- Calling out all PRAWN LOVERS!!
We’re going down heritage lane again this week. Another special dish in Peranakkan Cuisine, a must have during festive or special occasions.
It’s delicate, rich, sweet, fruity, savory so complexed with layers of flavors but yet delicately balanced.
It’s a pleasure to cook too, as the aromas fill the kitchen and get everyone’s appetite going!

Yeay, so excited for this dish! I have been wanting to cook this dish for awhile. There are few variation. I wonder if I omit belachan, it will turn out ok? Will try making soon.
Hello, belacan one of the ingredients that gives that umami to this dish. So if you omit it, it’ll prolly going to be abit bland. But if it’s for allergy purposes then yea maybe can try season with more fish sauce :)

Hahhaha whenever I can’t find candle nut / buah keras, I substitute with cashews or macadamia nuts ..
@Sherson Can I substitute the Prawns with something else? Allergic to Prawns.
