HALAL HOKKIEN YEE MEE (BRAISED CHINESE NOODLES) | SHERSON LIAN

  • This week we’re whipping up another one of a local favourite Chinese dishes, Braised Yee Mee or better known as Hokkien Yee Mee. An extremely flavourful noodle dish that absorbs all that delicious thick dark sauce combined with some fresh seafood. It’s mouthwatering and super easy to do from home so make sure to give it a try for your friends and family, they’re going to love it! Have a great Sunday guys!
    Ingredients:
    - Yee Mee
    - Chicken Breast
    - Sesame Oil
    - Soy sauce
    - White Pepper
    - Salt
    - Tapioca starch
    - Fish Cake
    - Cabbage
    - Mustard
    - Garlic

    - Prawns

    Thanks Chef. Tried the dish, and instead of the sole fish granules, I used a bit chicken stock cube and a tiny bit of tomyam cube. The chicken and tomyam stock made the dish, I think, tastier. Thanks.

    Yummy..I love the normal Hokkien Mee….But can try use this recipe…Any idea what to substitute the ‘Zhu Yau Char’ tat you normally put in the non halal Hokkien Mee?Thank you 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

      A good substitute is chicken fat, render and fry then until crisp then use the oil to make the noodles save the cracklings as toppings :)
