Ha, hearing you get a kick out of the Guzzi was pretty cool. Reminds me why I've been riding them for the past 19 years. The bikes don't always make sense on paper, but then again, we're not riding the piece of paper are we! ;-)

From this video, it looks surprisingly quick through the 1st 3 gears. Sounds good too Love the color also. That bike is great for 2 lane roads, some 4 lane divided hwy., but not the interstates. Love the scenery where you guys are riding. Not much traffic.

Congratulations Mr Macke, you are the only person who knows how to pronounce Guzzi correctly lol. I have a MG750 special 2013, and a 1994 BMWr80RT, both the same horsepower, but the beemer is older and heavier, so the Guzzi takes off like a rocket in comparison, and its 50bhp is sufficient for everyday riding. But be warned the Guzzi,s are very addictive !! with a great sound track to go with it, the rasp on acceleration and the deep base boom on the overrun. you cant help but smile,. Looking forward to more of your videos on the guzzi. ps try to pronounce Ago-sti-ni as in the great Giacomo Agostini. Great honest vid cheers from the UK.

  • @AleksiJoensuu

Hey mate! Can I give you a free tip to get WAY better sound quality without almost any extra gear? All you need is a smartphone, a wool sock, and maybe a bum bag if you'd like.
When you're going to record, do this:
-Find your smartphone's audio recording app.
    -Start recording
-Drop the phone into a wool sock, and wrap the rest around
-Stick it in your pocket (use the one that is least in the wind, a bum pocket on your back would be ideal, or use a bum bag. Take care to use a pocket that is not in direct contact with the bike, as the vibrations will transfer easily)
-Turn on recording in your camera
-Clap hard and sharp twice so that you can see the claps on camera
    -Start bike, ride, record etc
-Once you get to your editing table, all you've got to do is sync the claps on your video and the audio from the phone, and then edit them out if ya want.
-Remember to mute the audio track from the camera
Boom! Much less wind noise, but all those sweet engine rumbles right in there! If you want your speech on video, just take it from the sound track of the camera when you need it.

I think the V85TT would be a little more versatile, but there is a Moto Guzzi Roamer for sale at the local dealer for about $8500 Cdn. They also have a 2018 Stelvio. Decisions, decisions... The one and only reason riders were looking forward to the launch of the V9 was to gain significantly more power and torque over the V7. But Guzzi disappoints again, How do they get so little power from almost a litre of displacement? Here’s some advice MG, put the V85 motor into the V9 bike.

When you were cruising with high RPMs, was that clatter the valves, or was it some thing else. I have owned 4 guzzis, That sound sounded like valve clatter, which is perfectly normal. Maybe it was the location of the microphone picking up mostly top end sound and exaggerating it ….
I know that sound can’t be camchain, and I hope it’s not piston rattle, which is possible because of the air cooled cylinders.. i’m old enough to remember the by- gone two-stroke days, and those air cooled Kawasaki triples loudest noise if you were not standing behind the machine, was piston rattle…
I am watching your video here in June 2023, because one of these machines has just come up for sale by private owner. I wanted to get some feedback.. i’m considering replacing my Kawasaki Z 400, with this Moto Guzzi as my non-fairing hot weather bike here in pittsburgh Pennsylvania, USA..

  • @tedmarakas2626
    @tedmarakas2626 2 роки тому +1

I HATE MOTO GUZZIs and Here's why
    A. you don't need an RPM gage. The engine noise will tell you when to shift
    B. Agostini without baffles is the best exhaust for the V9 PERIOD.
    C. It is called Moto Guzzi NOT Moto Gazi
    D. You can go fast around turns, the V9 is a bit stiff but it handles well.
    E. Horsepower doesn't mean much, it has plenty of torque and the bike has enough power for its frame and equipment.
    F. If a V9 doesn't give you a Man-gasm and ear-gasp at the same time, I strongly advise you seeing your health professional ASAP.
    G. It is NOT a cruiser. Don't expect comfort for long rides, It is perfect for short rides and it is great for city riding
    H. It has a HUGE line of high quality accessories, it can be modified extensively. Trust me I know.....I took a $10k Bobber and made it a $27k bobber.
    I. It is a great bike for the MSRP, very unique and excellent quality
    J. Servicing is inexpensive and very easy to do. Gone are the old days of electrical Gremlins and problems. New and modern Guzzis are very reliable and can go forever with proper maintenance.
    K. It is NOT the Italian Harley. Don't you dare referring to these beautiful bikes as Harleys. Crime against Humanity. NEVER
    L. This is the oldest European motorcycle company with continuous production. They have heritage,, prestige and exclusivity. Guzzis are NOT a "me, too" motorcycles.
    M. Women dig Guzzis. Everybody digs Guzzis. Anybody with a heartbeat and a pulse digs Guzzis.
    N. Guzzis are meant to be modified. The company encourages the owners to modify and personalize. Guzzis don't stay stock often.
    O. A Moto Guzzi isn't just a motorcycle. It is a way of life, an extension of the rider's personality and the enthusiast community is probably one of the best. It is a fashion statement, classy and beautiful just like an Italian work of art.

