Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo Japan has some of the best Japanese street food ever. Just a minute walk from Tsukiji station, the Tsukiji Jogai Shijo or Outer Market, has maintained the title of “Tokyo’s Kitchen” for over 85 years and I’m finally back. I already shared my favorite Tsukiji street food spots a few years ago, and many of those go-to hitters are still at it today, so definitely check out that video and those Tsukiji food shops. But with more than 400 shops today at the fish market, I thought it was about time to add some new Tsukiji shops to my list. These are my new and hidden gem Japan food spots at Tsukiji fish market in Tokyo.

@PaolofromTOKYO - possibly a shirt that has "Super Excited" in English, then Japanese characters?
I love watching your videos I can't wait for the next one but I really want to see you do want to about the farm Veterinary😘🥰🇯🇵💖💗.
Paolo i got a question and it might even be a bad one, was this filmed before winter ? or is winter always warmer in Japan ? i was getting chills seeing you in T-shirt while it is -6 C here :P
4:32 : Lemme guess. The pizza was baked inside the wok over one of those big jet burners, the oil atop the pizza vaporized and got burned by the flames licking the sides of the wok, resulting in this little charring on top.
Did I get it right ?
You are arranged by an agency, your advertisement is sometimes repeated, so that people and tourists always see your videos. About the life of Japanese people.
Japan is gonna have no secrets left after Paolo is done with this series
Glad to see you're still producing these types of videos. Playing your food guides on repeat until my trip in April! You've been a constant staple for food recs for my trips
Awesome Video! Keep it up 💯💯💯👍😁
This is what I did when I visited Tokyo a few years ago on my own, downloaded Paolo’s maps and made a note on my phone with the locations ! Was a great trip!
@@Modge17 hey, if you still have it and don't mind, do you think you can send me the note with the locations? I just booked a trip with my friends and we're staying in Japan for three weeks, starting from Tokyo and moving down to Matsuyama before going back up to Tokyo for our flight back. Also if you have any recommendations, that will be well appreciated! Thanks!
very nice!
same here until my trip in June 😇
You never fail to put cheer in your videos. With so many chasing negative news and fear mongering out there, I keep watching this channel to see the good things in life.
Positive Vibes Only 💯💯💯💯👍😁
@@MikePhoTravelVlogs Positive vibes only indeed.
まさに人生に必要なマインドですね!😊
I love Paolo's facial expressions when tasting the dishes. He sure shows his love for the meals.
I like this channel because he a family man and has so much character.I just came back from Kyoto two days ago and it was fabulous except the weather, hot and humid. I knew that when I went but I still enjoyed being there. Next time I will go in October.
I was expecting Japan to be more delicious but it’s not. It’s generally very salty 😂
I am Japanese. I am glad to tell you how delicious onigiri, salmon roe, and nori are. Thank you for the wonderful video!!
Tsukiji is one of my very favorite places on Earth; the food there is to die for and I spent not one but TWO entire afternoons eating any and every thing I could find there. It's culinary heaven, pure and simple. If money were no object I'd live there. It's *that* damn good. If you're planning a Tokyo trip, definitely plan to go here. I can't wait to go back!
Oh come on man. It’s not that good! It’s a tourist trap 🪤 and it’s not as delicious as you’re describing it
I love how the Japanese food culture is centered around their love of fish and other seafood.
I took my young son to Japan before the pandemic. We had such an amazing time. I spent a year planning the trip. I haven’t been able to go since the pandemic so I’ve had a lot of fun watching your informative videos and learning more about Japan. Thank you so much. You’re very good at what you do and I like the contact in the educational/personal style of your videos and that they’re not all about eating. Good job!
That fish burger is so aesthetic.
I chuckled when Paulo got hit with nihongo jouzu xD. Great content as always.
I find street food to be one of the best ways to introduce yourself to a country's culture and style of life. Great vid.
It's also one of the best ways to introduce yourself to parasites and diarrhea. Well...depending on the country of course!
@@L-Man-Gaming lol
@@L-Man-Gaming india hahahah
Tsukiji fish market is fun but it is still a tourist trap much like Gwangjang market in Seoul
That peppercorn Pizza though oh my God!! It looks worth the plane ticket from here in the US to there!
