DaJackPackCrew he is good character but really have no space to reveal himself...exept first mission and first walking on ship you can easly forgot hes even there...
Honestly I like the performance Mark Meer gave in Mass effect 3 he's also a lot funnier in his Deliverance Latin female Shepherd is not known for saying will bang okay
Jessica Chobot works for one of the most biased game news media out there, IGN, a corporation infamous of buddying with game studios. Journalist ethics are extremely low over there. Their reviews are poorly constructed and they tend to give more favorable scores to bigger and richer studios, while being jerks to lesser known studios. Why acknowledge that poor game studios might have the occasional good idea when there's no money to be made? (I can name examples if you ask, but I feel we're getting off topic enough as it is) Jessica Chobot became famous for licking Play Station Portable (feel free to google), so EA or BioWare figured she now has the voice acting skills to match Seth Green and Martin Sheen. Ooor, maybe BioWare just wanted more favors with IGN in hoping for some guaranteed, great reviews. So when Jessica's character introduces herself as a fair and unbiased news anchor in Mass Effect 3, most players chuckle and shake their head. An informed player guesses there are some sad artists at BioWare who vomited when they learned they had to include an IGN employee into their 'work of art'. The more I think of it now, looking back at Bioware's track record, this was probably a result of EA meddeling because BioWare has never done something this stupid before on their own, aside from the ending I suppose, but now I'm speculating, so I'll call it quits here.
Zinodin EA CEO for bioware wing: Hey Hudson, add a Chobot into game... H: What the...you dont want her to be squadmate? EAC...: nah, she wanna be a seriouse journalist, make up something like that for her H: huh, okey
Because IGN blew the studio to completion with perfect scores on the game in exchange for one of their idiotic, vapid employees to flap her mouth in front of a microphone...
Should've replaced her with Garrus or even Male Shepard's VA least they might've had something worth saying .Or Mordin's so we could wonder if he'll sing
I miss the good old days when you needed to have talent, vision, and skills to make games. Now anyone and their moms can get a job at a AAA gaming studio writing or creating, and it totally shows
I love James. There was always a rivalry between him and Shepard. Martian Sheen is perfect as the illusive man. Anybody would think they cast him, then made the character.
The vast majority of my play-throughs of the Mass Effect trilogy have been with female Commander Shepard because of just how GOOD Jennifer Hale's voice acting was for the character. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Mark Meer and being a dude, I'd rather be playing a male character but Mark's voice acting is much more flat for lack of a better term, it's more rigid and it doesn't always convey the right amount of emotion, or vocal inflection, etc. I always used to play a Male Shepard when I first discovered Mass Effect. But then on a whim, I made a female character in ME2 and I was amazed at what I perceived to be a huge leap in quality, in terms of the voice acting for the character. The emotions of each scene she was in came through much more clearly and it felt extremely grounded in reality. Like what a real person would be thinking and how they'd talk in certain situations, where as male shepard was more stoic, and almost robotic in pretty much every situation, whether it was humorous, serious, sad, angry, etc. So yeah, that reason alone pretty much forces me to play fem-shep whenever I replay the trilogy which is at least once every 6 months it seems lol. Jennifer Hale did a fantastic job and female Shepard will go down as one of my absolute favorite female video game protagonists ever.
I'm a woman myself but I often like playing male characters because games are a way to pretend to be someone else. But agreed- about female Shepard for the ME trilogy. Jennifer Hale killed it.
So I'm sitting here watching House and low and behold..Raan's voice actress was one of the episodes lol As soon as she talked you could tell it was Raan's voice actress
i take back what i said when i found out that mark meer was responsible for the vorcha & volus voices as well, i assume the monotone non-emotional thing is what they wanted for male shepard..
Problem with Vega is that his character is suddenly already in Shepard's life. There is no introduction of the character to the player, he's seemingly already familiar and even friendly with Shepard, but then he do things that anyone following Shepard wouldn't dare to do. Questioning Shepard before Mars, getting into confrontation, etc. He's 'bad' because we misunderstood him.
Shadava Esquilin with EDI, it isnt her natural voice though, and neither is Six from BSG. Both lack cadence, with you are told to do with VO or in ADR with active filters in your playback loop. Watch her on Chuck if you want to see her natural voice.
Man, I've played this game way too many times that I know the dialog word for word. I love how they cut out all video and dialog of what edi installs herself into. ^^
Jennifer Hale does a great job for FemShep, but the problem is that her default tone sounds angry and bass. If it was a more neutral tone, she might be able to do better on scenes where Shepard is relieved or happy.
I can’t see anyone other than Martin Sheen as the Illusive Man. He was a great villian. And when I read the 3 Mass Effect books that are canon. In the second and third book I always hear Martin Sheen when Illusive Man is talking. Come on bioware make us a new Mass Effect that blew us away as first one did. BioWare are good at story and worldbuilding. I have high hopes for BioWare’s new Dragon Age and Mass Effect. I love both thorse series. Make BioWare great again!
@TFlynnVideo Cruiser is about 1/3 the size of dreadnaughts. A dreadnaught is about 1km. the citadel is 44.7km x 12.8 km. The Base was about the size of the citadel if it was turned to face sideways. It is an impossibility.
@BunsterByne No,That is the scene where Anderson Reinstates Shepard as a commander again and he stays there to fight as he tells Shepard to get to the council with his crew.
This video was posted so long ago.... In a time were I was anxiously waiting for the game! Of course this all happened before seeing the actual end of the game --" Good times... Ignorance is bliss!
@Kat02543 She's a reporter, and a romanceable one at that. We don't really know anything else about her, though. We don't even know if she's an "official" romance (like Liara or Jack) or an "unofficial" romance (like Kelly).
Emily Wong is a Citadel journalist, whose speciality is on Investigative Journalism, when Diana Allers is an Alliance journalist who's there to broadcast updates and news from the Normandy to the Resistance Movement. The two have different sets of goals to achieve.
@Wolvie1984 I think it's because Mark Meer isn't always available for interviews. He has another job besides voice acting; he also frequently does work for a Canadian theatre.
@AlexRider001 If it makes you feel any better, the "Diana Allers" character that Jessica Chobot plays is not a squadmate; she's just a reporter, just like Emily Wong and Khalisah Bint-Sinan al-Jilani were just reporters and not squadmates.
I wish you guys were back for another epic adventure. Best thing EA could do to revive this franchise is to hook up the old team, actors as well as gamedesigners and storywriters. Voilá; Top notch mass effect is here again :P
@OrdoMallius If Arrival is was not optional, there would be a notice in ME3 saying, "Mass Effect 3 will not start until you purchase and complete the Arrival DLC.". But that isn't the case.
@00loneX it's the ending to the trilogy and I can find ME1 and ME2 quite easily, even in Australia. You don't start Mass Effect by only playing the Third, the same way you don't start watching Star Wars with Return of the Jedi, or start watching/reading LotR with Return of the King. Important stuff happened in the previous instalments. That's why it's a trilogy and not a stand alone game. Even if the game made every effort to fill you in you'd still be missing out.
Glad to see some of the actors are recording together. Bioware hasn't done that in the past. There's much more feeling when you're in the same room with the character you're talking to.
@TFlynnVideo That was the MAIN REACTOR. You know, the volatile energy supply to the entire base? And you remember that funny gunnery Sergent on the Citadel yelling at his serviceman. It was pretty much a hand held nuke, and that is what was used to destroy the base.
What a lovly line up, seeing Freedy Prince Jr was suprising but I look foward to hearing from him in the game but waiy....Jessica Chobot, how did she get involved in this? Amazing, I love diverse casts like this
awsome to see all these people playing parts in the game, the only thing I'm pissed at is when i went to the official site a few months back it said it would be out in 3-6-12, now its set back to 9-3-12, other then that I can't wait to get it, since I got GF3 I get special armor in ME3, in BF3 you get special dog tags in there either saying Mass Effect 3 or N7, wicked in my book.
@TFlynnVideo The collecter ship that was destroyed was a cruiser. About a third the size of a carrier/dreadnaught. And I checked, SR-2 didn't even have GUARDIAN as it was unneeded for it's size.
@TFlynnVideo immersion. Most people who love ME2 did not care for the missing rpg elements, they just played the game, let it draw them in. However, it's being fixed in ME3 to find a balance between the two games. The major reason they haven't covered this with marketing is because of PR and the issue people had with ME2 marketing (spoilers)
@DXcena854 Bioware said decisions in the Shadow Broker expansion would have an effect on the next game, so it's also likely to have an effect on how Liara plays out in ME3 (I won't spoil why).
@TheMadeInLV They showed him on the Mass Effect 2 DVD. It's on UA-cam, I seen it yesterday when searching through these. Though it is only for a little bit =/
Your kidding right, he wasn't good in the first but he improved a lot for the second and by the third he had become a better paragon than femshep. He never became as good as her for renegade but he still improved a ton and became a great va.
garrus must have been off calibrating something.
The voice actor was calibrating his microphone :D
"I'm Jennifer Hale and, If you've played a video game, I've probably been in it."
Bastila Shan. Hale was the face model too. Rawr. She was quite the looker at 30.
Troy Baker: "You too?"

