well im not very knowledge in eletronics but i know some, so there is a way to kill your amp by doing this, using AC (speaker works with Alternate Current, leds are designed to work with DC) with leds, youre forcing voltage into led in a way they are not meant to have, doing that any led in the strip may fail and go into short circuit and then kill your amplifier. Im thinking that theres is some workaround to this, adding some other diodes into the negatives and RGB inputs on the strip, or just using some resistors in the same way to limit the voltage that goes to the leds, dont ask me for schematics bcuz i dont know.
HEY EVERYONE DON'T TRY THIS CUZ IT CAN BLOW YOUR AMPLIFIER OR HOME THEATER JUST TAKE A 1K CAPACITOR AND CONNECT IT TO LED STRIP+ THEN CONNECT - WIRE TO LED STRIP AND ANOTHER WIRE (+) TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CAPACITOR THEN CONNECT IT TO YOUR SUB WOOFER OR SPEAKER 👍
LEDs require a 12v DC source. Your amplifier emits an alternating current or ac. This will effect how the load on the amp is received, and will cause damage to the components. Please stop telling people to do this.

Bigger resistor, you only need a tiny amount of power from the signal and 600w will blow these up. (I think) if you have an amp that does 600w @ 8Ω then it will do 300w @ 16Ω, 150w @ 32Ω, ...... 16w @ 128Ω, 8w @ 256Ω - measure the resistance of your strip and make up the difference in impedance with another resistor inline to bring it up to the correct value. I would check the rating of your amp first, if it is actually 600w at 8Ω or 4Ω or whatever, from there you can extrapolate where you need to get to.