The Tsukiji fish market looks like a fairly nice place to visit. Thanks for taking us around, Paolo. May God bless you and your family. Happy Holidays.
Thank you too
@@PaolofromTOKYO long time viewer here. Used to be Maiko was your camerawoman. With Wolfy now, is Maiko still the person behind the camera?
Sus
It’s a tourist trap but these are decent choices 😀 except Tsukiji Teppanyaki Juju. We paid 140$ for the bigger size A5 steak and sea urchin on top. And let me tell you neither was what we expected. For that price the sauce they put on top is rather cheap tasting kinda like a less sweet version of teriyaki. And the meat doesn’t melt in your mouth like some other shops. The best we had was one shop to the side where a white guy who spoke Japanese was working. Sold cubed meats on a skewer and seasoned with just sea salt. The meat cubes just melt in your mouth. Tsukiji Teppanyaki Juju was a big let down
Words can’t express how much I love watching your videos.
Glad you like them!
I love how happy you seeing the markets come back makes you! I really enjoy these fantastic tips, but your enthusiasm and joy just make it so much better Paolo!!
Ive eaten in Tsujiki Donburi Ichiba by random chance during my visit 4years ago, definitely hit the spot with the freshness.
Paola my granddaughter and I watch you all the time. We love your whole family! This was a very good video. You’re the best. God bless you all. Jean from Arizona 🌞🐍🌵⛰🌴🦎🌻🦂
Paolo Love your content , following for over 3 years! We really enjoy watching when you show natural or cultural places to see in japan in details.
14:19 passed by this place so many times, didn't know they had tuna cheek.
It's on the Must Try List for my next visit.
Rough day working in the hospital but watching your videos and seeing you excited positive attitude always cheers me up keep up the good work man
Everything in this video looks so good. Japan looks so inviting. Paolo knows all the coolest places in Japan.
I'm glad you are back showing us your favourite spots in Tokyo. Watching them before our trip in July.
Masa's burgers look great, but his fresh ginger ale is the bomb! Well worth trying to find his shop.
These are the best kinds of videos. The ones about showing daily life for people like Japanese game designers etc are interesting watches for sure, but videos like these are helping more people who can actually experience what you are showing us
OMG! THATS THE GREEN TEA I ALWAYS DRINK! I always and only buy this green tea whenever im at the area. It's really sooooooo good and smooth. Their green tea is really superb!
I liked the fish burger place. The worker was shocked like “whoa you’re Japanese is very good” haha I liked that.
Paolo seems really a good person
Hey Paolo, my siblings and I saw you filming this video! My brother was like “isn’t that paolo.” We wanted to say but you were working LOL thanks for the quality content!
You should have said hello so we can all see you in a video. :)
My friend and I were just there on the first week of December, we didn't think it was open but to our surprise, it was full blown 😃, we went to the nori store but it was too crowded so we left 😔, but I was totally happy we got to sample the experience 😁🤙🤙🤙
Yess love this content, I used all his old videos for my Japan trip a few years back, coincidentally I am now planning a trip back to Japan and was looking for new spots and he comes out with this gem! Keep up these type of videos please!!! For a video idea, can you recommend top Tokyo spots to go to for families (including areas to stay, hotels, restaurants) 😊 I trust all your recommendations!!!
Thanks Paolo! This type of videos that we need so we can start preparing for our Japan trip! More pleaseeee 😁🙏
I sooo miss Japan. I will be back soon. Thanks for this video. Will add this to my list to go to.
I'm always watching it from Japan with my 4-year-old daughter 🇯🇵👧🏻 Your videos are the best!
I’ve never wanted to go to Japan until I found this channel a few years ago. Now I seriously can’t wait to go!!! You really do an incredible job of showing what a beautiful & DELICIOUS country it is 🤤🤤🤤
That fish burger looked like the best thing to ever have a bun on it! Gosh the food in Japan is literally otherworldly it looks amazing 🥹
It’s really not! When you actually go there and have it 😂
Not the fish burger per say but generally speaking the food is salty
@@IsaacsHome-vv1hz Did you go there and try it? If yes, how was it?
