honestly on my exhaust i cut out the flanges and welded vband flanges and instead of slipping the pipes into eachother i cut them back to weld vbands there too.
Hey Sean it’s been a while. Hope you get your Boss soon enough. How you get the x pipe with the side exhaust? I went with MRT cat less H pipe with side exhaust which sounds good too but just wanted to know about your set up. I know kooks has a long tube set up with side exhaust for our cars.
Hi! This Flowmaster system came with the connections for the Boss side exits. You could not run long tubes though. That’s why I sold this system and went with a 11-14 ARH long tubes. With long tubes I knew it was going to be loud so I opted for the standard mustang setup without side exits.
Hats' off to you for working in snow and sick!....Perhaps it was the camera angle, but your drivers side muffler tip looks "off" center...Sounds good, but I stayed away from flow masters as I've read many complaints of excessive cabin drone. Hopefully you'll fare better..I went with MRT Boss H-pipe and Borla over axle pipes and Stinger mufflers. I've lost the higher pitch crackles but still sounds good with track key!
Done flow master on previous mustangs!! Sounds best on Dodge trucks or Hemi!! Had borla axle backs. Noise as hell!!But the Roush system sounded best on my 2011 Shelby GT 500.. Roush axel backs on a Boss with electric cut outs opening up the side exhaust !! My opinion Roush is design around the Mustang!! Install electric cut outs open and close when needed. Remember to double clutch on a cold M82 transmission,, Make sure it is warm and wet when when running her hard!!
Sounds mean! I like it. I have the Corsa Xtreme Black axle- back exhaust on my Boss with the stock h pipe and restrictor plates removed. Thankfully, I have cool neighbors. Been thinking pretty hard about upgrading to Kooks long tubes with their h pipe.
You should at least put a tack weld. With my Flowmaster Thunder axel back on 2018 camaro even my temp setup has tack weld. I plan to go full weld on final setup. The more hp the more pressure those pipes have. Check out my vids. I’ve lost a rear exhaust on a c6 z06 because of clamps. Don’t trust any clamp without some welding.
Did you consider the 2013-2014 GT500 Quad tip conversion? The diffuser swaps out and it is a direct bolt in which sounds amazing and looks amazing as well. In addition, I put a set of Borla 3" OTA pipes removing the resonators and complimented the sound set up very well. Congrats on your swap, but IMO, Flowmasters are a better fit for the SN95 and earlier cars.
+jpat99 I did consider them. It’s funny you feel the Flowmaster fit the SN95 more. I kind of did it because I wanted a reminder of the old days of fox bodies and SN95s with flowmasters. I grew up with that.

Overall yes I like the flow master setup. That being said for your setup I would check out the ford racing Boss 302 x pipe and match it up with a over axle kit (keeps side pipes). That way you get the x pipe and over axles without the resonators. Keep in mind the flow masters will not work with long tuner headers if you plan on doing that down the road.
I am looking at a Boss 302 and a Saleen. And your videos make definitely want to make the purchase.

good eye. I noticed that as soon as I dropped the car down. I am going to adjust it as soon as possible.

Clutch has been great so far. Seems to have solved the high RPM lockout.
