We want better file naming!! REC0001, REC0002 etc. naming convention for both TX1 and TX2 is a post production nightmare, (particularly when viewed in Finder/Explorer window), and when we need to do multiple data dumps a day. Let us change the default naming convention to be a unique file name, for example that starts with YYMMDD and that identifies TX1 and TX2; or a custom name like 'BOOM' and "LAV'.

I do 5 and six person interviews so have bought multiple wireless Pro packages - it would be great if it the receivers could wirelessly detect each other in order to sync - or if there is potential to create a new RX device that can receive 6 channels (or 8!) for the purposes of mixing - I'm sure this would be welcomed by the community as it makes the product scalable - thanks for the update!

Please give us an option to disable the auto on when we detach the units from the charging case. This is really not useful.
It would be very helpful if the file names from each transmitter weren't duplicates - maybe just an "L" prefix from one and "R" from the other? Or A&B?
Please give us a battery level indicator for the charging case in Rode Central.
Please add a 6th timecode mode which simply gives us TC via USB, and split L&R via 3.5mm output.
Please give us more range on the Loudness output in Rode Central, lower that -25 LUFs. It's often the case that the level is too low with Loudness off, and too high at -25.
There seems to be a bug which means that we end up with a large number of randomly long and short files on the transmitters, even in "Always" recording mode - I'm fully aware of the file size limit, this is something else.

bring back the „backup mode“: TX units start recording as soon as RX unit is switched on.
Possibility to disable record buttons on TX units, or better: disable the buttons to end a recording that was started by the RX unit.
Add an output option with splitted audio signal + TC (on USB port?)

I'd certainly like to be able to jam synch the Pro from an external source. Also, to name each TX unit, and have its filenames reflect the unit's name - makes for much easier file handling in post. Currently, if I've cleaned the memory on both, they generate identical filenames - but Dave_051120223_1 and Gill_051120223_1 are much more useful.
I'd also like to know how, say, the Wireless Go II TXs will work with the Pro RX - will they also inherit the timecode? If so, this is a gae changer for me.
You can rename the TX by double clicking on the name in Rode Central. You can export files for each TX to it's own individual folder, very simple.

While it is possible to rename your Wireless PRO units, having more helpful filenames is certainly something we're looking into. The Wireless GO II transmitters will work with the Wireless PRO recievers, but you won't be able to use additional features like timecode or 32-bit float. It's also worth noting that only two transmitters may be connected to any RØDE Wireless unit at one time.
What we really need is a noise cancellation feature!!

The Wireless GO II transmitters will work with the Wireless PRO recievers, but you won't be able to use additional features like timecode or 32-bit float. It's also worth noting that only two transmitters may be connected to any RØDE Wireless unit at one time, so you won't be able to add more mics to a reciever by utilising this compatibility, moreso than you could before.

Cool! Thanks Rode for making updates and listening to your consumers!! As someone who owns and uses the RWP, I'd love the ability to jam the RX unit from an external timecode device via the 3.5mm jack like a tentacle sync would make this fit our current timecode workflow seamlessly. Also, to have the ability or option to decided to keep the RX unit turned on when placed inside the charging case to charge rather than having it shut down which I've found resets timecode (This is a HUGE bummer because it defeats the PRO ability of timecode). Lastly, being able customize the recorded files names from REC0000 to a custom name instead of having to rename them in rode central when exporting, this is just another extra step that takes time and that would add a lot of value when managing files for a shoot using the Rode Wireless Pro.

It should be possible the other way? Use the Rode RX as Master and sync your tentacles? We are using UltraSync Ones and do it that way (there you have the advantage that one UltraSync serves as an RF Master for the other units) Works well. Was asking Rode to give an option with split audio and TC output to keep it in sync all the time.
FYI, you can jam the Tentacle Sync from the RWP, then sync all your devices to the tentacle synced. I just tested it, works fine. But you're right, would be great to be able to jam the RWP from other devices like Tentacle Sync.
Thanks @filmsbyaaronguerrero. We are currently looking into an update which would allow our users to sync timecode from an external device. However, it may also be worth knowing that it is already possible to sync your Wireless PRO with your Tentacle Sync unit but utilising that products ability to sync from external devices, as other users on this thread have noted.

