Believe it or not, I actually skated 94 miles just to tell a girl I use to date that I still love in the middle of the night. Long story short, we talked 'til 7am but I skated home empty handed. I shot my last shot, gave all my best, but still came home with nothing.
that's crazy and awesome as fuck bro
Nothing but respect for these dudes. This is what it's all about. So inspiring.
just turned 16, have a fucked up past behind me. Feeling not in my place, i think skating is the only thing that gives me hope and connects me with the people i like.
This is the greatest comment ever
+jeffrey Sjeutse I'm 20 and I feel the same thing for 5 years with skateboarding
I feel you highkey.skatings the ultimate tune out.its the only time that i have a smile on my face of pure joy.but now the homies in jail and shits starting to bounce back to bad times
same
Do what you love brother. Happiness is a choice, a state of mind. I hope you're doing well now :)
Imagine all the pebbles they hit lol
Robert Langley all those poor pebbles dead
That was beautiful lol. I know it sounds weird but this is what skateboarding is about man I feel the love
That doesn’t sounds stupid at all my friend, I’m sure that was the point !! :)
Now take the same trip back but switch.
inb4 doing it entirely fakie lol
Crazy
Damn
Woah. I started skateboarding ~7 month ago. Trying to learn Ollies and now I started forcing myself to ride switch. Not so comfortable, but getting used to it :)
Lol
I bought my first skateboard from Big 5 when I was 15, it was a Darkstar. I quit around a year later because at the time, I couldn't ollie. I'm currently 19, I turn 20 in November and I got myself an entire new set up today, I can't sleep so I'm watching this and I really can't wait for the sun to rise so I can hop on my board again. :)
Andy Luo mad respect man can u Ollie yet?
Im 12 dude and I totally feel the struggle of the ollie, it took me abouta year and im finnally workin on kickflips
Im 20 and just got my first board. Never too late to get into something cool like skating. Learned to ollie in the first 2 days and am now trying some simple stuff to ease into kick flipping.
hope you're still at it man props to you
🤣🤣 this guy quit skateboarding before learning the ollie. He probably already quit the same day thats why he’s not commenting no more
Watching this makes me want to pack a bag and hit the road and see what lies ahead.
me too
This was fucking Awesome. "I am Happy, I'm Happy to be Alive".....
I must say... I myself am a skater and this is one of the COOLEST videos I have EVER watched in my LIFE!!!
Easily the best video on youtube
Being from Rhode Island, it’s pretty cool to notice / recognize more than half of these locations
So happy I've just found this always wanted to do it someday I will 👍
me too. ✌
6:10 :)
I got fairly emotional at the end lol. Really beautiful work, guys.
same here
I have always wanted to do something like this! Amazing video!
i would get cruiser wheels, its even exhausting enaugh to push all day with a fat backpack like this, but nugh respect for this dudes!
Imagine if he'd pushed mongo the whole trip...
+Isaac Melvin that would have blinded me
It would have been gnarly
Or switch
No fakie
Gonz Wouldgo you sound like you're as old as me (no offense), there was a pro skater in the 80s called Bill Danforth who pushed mongo full time....When we were pushing switch mongo back in the day that was silly enough but full time mongo?
Just hearing the sound of wheels on concrete/asphalt, the feel of your board....it's a feeling I can't describe. Through everything, skating is always there for me. Thanks.
Everyone should do a trip like this at some point in their lives! Inspiring!
I will keep skating for the rest of my life. A least till my body won't allow me anymore
+Jaimy balzak Even then i would still try xD!
balzak means scrotum in dutch
started late but i wont stop
Rain Juice I stared 6 years ago. I’m now 40 and skate 4-5 times a week. My life is truly changed from skating. I will never stop
the most beautiful short film I watched this year. Beautiful scenes, human interactions, music, and friendship. You guys ROCK!
Watched this atleast 100 times. this is how I wanna live
sucks its over, that video had a good vibe and was an all around great film.
Still one of the best little skate docs out there. Cheers guys!!
definitely gunna do something like this after i finish school
ikenna45 hows it going for ya?
How’d it go?
@@marcapwier6473 Imagine he actually did it and fucking died lol
Ever finish school? I'm down to do this with somone.