@@sayantanmazumdar3 if you’re referring to tsukiji market, yes I went there twice! Once in the early morning and the other in the afternoon. Not gonna lie, the place in and of itself is fun. However with regard to the food it is quite expensive. And for what you get it is not worth it. I spent probably close to $1000 there including fruits, snacks, ice cream, japanese egg which i forget what is called, several steaks, the best one were cut pieces and seafood, which I liked the fatty tuna.
Love Tsukiji outer market... good tourists are coming back to support the businesses
Paolo's "uuunggghhh" sign of approval never gets old! 😁
Man, that all looked soooo good! Thanks for showing us around Paolo.
Food is not rational food is culture, habit, craving and idantify♥️....love from India🇮🇳
Awesome video Paolo, glad to see you back on the foodie stuff. What about doing a video on your top favorite Izakaya's or Izakaya Alleyways in Tokyo ?
I was just at Peppers Cafe and the Pizza is bomb! If you are visiting Tsukiji, you definitely want to check this place out. There’s a google map link in the video description. Just follow that and you’ll see the shop sign. Yuko and Tetsu are awesome!
Thank you very much for this in-depth video! Like always, this video provided legit info so my family and I could make a decision as to where we should go while in Japan. Just yesterday we went to Tsukiji Peppers Cafe based solely off your video and we were NOT disappointed. Thank you again!
Yay! Another adventure! So cool to travel with you! :)
As always, thanks Paolo for the great content! I am finally (after 5 years) going to Japan for the first time! I have a lot of the places you have recommended over the years since I first discovered you on my places to hit up while there 🥰 I'm so excited! And thanks for also creating a discord group! Super helpful
Videos like these are real gems. If you're planning a trip to japan, this gives you the right input to plan some less common places to visit. ❤
Could you please do a video where you visit bakeries. I would love to see all the different kinds of yummy treats they have to offer there. Thank you🤗
That teppanyaki place is the same one Mike Chen visited in the video that came out 2 days ago, great minds think alike!
So envious! Going to Japan is already a treat itself but couldnt afford it. Ingat palagi and stay safe!
That sweet potato dessert is amazing
Chris Broad had a video a few days ago where he mentioned, that he hates the Phrase "Nihongo Jouzo" since it is some sort of micro aggression towards foreigners. And Tadaaa! Paolo gets the same sentence thrown at his head in this video 😆
Never the less, I will keep noticing the different spots for my planned visit to Japan one day 😉
Of all your food videos that I've watched, this is the one I found most mouth-watering. I will certainly go to each of these places the next time I visit. Arigatou gozaimasu!
The owners, they have great craftsmanship in their food !!!
Thank you for this and all your videos. The wife said I have to do the itinerary for our trip to Tokyo next week and you don't know how much your videos help! ありがとうございました!
8:40 It's so cute that the lady tried to get out of the shot but didn't quite get out of frame lol
Such great info and entertainment. Excellent work Paolo! You make it look easy, but I know it's not. Thank you!
Another great video. I'm returning to Toyko in April and my partner and I are going to use your videos as a "tour guide," just wake up, find a video and head off and check out one of the multitudes of cool destinations.
Dang! Was just in Tokyo in Oct but your vids and maps were the biggest help! Hoping to go back to Japan in the next few months!
WOW! That Sweet Potato Parfait looked delicious. YUM.
Thanks for putting this out! Definitely will bring my family here when we go!
Love this, thanks for taking us to Tsukiji Market, we’ll definitely try the Peppers Cafe✨🫧🤍
Am currently visiting Japan, and saw this video a few months ago when planning my trip. Family and I stumbled down the alleyway shown at the beginning looking for some place to cool off from the heat. And lo and behold, we found the Pepper’s Cafe. And holy cow, their Peppercorns are INCREDIBLE. That place is no joke and EASILY one of the best and most special places we’ve stumbled across in Japan so far. Tetsu and Yoko and so sweet and took care of us so well, it was wonderful to meet them. If you are in Tsukiji, this shop is a must try. Their pizza and cola is out of this world, and the peppercorns are too. Thank you Paolo for the amazing recommendation, it was wonderful to come across such a special place from your wonderful country. ;)
I’m taking notes Paolo. Love your channel, I hope to go to Japan one day and visit all those places you recommend!
