I’m here around the Nihombashi area, do you guys know what time the last trains usually stop? I really want to experience a bar out here in Japan but I’m worried that i won’t be able to get to my train on time once the alcohol has kicked in AND it can be a bit confusing in certain stations.
Check out the Sendai morning market and the Morioka Morning market with the old ladies! Hahaha! Those are classics. ua-cam.com/users/livevt0qmwd0Hqk?si=LBWnW9dqQgQPlUxv & ua-cam.com/users/livervWsACk5khI?si=d889h64nk7jXnuK1
I am going there next trip! Thank god for the Shin! John, if you have time for some local Sake tasting, please do it on a stream... My favorite Sake is from the Niigata region, Kikusui.
So cool to see the photo of John showing visiting Dan from "What's Inside" what's inside Okonomiyaki. Interesting to learn the friendship has spanned the many years that Dan and now 18 year-old son Lincoln have together shared reveals on their "What's Inside" UA-cam channel. Maybe we will eventually get to see the emergence of another father-son duo as Leo joins in with John on his Japan adventures? The father-son(s) formula seems to be working well for my friend Luke Nichols here in Alaska with his successful "Outdoor Boys" UA-cam channel.
john is pulling a fast one on us.....he's been there 25 plus years and he is a little scared of eating the snail and the whole prawn with the head, tail, feet, anntennas....i was there a month ago and it easy peasy lemon squeezy yuummmy
John even though that fish market is probably average by Japanese standards, I think I would be hard pressed to find anything like it the US. I finishing this one in measured doses, but I know I’ll really enjoy it. Thank you!
Ah, probably closest from TSUBAME SANJO but NAGAOKA is also close, this is in the middle. Between Sanjo and Nagaoka is 10 min Shinkansen ride so not too far.
I am allergic to shellfish, so aside from the fish, I cannot eat any of the spread. 😭 I used to be able to eat all the seafood, but somewhere along the way, I became allergic. 😢
No, Japanese dinner is not more like dinner. That's the kind of food Asians eat for breakfast - savory food. The practice of eating sugary food for breakfast is a western thing, especially in the US, which is usually very unhealthy.
why do Japan always uses those filthy butane torches to make pseudo grilled food? I get that it may be a lot cheaper than using charcoal but they also have that electric grill that they wont use like you showed in the beginning. You're Japanese, uphold your dignity.
Just tone down the theatrics. You’ve been in Japan for over 20 years and have eaten a prawn before but yet you’re doing the tarantula in Thailand spiel. That’s so 1992 dude.
Nice atempt at Mark Wiens expresion when eating the Turban shell 😂
That cannot be imitated! 😂 hahaha
Getting there was not easy but well worth the effort. Niigata City has so much to offer especially touring some of the best sake breweries.
It was a trip indeed! Going back, I left from TSUBAME SANJO which is famous for cooking ware and metal goods. Got a nice Japanese metal drinking cup!

@@lbabe1996Midnight or you'll be sleeping in the JR station till it reopens. Drunken Japanese businessmen do.
It was cool you showing the fish market enjoy your time there John

4:07 - reminds me of that Fast and Furious movie that was set in Japan.. "Han say o-ka-nee." 🤣🤣🤣 33:45 - Sazae-san theme song? 😁
Arrigato Gozaimasu John!!
will visit for sure!
That crab bar reminded me of you and Peter on your Hokkaido journey!
Indeed! These aren’t thick and hairy but both were yum! I had the crab miso soup (thumbnail) after the stream to try. 5 stars and only ¥200!

I’ll try Kikusui next time 😋 🍶
John who where the lovely folks you had with you. Id definitely visit but having local help would be great.
Liked the fish eyeball story. I've ate them off of a fried fish but never floating around in soup hahaha
*Also Ken Griffey was #24
Wonderful!✌️

Have you been to the Sapporo snow festival? That would be an interesting video. Also have you had chengis Kahn?
On my goodness! How I would have loved to spend the day with you at this place. I love seafood and I know I'd eat almost everything they're selling. 😊

Aussie Breakfast Beers.. it's a thing! 🍺🍻
Hahaha! KANPAI 🍻 🇦🇺 5pm somewhere!
Love how at 25:15 he’s putting a trash bag on the trash can.. then proceeds to handle your food 🥵
I would like to know about the opening of the water at the Fukuchima nuclear plant, people's reactions and the impact it has on the Japanese diet
Yes eat everything of red shrimp😊❤i like it more tempura...himeji coast i had the watersnail kept the door of the snail, rubber taste soysauce flavour
レクター博士のレファレンスには大笑いしました😂
あとベイダーもね😂
Fried shrimp head is the best
Wow, prices in the fish market are super cheap.
Indeed! But sending it home offsets it 😂 I decided not to buy any, risky it’ll spoil on the ride home, carrying a lot of ice 🧊🐠
I haven’t been here for years, last time was a bus tour to the Sea of Japan, hey what’s the local Shinkansen station to the markets?
Ah, probably closest from TSUBAME SANJO but NAGAOKA is also close, this is in the middle. Between Sanjo and Nagaoka is 10 min Shinkansen ride so not too far.

What a thumbnail lol😮

I though Niigata only famous for their rice but i was wrong

As much as I love shrimp, I can't chew its shell, even soft ones... I can feel down my throat and its painful.
I'd rather risk to eat them raw lol
Have to chew and crunch a lot. The grilling makes it brittle. Loads of natural calcium, vitamins but can’t eat it like this often 😂
Fair factor but without the 50,000$
That Shopkeeper could sell Ice to Penguins. I'm ready to fly over now. Thanks again John. Gidday from Down Under 🦘🦘🦘🦘🦘
So that is the now politically correct correction to the classic "Selling refrigerators to Eskimos?"
Sooooo gross! And hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂😂
40:42 Denmark, you can drink out in public where ever, when ever you want
How can you be smarter after eating the brains of a caught shrimp? Lol! Not sure I can eat the whole shrimp.
