Great video Steve. I just recently came across your channel. Your wargame presentations are every bit as good as any on UA-cam. I appreciate the way you don't just offer reviews of games but also do top notch playthroughs. Keep up the good work.
Hi Steven, thanks for making this video! I'm following along, and I'm curious if you mis-used the naval support unit t the 41:10 mark. Isn't that strongpoint sitting behind the naval support line? Also, I believe the naval support markers can only be used when attacking a clear or town hex, unless that rule is overridden by something during the 2nd wave? EDIT: oops I spoke to early, but for anyone watching, I think my second point is still worthy of note.
I have just acquired this game, and have it unboxed next to me. This was a very good introductory video - you learn more from your mistakes sometimes than from doing things right - and I really enjoyed it. I was really impressed by your First Wave results - may my dice rolls be as good as yours 😄
Ted reached out and caught more mistakes than I was able to notice myself. I will address those things at the beginning of the next video. Nothing too crazy but good to comment on. One worth calling out now: the example of play is correct, the causeway hexside helps movement through marsh terrain.
It was an intentional design decision to incorporate the campaign further in-land at the cost of Cherbourg. I don't think it is an issue of 'competence'.
1:07 good idea getting that book.
Great video. Have just started the game and this really helped. Expecting the next videos to be just as useful

Nice video. Also appreciate taking time to talk about the background book - I think this is important part of the hobby. //Good job - keep it up!

Mon the map Port En Bessin is in the British Zone not the US zone
No Allied Drop DRs ? I am sorry if I missed something

I still can't believe the incompetence that went into not having Cherbourg on the map.

Er, it was a deliberate abstraction to create more space in the southern part of the map for the Falaise pocket. Disgraceful comment.
"Incompetence". And how many highly regarded, award winning war games have you designed Helena? I'm guessing the answer is between -1 and 0
Yeah, if only Ted's only map of France had included the Cotentin Peninsular. Idiotic OP.
