Man, I'm so grateful for you and your wife for showing the world THIS version of Africa. I'm South African and ja no, you're doing the Lords work showing me how beautiful we have it here...👏🏾🤌🏾 Your videos feel so short, and yet so much work has gone into filming and editing. These deserve to be on Netflix or Discovery...
This and your shooting channel are what I look forward to all week to wind down, I miss South Africa even though I only scratched the surface, thank you Matt
I was not planning on commenting on anything but after seeing such spectacular views and above exceptional camera work. Literally BREATHTAKING with capital letters... I couldn't help to feeling jealous...That is awesome Matt. This is truly a beautiful place... Thank you for sharing and stay blessed.
I was bored and now I'm not. Beautiful country and scenery. I am always eagerly looking forward to your next video. Stay safe and thank you both so much.
Sometimes there's a good reason there are roads less traveled. That first crossing into Namibia seems like one of them. Love these journey's no matter what. The scenery is simply amazing!
Breathtakingly beautiful! Your videos have inspired me. Bakkie getting fitted with new canopy, rooftop tent and awning this morning 😁 Loving this series and the amazing shots and music.
Awesome video as always. Having the vehicles in some of the shots of the canyon is the only thing that gives one an inkling of the incredible scale of it. Beautifully done.
Brilliant decision to try an alternative border post. We had lots of issues during covid but mostly its just the person and not the process that's problematic. We love your channel 👍
Amazing footage, Matt. I’m really looking forward to the upcoming episodes, and of course I had to give you a thumbs up for the butter chicken! I just have to say that Southern Africa looks a lot like Saudi Arabia. It’s uncanny.
So wonderful to relive our trip through your eyes. Will follow you up north all the way. Thanks. I am looking for the music you used whilst showing the Canyon.is it possible to share the info??
Very beautiful and lekker. Awesome. I would have done the same thing at the border crossing, just gone to another one. Always remember no two government officials carry the same rule book. 😃🤠 regards from Tom.
As you’ve returned from your trip, you might already have learnt this trick but just in case. When closing your Roof top tent, leave the doors open ( I normally lay mine flat ) so that the air can escape. Makes closing easier and reduces the change of the canvas getting caught between the two frames
Well done Matt just take care using the drone in Namibia they are quite strict if you don't have a permit and, more specifically, national park areas like the canyons. Enjoy Namibia I was quite surprised by the arid beauty.
Matt, are you going to share the rest of the trip in Gaia routes? I got the one in the first episode and thought we would get the second one in this episode. Wonderful trip and totally enthralled! Thank you for this.
Hey Bud, the insurance and bank letter is not a technicality at all, it’s standard practice across all borders. If you get through without them you’re lucky
Amazing! Planning this trip for next year. Actually watched the following video before this one. Quick one, what paperwork is required for the drone and I assume they don't have a problem if you fly it at the canyon? Great video. PS. What time of the year did you go?
I’m still at 1:41 in the video and I’m keen to see the adventure ahead but I just wanted to ask - what mapping software are you using that shows elevation changes on the way to your destination?
Hi Matt ...I m shooting 40grains slugs out of my fx impact mkII using the Slug power kit ,700mm superior liner, only worrying issue is that I want some speed as mine is shooting out slugs at 915-920 fps at power wheel in max ....I have tuned the valve adjuster too now I keep it at the 2nd ringor mark ...I have heavier hammer too ...but using the standard fx one with the 2washers from the power kit ...kindly let me know to increase the speed to about 1000fps or 980fps
Catching this series 2 months later, but all good. Almost had a heart attack about the Insurance papers 🤕 Thankfully the detour paid off. Please get us some discount at Eezi awn, looking for a tent.
Sorry about the hurdle, but it helps cos anything happens in your car while you are outside SA, it’s the easiest way out from your insurance to pay you 🙏🏾
"Very frustrating. You have to be prepared for this stuff, especially in Africa..." But, Matt!! Why would you not have your cross-border documentation ready? Your friends clearly had it, hence they could crossed! 🤦🏽♂️
Hope you got your border letter... Technically you left SA without informing the bank which could lead to your finance contract being cancelled... Risky... Will also be required at the other borders especially Botswana and Zimbabwe... Risking your vehicle being seized
Can't believe I only just found this series. Time to binge!

