Cutting Instructions Block 1
From Fabric
• A: Cut one (1) 7” x 7” square
• B: Cut one (1) 7” x 7” square
• C: Cut four (4) 3-1/2” x 3-1/2” squares
• D: Cut four (4) 3-1/2” x 3-1/2” squares
Sewing Instructions
Step 1
Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of Fabric A. With RST align 1, Fabric A 7” square and 1, Fabric B 7” square matching corners and edges. Sew a 1/4" seam on each side of diagonal line drawn. Cut each A/B unit along the solid diagonal line drawn. Press seams. Trim each A/B units to 6-1/2” x 6-1/2” squares.
Step 2
With RST align one (1) Fabric C 3-1/2” x 3-1/2” square and one (1) Fabric D 3-1/2” x 3-1/2” square. Sew ¼’ seam down right side. Make four (4) C/D units. Press seams.
Step 3
With RST, take two (2) C/D units, match seams so that one (1) C/D is on top of one (1) D/C unit. Sew ¼” seam. Make two. Press seams. Trim each C/D/D/C unit to 6-1/2” x 6-1/2” squares.
Step 4
With RST, align (1) A/B unit and one (1) C/D/D/C unit and sew ¼’ seam along right side. Make two. Press seams.
Step 5
Sew rows together. Press seams.
Step 6
Trim block to 12-1/2” x 12-1/2”