@@kaydenortega2952 yo that would be so awesome xD
This is so cool, always wanted to try something like this
Just do it ;)
To do that takes real comitment
greatest 22 minutes of my life. thank you for taking a chance, creating adventure, touching lives, and experiencing the great american dream. bless you
I watch this every day
A great film. It just showed me how much people can be brought together through skateboarding and how much these two guys love skating and, committed to it like this! Beautiful.
Watched this 5 years ago and now watching 5 years later
This is the first capture of skateboarding as it is everyday. For me this was the best video ever. Probably inspirational enough to inspire a similar attempt.
I am really interested to know how much money they spent that intire trip
This has to be the most beautiful video I've ever seen, these guys are true skaters. And riding around with your friends just adventuring and having fun is the best way to skate
who's watching this in 2016 tbh every time I watch this it makes me feel like I'm missing out on stuff I wanna do this one day
I have watched this over 15 times and still haven't gotten bored yet
awesome vid, reminds me of when me and my friends used to ride our bikes around the country
I just started skating and watching this makes me so happy.
you know, there will always be someone who says what youre doing is insane and stupid, but ultimately its going to be up to you, i know a few guys who all just packed up, got a board and left, and although thats not like a traditional way of life, i think thats living, i always ALWAYS wanted to skate from cali, to new york, ever since i was a kid and i first heard about skateboarding i wanted to just go on this crazy journey i even told my dad once and he got all pissed and said it was stupid, everyone did, but im still going to do it. so hopefully if i dont die along the way, as soon as i pull enough money and supplies, ill be on the road from cali to York i mean it wont be for a few years but its worth it its like a mobile meditation practice, the entire time you are meeting such different people and along the way you end up getting to know who you are its crazy
👀?
did u do it?
This is killer. Hell yes. Love these dudes. My new favorite skaters right here.
edit: the many many many shots of these good bois on the highway JESUS CHRIST DO YOU EVEN KNOW HOW DANGEROUS THAT IS I mean seriously dude those are trucks flying past you at 60 mph have you no regard for your mothers
i would do this
MAD respect for yall
Just beautiful. The whole thing was great, but the last two minutes looking back on all the people these guys met and experienced was my best bit. Go life.
it makes you view the world around you differently. I longboard and took a 16 day trip like this one and i have no regrets about it.
As a photographer and want to be film maker I loved this good job.
MattMoto i read that as the canera fell😂😂but that is facts
It's inspirational and motivating. keep up skateboarding and never give up skateboarding ever !!
so original and relaxing to watch
Ever since I watched the Hitchiking Acrosss America vids on Vice I've always wanted to do something like this, nice to see someone actually doin it.
Thanks for sharing this skate adventure
This is why i like UA-cam
Greetings from Germany
this shit makes me so happy...i live in Rhode island and its so cool to see what other people think about our state and skate spots
Inspired me to skate not to another state but to another city Houston to Austin October 31 2020 can’t come fast enough 2 of my buddies will join in , it’ll take us 2 days and 11 hours skateboarding all the way !
Mad respect and some real Gone Fishing vibes here lmao. 2nd time watching this. Watched it once years ago.
great story, great editing.. its like watching National Geography chanel haha
I love the variations of skating, man. Seriously, we can all do whatever we want. Whether we cruise, gap 22 sets, what the fuck ever, who cares? We have boards with trucks and wheels, and we can DO WHATEVER WE WANT. Seeing this makes me appreciate skating for what it is and what it does. Peace to all of you, and enjoy every type of skater there is, and who they are. We have a wonderful thing, and we gotta enjoy it before a pebble makes us crack our skulls.
This is what skateboarding is all about
This is what makes me love skating it's just narly to see people doing this
This, this is why I skate
that first night of skating reminded me of a few years back when i was with this girl and i would sneak out every night to go see her. the road was exactly like the one in the vid. you have no idea how relaxing it is.
I wonder how many batteries they had for the camera...
Hunter LaFountain was just thinking that fam
Probably charged it places they stopped
I planned on hitching and skateboarding across the country, then I discovered this video. It was very inspiring.
