Truly enjoyed this video, very relaxing and interesting. I am a mountain boy from Lesotho, those dry plains are quite a sight, Southern Africa has so much variety!
We enjoyed that route from Thobolo couple of weeks ago! Lots of fun driving the sand routes too! Did the same trip, even the lunch break under the same baobab😊 We also found game to be sparse in those parts in July...Rather unusual.
Love it, we did exactly the same route past May. Ihaha to Savuti to Kwhai. Savuti Marabou pan was a real treat for us with lions, elephants and buffalo at the waterhole. Ihaha hige buffalo herd crossing the Chobe and lions. Kwhai we had the daily elephants visit our camping spot to feed and scratch on the big acacia trees. The best was a leopard thru our camping spot while we had a braai. Next trip we gona do Zimbabwe
Beautiful. What an experience to be that close to “wild and dangerous” game as they were like North American raccoons and deer. I really enjoy your camping prowess that makes the experience that much better. Great Travels, looking forward to the next episode of your adventures.
Great video with the best narration. Love Bits, been there twice. Hope to do a different route next time. Think the guts on sandy roads than potholes one experience on dome of the minor roads in Bots. Enjoy your videos.
Again, a great video, but I am a definite ground tent person. Takes my wife and I very little time to pack. I have never felt threatened even traveling by bicycle in Bots and the Nam back in 1993. I prefer to have little weight on the roof. I do carry two spares, so prefer to keep my 18 inch rims, just increase the tyre to 65 V 60 profile.
I keep an Impact wrench in my car for quick tyre changes, I also made an adapter to use the impact wrench on my jack. nothing sucks more than a flat tyre in the middle of nowhere or in a dangerous area
Thanks, once again great. Yes, from what I have seen, places like Khwai are very rough and the game comes right into the camp. Monkeys can (anywhere) be a pest. I keep rubber snakes to try keep them away in South Africa.
used to go to the Khawi community concession a lot when i lived in Botswana, love camping there, had wild dogs kill in our campsite and leopards in the tree above the trailer.
Awesome episode. A tyre pressure monitoring system is a must have if you're doing overlanding. It will alert you to a tyre losing pressure or overheating. Vital piece of kit. Should be standard in vehicles I think. Greetings from Brisbane, Australia!
The wildlife is really awesome to get to see show up. Too bad about your tire though, and that the other vehicle smacked your truck, even if it was only the heavy duty bumper. I look forwards to each new episode.👍 Maybe look into a product like Tire-Ject for future excursions. It seals some fairly large holes, is non damaging to the rim and easily cleans off with water. I have no affiliation with them, but have seen what it can do.
Looking back to an earlier video of a Unichip and performance upgrade that you did ... just curious to hear the fuel consumption and your comments on a trip like this vs. the other Hilux ?
Good day Matt, great content, as always. Any feedback on the tyre problem at Savute. If a case of debeading, what pressure were you running? Just curious.
I think my pressure was too low. Had them at 1.8 bar which is normally fine but the walls of the ruts were so hard I think I had my sidewalls rubbed to pieces on the side of the ruts.
I use the nGauge product. It is a South African product with reasonable success. The advantage is this one works off your cell phone via blue tooth and have quite a few add ons such as battery levels as well as fridge temperature levels . All displayed on your phone
There was a large tear on the inner sidewall, so I don’t think a monitor system would have helped much. I’m quite sure it happened within a few seconds of me finding out.
@@mattdubber fair enough. I'm just saying from having experience as a farmer who need to drive on rocky roads to get to town, the tyre pressure system has saved me multiple times from destroying the wheel rim on my vehicle. Love your videos, keep it up!
Thanks for an interesting video as always. Please can you put something up about those Bushman's painting though and how you should not touch them. It'll simply degrade them faster tna mean they are not there for the next bunch of travellers.
Hey! Voetsek, that made my day 😂😂😂😂
Video starts with bird traffic, a majestic buffalo stroll and then Matt goes on to start his routine maintenance.
Thanks for bringing us along. Magic :-)
Can't believe you touched the rock paintings, someone like you shoild know better.
Howzit man, great vid as usual. On a side note, you should not touch the bushman paintings as that causes them to degrade over time
Truly enjoyed this video, very relaxing and interesting. I am a mountain boy from Lesotho, those dry plains are quite a sight, Southern Africa has so much variety!
Thanks for a great set of vids of your grand tour! Excellent filmmaking and editing!
Love the thumbnail! Well done.
Fantastic. Just got back from Botswana. It is the best place we have ever seen. You are showing it brilliantly.
Thank you for visiting Botswana!
Hey boet....you should not touch the bushman paintings.....you know, if everybody does....any how, nice report
Love your videos Matt but couldn’t believe my eyes when you touched the art 🥺

I love watching your videos.Greetings from UK,☺️☺️

Thanks Matt and Co. Looking forward to your next videos. Easy watching and very informative! Regards from Knysna.
Absolutely amazing and so enjoyable

Love this. Wish I could join you one day. Botswana never disappoints. Africa's garden of eden.
Nice trip 👍
Well done Matt great video as usual.
Very nice video! We LOVE that area of Botswana!
Thank you for bringing back awesome memories
Keep up the good work 🙂

Very interesting watching this video

Thanks for sharing. Botswana and Namibia are my two favourite places so absolutely enjoying your adventures
Show us more footage of elephants!!! Great content, thank you, Matt & team. Can’t wait for the next one.
Great episode
"Hey! Voetsak" had me dead 🤣
I'm planning a somewhat similar trip and struggling to fit it within 90 days! Cheers from Australia.
Yip, there’s a lot to cram in, that’s for sure!

great videos. perhaps something to consider is that the non towing vehicle get off the sandy road when encountering oncoming traffic
used to go to the Khawi community concession a lot when i lived in Botswana, love camping there, had wild dogs kill in our campsite and leopards in the tree above the trailer.

Epic episode thanks Matt
Hi Matt. Love what you do. Keep it up. A question if I may. Does your car fit in the garage with the new rooftop tent?
WOW! What a scenary and wildlife you got. But i got the FX factory in my country 😁 Have a good time yo all
❤Nice
Ok... next major trip you take--- fewer miles and more days to enjoy it... Seems like you're always rushed.
Good question
I would also question how many ply the sidewalls are. Then recommend four or six depending on weight not 10ply
I think my pressure was too low. Had them at 1.8 bar which is normally fine but the walls of the ruts were so hard I think I had my sidewalls rubbed to pieces on the side of the ruts.
That hyena scared the shit of us, the last time we were @ khwai.... it walked right to us in camp
Hey Matt, great and stunning video! Which Digital Map App are you using?
Have you never considered a tyre management system for early detection of a deflating tyre ?
Have thought about it, just never committed!

I drove past you🎉
@mattdubber you have so many gadgets, i'ts time to invest in a set of those tyre monitor systems.
There was a large tear on the inner sidewall, so I don’t think a monitor system would have helped much. I’m quite sure it happened within a few seconds of me finding out.

hy verstaan afrikaans!
Enjoying your videos, but bruv, dont touch the paintings.
The girls can honestly afford to skip a few meals before it becomes the Matt Blubber adventure. JUST KIDDING., LEKR VREET AND TRAVEL!
Thanks for an interesting video as always. Please can you put something up about those Bushman's painting though and how you should not touch them. It'll simply degrade them faster tna mean they are not there for the next bunch of travellers.
Just hate hyenas a very cruel animal