Yeah jamming another device using the RWP works but I couldn’t rely on it. Partially because the lack of ext jamming timecode abilities right now and because it doesn’t have a long enough battery life without restarting timecode. (Yes you can use a battery pack but at that point it’s another little thing to the 100 other things I need to worry about on a shoot so it doesn’t make it a PRO product, yet…) This could be solved by having the ability to keep the unit on and running/connected even while it’s inside the case and like you mentioned, an update allowing ext jamming.
As a user, I appreciate this response and will continue to use RODE products because you guys listen to the people using it!

Hey there @TheICUChannel! Good question - if your camera has a 3.5mm mic input and it supplies plug-in power to your device, it will work with this feature!

Glad for the updates. I agree with other comments. We need a better naming convention and it should be a rolling one so that we don't get duplicate names. Also please add the option for a long press on the record button. Twice now I've had talent stop the recording on the microphone accidentally when it's been in their pocket. If they had to hold the button down to stop the record then we wouldn't run into this problem.

Guys, are you working with some cable to use timecode on fx3 via micro-usb just like tentacle sync did it? The one provide by Sony is far from practical!

I came to this video in the hopes that RODE would clarify their intent to offer the ability to jam-sync the Wireless Pro receiver to an external timesync source such as a TC-1 or MixPre II audio recorder. It would make the overall workflow more consistent for many users. I see this is a common theme with many of the comments here. I'm at once encouraged (by our hive mind, lol) and discouraged by the lack of response from RODE. Please RODE - what are you waiting for?
please make timecode also available from an external device. I´d love to have my Deity TC-1 timecode generator as masters and sync the wireless pro to it.
If i do it the other way round and use the Rode WIreless as Master, there is some drift between them.
Does the receiver utilize the camera plug in power delivered to it for anything else other than detecting if the camera is on or off? My Nikon Z8 has the option to turn on or off sending of the plugin power, but I don't know what the requirements of the Røde receiver are in that respect. By the way, Nikon Z8 and Z9 are missing in the list of presets in Røde Central.

I would love to be able to send Audio (merged or splitt) via 3.5mm and TC over USB. As an FX30 owner that would allow me to have TC in my metadata while still have great imbedded audio from the Lavs on TX1 and TX 2

I was told at the BILD expo in NYC that the next firmware update will be able to jam timecode to external input. Will this come in the next update?

Note however that also posted an official rode video saying external timecode jam is not available yet but will in the future (by use of a confident wink). I'm referring to the "all your questions answered video" or something along that title.

So I can use my old Wireless Go 2 transmitters with a Pro receiver? Do the high pass filter feature etc work in that configuration?

It's also worth noting that only two transmitters may be connected to any RØDE Wireless unit at one time, so this won't expand the number of mics you can connect to your reciever.
Is there a way to add the audio processing from the Rodecaster Duo that is tuned for the Wireless Pro in post?
That's not possible at this time, @fromdonwithlove, but you'll surely be able to add similar effects in the post-production suite of your choice.
Would love if multiple systems could run the same timecode in sync. For instance I have 5 Rode wireless pro systems (10 mics, 5 receivers) as of right now I have no way to keep them perfectly in sync based on timecode and have to clap sync the other 8 and keep running all day to make sure the sync stays. By implementing a way to make multiple systems run synced timecode you could potentially sell so many more units as it would entice users to buy multiple kits as they need more mics.
Hey @CompleteGeekTV- always great to hear from power users like yourself! It's awesome to hear you're able to use so many units as a part of the work you do. We'll pass your feedback about an external timecode sync mode onto the team.
Until then, the unit's time-of-day timecode is updated when connecting the units to RØDE Central. So if you connect two WiPRO systems to the RØDE Central (desktop or phone), they won't be 100% syncronised, but they will be accurate with each other to within about a second.
You'll still need to manually sync your files, but they will roughly be in the right place on your timeline.
RØDE is absolutely crushing it lately! Love the pace and quality of innovation.

