    An important aspect of the AWD capability on the new Equinox is that it must be physically turned on by pressing the button in front of the gear shifter each time you want to drive in AWD mode. It is not on automatically. If it is on, it will shut off each time the vehicle is turned off with each key cycle. Just an FYI. That little bit of control will hopefully help achieve slightly better fuel economy.

    To Ramon, I have 112,000 miles on my Saturn Vue . Haven't seen any change in performance since it was new. I did have to have the transmission rebuilt (6 speed auto) because it had a defective Wave plate, whatever that is . It was covered under warranty. A $4000 job. I had 110,000 miles on the car when that happened.

    The critical omissions are a centre rear headrest in this vehicle and a centre pass through (for long and narrow objects). The one thing I don't like is that the infotainment screen is angled in a position that it really causes glare during daylight hours.

    Sadly I believe in the 2018 models they have taken one step back, taking away a very important and safety driven feature in the OnStar modules...."Please know that many changes have been made to our white dot button feature. Within our 2018 model year vehicles, you are no longer able to store routes, store phone numbers, and other changes have also been made. We apologize if this has caused you any inconvenience. If you have additional questions, please let us know.Best,
    Philip J.
    OnStar Customer Care" I have been told these features (which were previously available on the earlier versions of OnStar) were removed in order to add the SHOP icon.

    Great review, man! The 2018 Equinox sure has stepped its game up quite a bit for this model year! The interior seems very high quality, and the new exterior styling makes other vehicles in its class look plain and mundane! Competitiors better waych out because the new Equinox is here to change the depiction of a compact utility vehicle! Keep it up! 👍😉
    I cannot wait until I can get to review a Equinox in the coming weeks, too! 😃 Go ThatGearHead!

    Does the 2.0 turbo engine require premium fuel?

    • @BernonCars
      @BernonCars  7 років тому

      It does, yes.

    • @centauri0
      @centauri0 7 років тому

      And were are you getting this information from? Why would the 2.0L Turbo be any different then the 1.5L Turbo on type of gas used?

    • @BernonCars
      @BernonCars  7 років тому

      The 2.0 runs on a different platform than the 1.5. The 2.0 is tuned for more power, thus, requiring premium for it's max potential. If you use regular, it wouldn't run at the same level of performance as premium. Why would I be scamming someone for premium for no reason? I don't sell cars, or gas...

    • @centauri0

      Sadly, it does not. Most car makers are phasing out CD players. Bad news for me since I have over 700 CDs. However, there is an auxiliary jack in the front cubby bin where you can connect a personal CD player with a patch cord.

    Chevrolet has to have some of the ugliest interiors going. Who thought up these ugly 2-tone interiors. Ford does those 2-tone deals a lot, as well and they just don't click with me. And 1.5 liter engines are just way too small. Start at least with a 2.0T, and offer a V-6.