I am a long distance runner and walker, I just got my first skateboard on Friday and already planning 30+ mile skateboard rides, I look forward to becoming I long distance skateboarder
Good job, one of the best documentaries, and not just skate
I’m tryna smoke whatever he gas smoking at 6:31 😂
you guys are my new skateboard heros. im 16 and you guys have inspierd me to pack my bag and skate across Michigan.
Damn, I do a lot of mile on my board, but it's a dropdeck with big soft wheels and super turny trucks. I can't even imagine doing any real distance with a pack on with fucking PARK WHEELS. My feet and knees would kill me
+BadIdeas101 .... and the noisy bearrings - bad running - not funny to ride with it.
But everyone get his experience - even, if it hurts.
Next tour, its better, to ride a board like BadIdeas101 described here.
One of the best skate vids ever
There is this far fun spot from my house, but now I can't say shit because I saw this lol
Lost for words guys..... But I'm proud for myself and skateboarding individuals that we get to enjoy and see this world different unlike the average person.
8:42 irish jersey woo, represent!
ive watched this video so many times and when i first started skating it was made me go out and fall in love with it
now do from new york to boston riding SWITCH
One of the most gnarly documentary’s I’ve ever watched!
This is the kinda stuff I do too... on a BMX sometimes, it's nice you had a buddy hehe. I haven't gone THAT far though AMAZING LOL :) Absolutely what this whole thing should be oh wow!
I live near in Boston, this is probably the most heartfelt skateboarding video to come out of the east coast. Great job on the video editing
dude i just want to live like this
OH GOD. THIS IS SO INSPIRING! LOVED THE MOVIE. THE WHOLE JOURNEY!
Dang I want to do that when I'm older
same
why wait i'm doing this in 4 months when i'm turning 16 with 3 friends, we're packing a bunch of shit and we're going through the entire country, i live in the netherlands so it's not that big, it's gonna take around a week.
@@nomoregreyclouds3012 How did it go, man? Did y'all do it? 🤙
@@nomoregreyclouds3012 Yea how did it go mate? I'm plannin to do the same with a bud here in Hungary . But like a year later or something .

I'm definitely doing this one day, so sick.
Hit me up if y'all goin
Real talk
Kasper Brattested did u do it yet?
After watching this it feels like anything is possible. This is some down right commitment mad props
This is beautiful.
This is the most inspiring and real thing i've ever watched
what a great story.
So relaxing and beautiful.I am from Croatia and my dream is one day just do something like this but especially in America :) You guys did a really nice job right there! Greetings from Croatia! ;)
really cool. I would like to try this
When you skateboard, all you feel is the board and that annoying vibration from the ground. BUT, when you're out there you feel nothing else. It's a beauty in itself
I wanna skateboard across america dude.
Great Video!! I hadn't skated in years and I forgot the whole environment and philosophy of skating. Keeep doing your thing boys!!
omg i thought this was crazy then u inspired me to do skate boarding
hell yea i love that one line at 6:08, "your bringin it back to what it was always about. Just Skating." I would be so down to do a trip like this sometime!
I bet these guys were stoned 24/7, spread the love dudes
This is still one of my favourite UA-cam vids ever

im a Marine living in Okinawa, Japan and this video just hit me in the heart. i live for doing things like this that no one else thinks they can do. so in a few months im going to take a vacation and skate board from the northern tip to the southern tip of okinawa. its roughly a 70 mile trip im going to try to do in 9 days.
Oh my god they skated right past my house at 9:17, so tight
8:17 or 9:17?
I still watch this daily! I love the usual skate videos, but this video truly inspires me to skate for the love of it always! Thank You!
skate on brother
so many good people, love this video, got the chills man this is what skateboarding is all about.
Ever since my DUI I've been skating a lot. It really makes my day so much better when I get to bomb hills and race cars.. I feel bad for people stuck in their "coffins" as Bodezafa would say. I live in Yorba Linda, California and was thinking of doing a skate trip down to San Diego or the border of TJ if anyone wants to go. Loved this video.. really inspired me.
lol casey neistat in the credits.
yup what the heck
This is just beautiful. Looking forward to take a trip like this on my board, too. A good friend, a sleepingbag, beer, tent and having a good time, just skating. Thats what dreams are made of.
