I feel as though Mark developed better and better with the character, for example, in 3 when legion dies and Male Shep asks "Legion?", and gets the sad report from the Geth Prime about Legion getting honored, Sheps very somber and quiet "Good." Was really well done and subtle. To me atleast.
btw the Ashely character is actually mixed. Many characters in Mass Effect are mixed...considering Earth's society and culture has expanded beyond national borders and into space.