The Addiction 2 Nolan North: "Did I miss the party?" ha
+Cole Cash If they managed to get him on board for even a cameo then they would have hit the trifecta.
Martin Sheen as illusive man , man oh man he was awesome
+7718 perfect voice
Hello, i'm from the future. I have been tasked with the duty of agreeing with this comment.
7718 Hello, I am even from farther future, and I also agree.
I'm from ever so slightly farther into the future. It's raining today. I'll leave it to my decendents to fill you in on the rest of earth's history.
7718 I tried Shepard...
"Report to the ship as soon as possible, we'll bang ok?"
Martin Sheen is so brilliant in these games. I love how he played The Illusive Man
Indeed
No stepping back. No stepping forward and NO DEFEATING REAPER FORCES. INNOCENT PEOPLE DIE.
+NaxxoZL15 SAY AGAIN?
Exactly.
gets me every time
I'm commander Shepard Alliance Drag Queen!!!
And if they don't?
Sheen was brilliant as the Illusive Man. His voice fit perfectly. Really they did a great job with the cast all around.
I think James doesn't get enough credit. I really love the mentor relationship between him and Shepard.
You mean the character James Vega?
He doesen't really get much credit beacuse he is a relatively boring character with a pretty "stupid" feel to him
James vega is a good character, I love him in the mass effect series, quite the good actor to play alongside shepard!
DaJackPackCrew
he is good character but really have no space to reveal himself...exept first mission and first walking on ship you can easly forgot hes even there...
Jack Holander Yes same here I don't get how some people on utube states that hes the most dislike character... I totally agree with what you said
+Jack Holander I watched mass effect: paragon lost, it's a trash movie but it made me like James a lot more than what they gave us in mass effect 3.
Keith David rocks.
Weird how I still haven't seen Brandon Keener (Voice of Garrus) being interviewed yet about his roles throughout the series.
He was busy with some calibrations.
Jeniffer Hale voice is so calming..
I know it's so soft and gentle.
+Hagi Bastian I love her voice
***** it's amazing. easily distinguishable 😊
Honestly I like the performance Mark Meer gave in Mass effect 3 he's also a lot funnier in his Deliverance Latin female Shepherd is not known for saying will bang okay
Is it just me...or does Seth Green actually resembles Joker?
Kervaughn Skeete I think so too :)
You should see the girl who voices Miranda! They are twins in the face! Its amazing
... Um yea, they used his face for Joker...
And for Miranda Yvonne's ;)
It's far from unusual for video game characters to be modeled after their voice actors.
where's my garrus :(
Brandon Keener was in the middle of some "calibrations" during the recording of this vid.
+Garrus Vakarian makes sense
He was in the middle of some Talibrations ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
@@ZayanK NOPE