Many audio recorders now work with timecode from UltraSync Blue Bluetooth TC system. It would be nice to be able to jamsync the Wireless Pro from Ultrasnyc blue, maybe via the smartphone.
Hey there- while we are looking into ways to sync the Wireless PRO's internal clock from an external source, this won't be possible using bluetooth.
@@rodemic Hi. I did not mean to implement Bluetotth inside Wireless Pro. Either in Rode Central or in a separate device. I can imagine Rode taking the lead as Time
code is concerned and either release an external timecode box that can interface with as many different timecode systems as just possible. Also support several other Wireless Pro kits in the proximity. That device could have the Atomos Ultrasync Blue bluetotth protocol implemented as well, as it is open to all manufacturers. Zoom, Tascam do support it, there are iOS software that also support it. Rode could support it via such a timecode box, or via the Rode Central running on bluetooth enabled devices anyway. That is what I thought. There are many-many different timecode systems around, if Rode could interface with several of them, it would be a massive success on the market.
Hey RØDE! I love my Wireless PRO! Great Product! Is there a way to use the TIMECODE PAIRMENT with DEITY TC-1 in a future Firmware update? I use the Wireless PRO in a professional Environment and the TC support for other Brands like DEITY TC-1is missing, esspecially when it is in used in conjuntion with the digital Clapperboard.

Can I use both lav mics from the Rode Wireless Pro with the rodecaster duo with just one transmitter. Or do I need a extra transmitter?
Hey there- the internal reciever in the RØDECaster Duo can be used with up to two transmitters at once. However, at this time, these transmitters can only replace the unit's XLR combo inputs. This means that on the RØDECaster Duo, you couldn't use four Wireless PRO transmitters at once, only two. However, you could use a RØDE USB mic in the USB2 input as well for a maximum of three mics.
If you wanted to record four transmitters on a RØDECaster Pro II, you could do this by using the internal reciever for the first two transmitters, and then using an SC11 and two VXLRs for the third and fourth with an external reciever.

Is it any rode wireless mic that you don’t need to depend of a computer or firmwares? Just plug in and go?
Hey @vianilism2893, while it is necessary to use a desktop computer to retrieve your recordings, and while it is necessary to use a computer or phone with RØDE Central to update your device's firmware, the unit is also ready to use out of the box without any setup process, so the answer is "yes", but it really depends what you'd like to do.
The auto off / on feature does not seem to work when using USB-C instead of 3.5mm, can this be addressed or is it a limitation of using USB-C for the audio data. I.E. if I plug the Pro into a DJI Action 4 via 3.5 it will turn on / off with the camera, if I use usb-c, or 3.5 to usb-c it will not auto turn the Pro on / off.
Hey @PrestonGladd, this is by design as the aformentioned feature is designed to work with the plug in power spec, which can't be sent through a USB port.
Is there any way to add the ability to accept timecode from something like a Zoom F6 or Sound Devices Mix Pre 6 II? Having this as a safety/redundancy track could open up a WORLD of possibilities.
Just to clarify do you mean the zoom H6 or F6. If F6, could you just jam the timecode from the Rode into the Zoom and because both have the temperature compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) they’d stay synced for a day or so?

The Wireless PRO doesn't receive timecode, it only generates it - this means it can be used to jamsync with any other timecode devices, cameras and audio recorders that are able to have their internal clock synchronised to a source device. For third party devices, we recommend consulting with their user guide to understand whether they're capable of this or not.

The last section in video about the røde wireless pro is compatible with røde wireless go ii, ME and rødecasters was bluntly mentioned. How are you they compatible in what way? Rødecasters, one and two? Or just two? What about the Røde Streamer X? What about the Røde Duo? 😮😮😮 I really don't understand what exactly you mean that they are compatible now. Please explain in a new video about this

You can pair your Wireless PRO with other RØDE Series IV wireless devices to transmit audio, including the Wireless ME, Wireless GO II, RØDECaster Pro II, RØDECaster Duo and Streamer X.

Hey there- Bluetooth is not a feature of the Wireless PRO. The Wireless PRO doesn't receive timecode, it only generates it - this means it can be used to jamsync with any other timecode devices, cameras and audio recorders that are able to have their internal clock synchronised to a source device, such as the Wireless PRO receiver. Rode is like my favorite audio company right now. But I still do wish they improved the build-in mic quality (even though it's the best at this price point) of the Rode Wireless pro and make it a little smaller.