@@tpv59 No issues whatsoever. However, I had to adjust the valves a bit before than it was due, I could hear them getting louder and since it is such an easy job and inexpensive....why take any chances. I also do my oil changes at 2500 miles using Motul 10W60 fully synthetic like they recommend. I also replace the rear differential oil at every oil change, it is cheap and easy. I don't care what the service intervals are, Oil is cheap, I keep my bikes in top shape. I have about 6,000 Miles on mine but I've met a few guys with 15,000 miles and nobody has reported any problems or failures. They all said that the valves get a bit loud and most people agree that 5,000 miles is the best adjustment interval
The suspension is STIFF. Riding on smooth roads is fine but once you start riding over pot holes and cracked pavement....it is stiff and tiring. The rear suspension on the early 2017 all the way up to 2020 model years has a bit less travel than the Centenario. The early bikes have a bit of a better stance but the newer ones with more suspension travel at the back are better to ride, more comfortable. I'm 210lbs and 6.02" height, riding with a woman can get a bit cramped, not the kind of bike that you want to go on a long ride with one more person in the back. It is NOT a motorcycle to do high speed touring or being on the saddle for hundreds of miles every day. It is NOT a touring bike. It can do everything if you want it to but then again the bike that can do everything perfect hasn't been invented. This is why I have 6 motorcycles in the garage.
Moto Guzzi are corky, beautiful, reliable and you fall in love with them over time. Especially, the V9 bobber, it is a bike that you either love or hate. I personally absolutely love mine and will NEVER sell it. Others have complained about comfort and lack of high speed but this doesn't bother me. I come from a super bike lifestyle and it took me a couple of months to understand that you can still have an enjoyable ride without doing 300mph. In fact, I like going slow and enjoying the view rather than trying to stay alive on my 150Hp Aprilia Tuono. Email me at Theomarakas@gmail.com if you want more info or advise, especially if you decide to modify or customize your bike. I can tell you what fits or not, what works or what doesn't. I just picked up a 2021 V85TT brand new, still at the dealer waiting for me to pick it up. This will be my traveling bike. However, the V9 bobber is my favorite bike out of all 6 bikes in my garage. Cheers.

I got off track..Anyway..a lot of people in this world dont travel it..or take rides at 220+ mph on the interstate in a 890HP 427ci Y Block 1966 Ford GT40 MKII..OR even get to hear something like that ..Same for bikes...So people always freak out and no one pulls baffles out and leave their bikes sounding like sewing machines..They act like giving a straight piped bike agood red to red unbaffled pull from a stop and keep it wide open onto the freeway and just let it keep pulling until it simply will not pull anymore..Be it 160mph or 210mph..Keep in the fckn throttle!! be it a bike or car..Top that fuckn thing out!! let your balls hang man..let them fckn swing in the wind and enjoy a good 200mph run!! Youll find the more you do shit others are pussy and scared of..The less you fell the need to even share it..WHY? BECAUSE YOU FIND OUT THAT ITS TRULY NO BIG FUCKN DEAL!!! NOW..NEXT TIME YOU JUMP ON A LITER/LITRE + BIKE..DONT FEEL SATISFIED UNTIL YOU HAVE WOUND THAT FUCKN 14grand redline into the revlimiter in every gear that will pull it!!!! BE THEEE BAD ASS..NOT THE GUY YOU HEAR ABOUT BUT RATHER THE GUY EVERYONE TALKS ABOUT..NOT BECAUSE YOURE A JACK ASS BUT BECAUSE YOU ARE THE GUY WHO TRULY KNOWS HOW TO LOVE LIFE!! THIS SHIT IS WAY TO SHORT TO NOT REMIND YOURSELF YOU ARE BREATHING!! NOW..BESAFE BUT NOT A PUSSY..GO SMOKE SOME TIRES OFF,SMOKE SOME HASH OIL..GET SOME!!! HELL YEAH!!!

I really love Guzzies but they must be close to extinction surely, how long can they go without any real development!. I really hope they employ designers and engineers who know their stuff and then are allowed to follow it through to production.

They have been close to extinction since 1921. And yet here they are.

@sasholsuma I'm sure you'll enjoy it. The Yamaha will be an effective bike and you will love it, but....smiles per mile is what it is about and my own experience on Guzzis leads me to believe that , even though on paper they don't match up to this or that, they deliver far more smiles per mile. This is real reason we love bikes, this is the real reason that Guzzi owners have a reputation as fanatics: nothing else delivers quite as much.