We crossed over into Namibia at Onseepkans in 2013. What a beautiful country it was and still is.
This and your shooting channel are what I look forward to all week to wind down, I miss South Africa even though I only scratched the surface, thank you Matt
I am Loving this series 😭😭❤️🔥❤️🔥, can we get at least one video a week, 1 video every 2 days is killing us 😭😭😭
I was not planning on commenting on anything but after seeing such spectacular views and above exceptional camera work.
Literally BREATHTAKING with capital letters...
I couldn't help to feeling jealous...That is awesome Matt. This is truly a beautiful place... Thank you for sharing and stay blessed.
Another awesome episode Matt. Love the simplicity of your setup and how you all camp. Thank you for sharing.

Love the desert landscape. As an artist I just want to reach for a paintbrush all the time, my fingers itch! Beautiful video, thank you 😍
got my vote Matt and the team, good drone control and just fantastic views, I love those roads boet!
Awesome video as always. Having the vehicles in some of the shots of the canyon is the only thing that gives one an inkling of the incredible scale of it. Beautifully done.

The absence of guardrails at your sundowner gives me anxiety. Great content, thanks for bringing us along.

chicken is not a meat in Nam, it's a vegetable. FYI 🙂
Jeez Matt, I had to wait too long for part 2!! Thanks for my fix...

So wonderful to relive our trip through your eyes. Will follow you up north all the way. Thanks. I am looking for the music you used whilst showing the Canyon.is it possible to share the info??
Impressive canyon 👍

Great stuff. Many thanks from the UK.

Wishing you all the happens and enjoyable
What an epic trip!!
Matt you must do the hiking trail in the canyon. It is one of those things that you must do in live. Its an experience you will never firget.
Amazing, Thank You!!
I missed you, Matt!! Awesome video
Well done Matt just take care using the drone in Namibia they are quite strict if you don't have a permit and, more specifically, national park areas like the canyons. Enjoy Namibia I was quite surprised by the arid beauty.

Sweet video!!🔥
Amazing!
Cool . Hope your meal of shoprite chicken was ok.

Matt, I noticed that you did supply in episode three. Maybe just check episode two.
Hey Bud, the insurance and bank letter is not a technicality at all, it’s standard practice across all borders. If you get through without them you’re lucky
Thanks!
Legend! Thank you
Great content bud
Awesome drone footage. Mind sharing what model drone is that?
amazing country
Awesome footage as usual! But why not in 4k?
Amazing! Planning this trip for next year. Actually watched the following video before this one. Quick one, what paperwork is required for the drone and I assume they don't have a problem if you fly it at the canyon? Great video.
PS. What time of the year did you go?
You have to have a letter from the bank and insurance. We had that, 😊and a lot of meat the guy at the border post took for himself. Lol
For road surfaces, often Google Maps satellite view / Google Earth can zoom in enough to whether the surface is paved or not...
I’m still at 1:41 in the video and I’m keen to see the adventure ahead but I just wanted to ask - what mapping software are you using that shows elevation changes on the way to your destination?

Are you using the Guide App from Tracks for Africa?
Please publish steps on how to make those plaat vetkoeks.
Bells!

If the vehicle is registered on the banks or somebody else's name than you need a permission letter in order to cross.
I'm interested in your choice of Gaia vs Tracks 4 Africa? I know this is only the second video, but can you share your reasons for the choice?
Gaia has far better map layers. Tracks 4 africa is good but doesn’t give much context aside from the roads themselves.
@@mattdubber thanks. Looking for an option for a trip to Botswana, so will investigate Gaia a little more now.
I always run into Sunway Safaris everytime I hit the road to Namibia. I saw you ran into them as well...
Looking forward to the next coming episodes.
"Very frustrating. You have to be prepared for this stuff, especially in Africa..." But, Matt!! Why would you not have your cross-border documentation ready? Your friends clearly had it, hence they could crossed! 🤦🏽♂️
I bet when you saw that dassie you wanted to klap him with a FX😂

I’ve now crossed borders more than 10 times and have never been asked for this before. The guys who traveled with me were not asked either.