Great update. One thing I find strange is having to choose whether to have merged, split or safety channels. A future update I'd love to see is for it to auto switch between modes depending on whether there are two transmitters connected or one. Id personally like split audio when using 2 TX and safety channel when using 1 TX. This is how it worked with an unmentionable rival wireless system I sold when I bought the wireless pro

I want the same time code on several Rode go pro sets….I have several Røde go pro sets and want to use them together. But I am not able to get them to have exact time code, even though I have used them in the same charging case right after each other. Is there a way to fix this? That would be really helpful when I will match them in the edit.
The answer is no- the Wireless PRO cannot accept an incoming timecode to sync to, so you can't connect them together.
However, the unit's time-of-day timecode is updated when connecting the units to RØDE Central. So if you connect two WiPRO systems to the RØDE Central (desktop or phone), they won't be 100% syncronised, but they will be accurate with each other to within about a second.

Thanks for an exciting product here are the updates I want.
1 When the receiver is in TC mode on USB-C, I want split audio put from minijack reciver, so audio from transmitter no. 1 on the left channel and transmitter no. 2 on the right channel via the minijack output. This so that I can use this sound in the editing (such as when the receiver is not in TC mode) because then I only need to use 32 bit float when the sound on the actual recording is bad. This solution is also practical in relation to being able to listen on the minijack output on receivers. Now one or both audio tracks will have TC sound which is inconvenient for listening
2 That Røde Central can transfer information to Premiere, regarding markers created in Røde GO
the receiver or transmitter. And drop out information. That it will be easier to sync up the sound where there is an error.
3 Would like it to be possible to rename the disk/transmitters so that it becomes easier to understand what is track one and what is track two. Now both disks appear on the Mac
as WirelessPRO and this name cannot be changed unfortunately.
4 Simple indicator of how much power there is in the charging case both in the app on the Mac and on the mobile In the app as I see the status of transmitters and receivers
5 That when I connected the transmitters and charge the case to the mac that they always come up as external disks. Now this is unstable, sometimes even Røde Central has the app not shown the recordings from the transmitters/as if they were not there. But when I connected one
second mac I got full access again.
6 The TC code from the transmitters, it is not easy to know when the TC on the transmitter has been registered. I see it first in Premiere. Could that info be available via the phone/red app
7 Lavier with clips on the hold, not so well made. Is there a simple way to make this improve/that a better solution is made for this.
8 how to adjust the level of only one of the transmitters in the receiver?
9 The RØD GO ii got a place in the charging case and I could charge and update the transmitter and receiver. Then afterwards a video where Røde says that this will not work. Why?

1. This is already possible, simply turn timecode "on" but leave the unit in "split" mode.
2. This is also possible, if you export your recordings using RØDE Central, your recordings will feature your markers and you will be able to utilise these markers in Premiere Pro.

8. Turn GainAssist off, then adjust the input gain in each transmitter manually.
9. The charge cases of the Wireless PRO and Wireless GO II are not compatible.
10. If you choose to use multiple Wireless PRO recievers in the same area, we can't guarantee that your audio won't be free to RF interference. If you choose to do this, we recommend distancing your recievers as far as you can from eachother using cables. If they are at least one metre from eachother, that will make interference much less likely.
1? I dont understand. I want to feed the FX3 with a excact same timecode from the røde reciver. In split mode it do not share timecode, or ? I believed I had to use tc mode 2 or 5...i have tried to feed the camera with timecode and the go to split mode but then it will be some frames different. I dont understand why the audio is only merged. Or is there something I dont understand?. 2 Great, do you have a video that show how you do this? 3 and 4 great! 5 Okay. 6 not so important. 8 okay great, but will you the loose the dymanic gain? 9 strange you say this because I did put my Røde Go ii in the charging case to Røde Go Pro and it fits and I could update them and charge them (røde go ii) so how is it not compatible?? 10 okay thank you for the tips.

Hey @dennisglomm5026, the hardware in recievers of the Wireless PRO, Wireless GO II and Wireless ME will only allow for two transmitters at one time.

