A great diagnostic video. I grew up with points and condensers. There was a panic when GM came out with electronic points. Now we diagnose with a scan tool and a Picoscope. Thank you for sharing.
Great video Brian. Knowing and understanding the system isn't always as easy as it seems. Fairly in depth research is becoming a requirement of the job more and more. Good job and keep the videos coming.
Thank you! I was hesitant to even publish this video, not happy with the quality and many errors, however that is what we do and how we learn. I appreciate the positive encouragement.
@@BrianMann216 indeed that is how we learn. I've run into the same issues and as long as I can make a coherent lesson out of it, I post. As we all know, even when we have factory SI, it can be misleading or omit important information outright.
From what I know on these Chrysler - fiats now the only way to erase codes is to have an account threw tech authority because there is security gateway module but not sure if u can read the cods
Hey Brian we chatted after Brandon's class at Super Saturday , Here to check out your channel I liked the content, subbed and will check out your others as well. Thanks for sharing your experience
Hey thanks for taking the time. I am all ears to what techs, and the general public would like me to make videos about. It really is a ton of fun to make the videos and I get to learn along the way.
Great video. I've been troubleshooting my 2012 Grand Cherokee. There is binding of the wheels during slow speed maneuvering - and it exhibits the blinking dial switch also as you showed here. Getting a replacement for the module is a pain - it is on backorder everywhere (is the global microchip shortage the cause?). In this video it seemed like you got a replacement module quickly. I sure hope I can lay my hands on one without too much trouble....
I have the most basic of trouble code reader... nothing comes up. I have thought about taking it to a shop to try getting the same kind of basic confirmation as you got when your software was unable to communicate with the module.... but I'm presently not working, so I'm trying to avoid the cost of hiring a mechanic to plug in & diagnose it. Oooooo - that just reminded me. I believe that the auto parts store near me (Pep Boys) does no-charge scans to help customers determine what their issues are..
@@philh9238 $50 for 3 days I use a j box when needed. Note you need a tech authority sub as well for programming $26.95 / day. Annual subs are available for both. That topology "map" is I call it is nice. To see that module coming and going sure was helpful.
@@philh9238 I can try that. It is a bit confusing even to me as I hardly use witech any more. I think it took me like 20 minutes to get mine working due to updates etc. Btw do you think there are shops in your area that would want a course locally from me?
Hello. So what could my jeeps problem be? I have a 2012 overland grand cherokee and the select knob module where you choose the terrain is completely dead. No lights on at all. Please help!

"Another fine chrysler product" sums up my feeling dealing with these stupid things! Thanks for the video

I had to replace the transfer case control module - it is a 2-minute fix

Nice diagnosis. Where did you get the jumpers at you used on the module? Site has sure is a beautiful thing with the topology layout

It’d be super helpful if you could make a video on how to buy and set up the subscription. I know how to do ford and gm but not Chrysler really

Check the powers and grounds to the module
What if the select trac has no power to the switch? My select track isn’t illuminated and it says to complete shift to neutral alllow engine to idle.
Where does it get its power from.. check fuses?
@@BrianMann216 check every dtcm fuse. My cigarette lighter doesn’t work, but I doubt that’s the issue