Waste of time and Allers as a war asset has little contribution. I wish they gave the extra time for Kelly Chambers. She was hela underrated.
All of these great voice actors...then they just HAD to show Jessica Chobot! *grumble*
Should've replaced her with Garrus or even Male Shepard's VA least they might've had something worth saying .Or Mordin's so we could wonder if he'll sing

Keith David as Keith David!
I still haven't had a game come close to how much I loved this series.
- I'm right here, Jeff.
- Yes you are, EDI. Yes you are.
*They're so good!*

Well Keith David looks like a legend...
Ali Hillis does, Liara's voice, Lighting's, Claire Redfield, and many more. What a great talent she is.
Martin sheen has such a great voice. I love it.
I thought the voice actor for EDI was enhanced to make her sound techy but that's acuatlly her voice 🤯
EDI is Tricia Helfer? I've played the whole trilogy countless times and then Legendary Edition several times and never realized that. Wow. 😅
Martin was perfect for the illusive man
honestly really surprised they managed to get people like Martin Sheen, Freddie Prinze Jr, and even Seth Green into the game
“To see a Character action driven video game.. just doesn’t happen” wat
soooo. why is Brandon keener not in here?!?!?! garrus vakarian has the coolest voice in the whole game why is he not in this
They don't even have Male Shepard's VA in here. It was mostly the female characters that got spotlighted. They even put Jessica Chobot in.

jus imagine if Jennifer Hale and Martin Sheen were talking about politics like their characters in real life.