Is it possible to sync more than two devices to the same timecode? I don’t mean transmitting the audio to the receiver. I understand that there are not unlimited channels we can work with and that the wireless capabilities are limited.
But can I have for example 5 transmitters which will record internally but all have the same timecode because I synced them all to the receivers timecode?
If not, is this something that can come with a firmware update? And if it will be possible in the future - will there be the option to buy standalone transmitters?
Please add:
1. Ability to monitor live audio while using timecode mode 1, but without the timecode noise, eg with the usb output.
2. Ability to change timecode framerate using the receiver, and without any external devices.

Can you have two RWP units (2 RX + 4 TX) having the same Timecode ? If so, how to ?
The answer is no- the Wireless PRO cannot accept an incoming timecode to sync to, so you can't connect them together.
However, the unit's time-of-day timecode is updated when connecting the units to RØDE Central. So if you connect two WiPRO systems to the RØDE Central (desktop or phone), they won't be 100% syncronised, but they will be accurate with each other to within about a second.
You'll still need to manually sync your files, but they will roughly be in the right place on your timeline.

Firmware update doesn't even work with my Wireless Go II using the Rode Central 2.0.39. It keeps on closing after less than a minute, I am updating from 2.2.3 to 2.4.6, trying many times with no success. Hope there is a tutorial to fix this issue.

Why then i starting record from receiver record not starting simultaneously? near 80 milliseconds difference in time. It is so annoying. Maybe you can fix this?

Hey there, we don't have a timeline for this update yet but it is certainly something we're looking into.
I want "auto deleting recorded files feature".
The sound recorded in the TXs is for "back up onkly when there was a problem" for me, so usulally, I don't use them.
But if I don't constantly delete files piled up in the TXs, they cannot record any more unless there is a space, which is not useful as back-up.
Thus, please add an option "auto deleting feature". Highly suggested.
Hey there! You can easily delete all files on your Wireless PRO by pressing the "delete" button, on the main settings page. If you are ever at a shoot and you've forgotten to delete your recordings and you want to free up your storage, you can do this using RØDE Central for iOS or Android.

Yes, actually, I know the feature.
But if I forget to do that, then they cannot record internally anymore.
(And actually, I cannot delete files because they are back up until we could confirm there is no error in the data, but new shottings begin before then.)
To avoid that, I want auto deleting feature in which they automatically delete files from the OLDER ones when we record new ones.

I want to be able to charge the transmitter’s without taking the lavaliere mic off... I always use the transmitter with lavaliere and it would be very practical if I could charge them with lavaliere on. You can fix this with designing the next new charging case so it will fit or have the usb-c in put on the other side of the transmitter. That would be really great.

The charging container should have a charging indicator like the transmitters or receiver. By connecting the case to the computer you cannot see the charge of the container itself

Please add the ability to read TC from a Tentacle Sync device.
Hey Jean- we are looking into this feature, but it may be helpful to know you are already able to sync timecode with your device, since the Tentacle Sync E can sync with timecode from an external device. If you were already aware of that, no worries!

I just went to go update mine and it's saying that mine is up-to-date with 1.2.4. I did a factory reset and removed and reinstalled the rode app
You need to make sure you're using RØDE Central on a desktop computer and ensure that you're using the latest version of Central (2.0.38). If you're not using the latest version of RØDE Central you can download it from our website.

Not sure I get what you are saying. If you turn on timecode, you can visualize timecode on the receiver screen, and timecode is written to the files in both transmitters at the same time. You dont have to output timecode in any timecode mode on the jack or USB. I use it that way.
I would like to display the TC that is embedded in the audio recordings, without having to output a TC signal. I need the two channels with TX1 and TX2 sending audio to RX (split mode, not TC), but I wanna be able to know what TC is embedded in the audio file so I can roughly sync other devices in the same ballpark. @@ww1www
@@jean-charlesguichard6420 But where do you want to see that timecode? On the receiver screen? It is displayed there, I use it exactly this way. Timecode is on, but timecode mode is split (or merge), TC is not output anywhere, only embedded into the audio files on the transmitters. I can see the timecode on the display, so I show it to the camera.

@@rodemic the Wireless PRO kit is 7 hours...Only if the TX and RX distance is less than 10m... beyond (when you want to hide microphones for shows etc.) the autonomy drops to 5H, 5H30.. This is too little for a continuous working day ...ideally it would take 9 hours...
