Hi Matt, great video as always.
The owl you spotted is Western Barn owl or Nonnetjies uil. Probably the most common owl in Southern Africa but still I wouldn't havr suspected it there.
    Keep up the good work

These videos bring Southern Africa alive. It is just like being there. Truly magnificent scenery and breathtaking landscapes. you manage to capture the true beauty of your own backyard and share your knowledge of the heritage of the areas you visit. Being Australian i thought our landscapes were beautiful but just the vastness of the areas you visit is astounding. Looking forward to the next instalments. Be safe in your travels and take care.

Wonderful to travel on a route we have followed in 2017. My husband and myself(late sixtees) climbed the Big Daddy Dune with a lot of youngster. Thanks Matt for bringing old memories alive.

    WESTERN BARN OWL 🤙.
Love the drone footage of Sossusvlei and how you respected the main vlei by not flying there. When we were there we had someone flying their drone overhead for like 20minutes.

I too am really enjoying this series, your productions are world class, deserving of awards. Where we would disagree with each other is on the subject of Toyota. A fellow UA-camr who is fairly knowledgeable on cars refers to Toyota as the "King of Mundane" and owning a Toyota...I have to agree with him. There are much better bakkies on the market and yes it is my opinion which is subjective - although I do own a Toyota - albeit not a Hilux. Would I consider purchasing a Hilux, yes of course I would. However Toyota has ridden the wave based on people's perception and sentiment and people are often more wrong than right as us South Africans can easily attest to. The true test with any vehicle is of course when something goes wrong, is the manufacturer going to step in or are they going to throw you under the bus. Keep up the good work.

These videos are simply amazing to watch. The variety of scenery is always so great to see, and Matt- your videography and editing skills is certainly professional grade these days. When it was time to leave the desert area, did you all stop and check to see how much sand was trapped in your air filters?

Hi Matt, great video and super helpful for knowing what to expect at these iconic spots! Im travelling to Nambia end of August and I want to bring my drone, did you have any trouble bringing the drone into Namibia? Did you need to have special permits to fly it outside the national parks? Thank you!! :)

Was wondering how you managed to get a permit to fly in those areas? The last time we were there, I was too afraid to take the drone with me, as they will confiscate it.

@@Worsdier nothing to ask forgiveness, but they don't care about that. They will straight out confiscate a drone if they find it. That even includes broken ones. Just to take a drone into Namibia requires a permit.

@@jacobclaassen2061 just fly the drone, that's what I do. Fuck the law, just take other people into consideration and fly it responsibly and safely.