Where I live it it costs $4.80 for a Fish filet sandwich from McDonalds 😅😩😩 Thanks for taking us around Tsukiji! Beautiful and seemingly well priced!
Really cool Paolo. Thanks for showing us around!
You should do a collab with mike Chen aka strictly dumpling. He’s travels all around the world including japan and he ate at one of the same shops in this video!
You're still the #1 Japan channel for tips & recommendations. Channels of content creators' first time to Japan and their "tips" are comedy.
Best japan guide channel! Thank you for your hard work
8:00 the design of these three boxes with the Mount Fuji imprint on every side!
“Which came first? On one hand is salmon or the hand the roe?”
Paolo: “put your hands together” 👏 🤤 🍙
この人の動画の字幕は、観てて楽しくなるような工夫がしてて凄い
That phallic shaped sweet potato chip on the left at 12:22 had me 🤣, then at 13:17 when you ate it and talked about scooping it up like a champ, I nearly choked on my coffee 😳
6:06 That's so crazy. Abroad in Japan just made a video where he expressed a lot of Japanese foreigners' frustration with constantly being complimented on their speaking ability even after years living in the country. Has this been an issue for you as well? What's your perspective?
I will be travelling to Tokyo from 9-15 May 2023 and always love these new video update!!
Thank you so much for this video. I watched it before my family took a trip to Tsukiji and we happened upon the Peppers Cafe while we were with a tour group. I got so excited that I exclaimed "I know this shop! From Paolo's UA-cam!", The owners heard me and chuckled and said "Oh yes Paolo!". So when our tour was over we of course retraced our steps and made it back there for some coffee and delicious pizza! The owners and staff are so friendly and the food was super delicious! Thank you for including them in this video!
went to that tea shop and left with 4 bags. worth it. they had a yuzu matcha that was amazing
I love this channel. Paulo is positivity personified! ;p
I love these videos when you go to markets like this….your FACE of enjoyment is worth it alone to watch! Good job Paolo! 👏👏🍺🍺!
That sweet potato ice cream almost reminds me of Halo-halo in the Philippines
i remember watching your vlogs like 4 years ago when i first went to japan. and now that im going to visit tokyo again, here you are jumping on my youtube. thank you for showing up
My goodness that pizza looked sooooo good!😮
Excited to go back to eat the uni bun! I tried the wagyu skewer back in 2019. It was so good but $40 maybe a bit much.
The salmon roe Onigiri looks delicious. I very often get salmon roe sushi here in the U.S.
Always love to strolling around tsukiji and find the culinary hidden gem! Thanks for sharing 😊
I am so happy to watch again your Food Tour Video.
, looking forward to next.
Now I have to go back and watch your *_Day in the Life of a Fish Market Buyer with Naoto_* 🔥🔥
That pepper pizza is so unique! Gotta have that when I visit Japan.
huhu i want the dessert so bad. you did well with this video Paolo :)
that wagyu skewer looks awesome and the look on your face tells me its awesome. if i can suggest one thing, it would be a rating on the english level of the employees for us american tourists that dont know japanese.
I was so excited to watch this video. We are going to Japan for two weeks in October/November for a belated honeymoon and have a lunch tour booked for this market. Now I have some places to look out for!
Amazing. Thanks for the continued content.
I know one day I will make it to Tokyo. When I do I will be binge watching your videos and recommendations for the best places to go to. Dam I want that Wagyu beef and Uni!!
Watching these videos hungry is pure torture 😆🤤 great video Paolo! 🍙
Really happy to see these types of videos again
Tuna cheek is an excellent part of the fish for cooking. That donburi is definitely on my list of things to get when next in Tsukiji.
That was a fun trip round Tsukiji, I'll be sure to check them out when I go next year. (especially the wagyu beef)
Paolo your suggestions are top notch. Can't wait to be get back to Tokyo
Thank you for the wonderful recommendations Paolo!
Hi Paolo! Good job on this video and everything you do! 👍🏽
Love it Paolo!!! Enjoyed as usual!
Definitely going to check out these places to eat next month!
