype just to get UA-cam views and now you're eating crow. Maybe next time do some testing first instead of looking like a fool.
Yep my opinion changed. I’ll do that next time. Keep up your wonderful attitude. Sorry I changed my opinion on something. Nobody ever does that.
@Garmin Guru you do have to test before opinions, you might just change your mind again once you get to using it
@@The_Garmin_Guru My issue isn't that you changed your mind, it's your lack of testing prior to claiming the new update is the greatest thing ever just to get UA-cam views. Be trustworthy! It's a shame you think everyone that isn't praising you is a hater.
@@greghoward5957 I’m pretty trustworthy bud. So I made a mistake in my initial thoughts. And guess what I’ll make mistakes again. You don’t have to watch bud. I do appreciate that you did. Next week I’m putting out another video on the settings after playing with them for a week and talking to Garmin engineers for a whole day. My mood prolly gonna change again after that video. And that’s ok. It’s my channel and I’ll
Do whatever I want to with it. If you don’t like it. Don’t follow me and don’t watch. It’s pretty simple. I not a fan of Jacob wheeler so guess what I don’t follow him. Have a great day sir
@@rickvann3489 you’re prolly right bud. Thanks for watching
