They are in the city Prague. One of the best sax solos ever.
So lovely!
The architecture is very telling❤
I got to visit Prague last year and literally walked and saw everything in the MV. Now when I watch this, I'm like 'IVE BEEN THERE, IVE BEEN THERE, IVE BEEN THERE' 😅
no its not, this was in the city of Mexico
@@tamaravanhees1749Prague has been on my bucket list ever since I saw this video!
Being an Aussie myself it made me smile to see that you found this song, INXS and Michael Hutchence the singer all in one. Nice reaction I Maddy I had to especially grin when you saw and heard Kirk Pengilly (multi instrumentalist) come in with the sax solo. As others have said the album that this song came from Kick(1987) is brilliant.
🤗🤍
Has to be the most perfect ballad of all time. The video suits it perfectly, filmed in Prague!
INXS, brilliant band with 20+ years of hits and always sound better LIVE!!! Nice reaction.
Super cool
I love your reaction, I find it amazing to see the younger generations sharing reactions and just discovering the amazing charisma and sound of INXS. I remember watching all their videos over and over when MTV was born. So many great memories of the 80s with this song. They have more great ones, please share more reaction clips with us. This was great!!
Forty years later, and I'm still watching young ladies fall in love with Michael Hutchence at first sight...some things never change.
Noticed the same thing, as soon as they see Michael they are conquered. This music is part of the soundtrack of my teen years, loved this tune. Males and females were together everywhere listening to music like this in the 80's. I really do miss those times. Class of 1985.
In other words, some things "Don't Change."
@@omicron2018 I see what you did there. lol. Excellent.
Filmed in Prague (Praha) although the band is Australian
Wow!!
Is it sad that I was in high school when this came out???😳😳😳 I absolutely LOVED INXS growing up and had their “cassette tape”. Thanks Maddy for the trip down memory lane😊
Hehe! Not at all!! I really enjoyed this one!! Really great scenery, also.
I remember when this video came out on MTV! By that time, MTV was 1/2 great music and 1/2 horrendous music. This one blew them all away. I moved back home and I'd watch MTV with my brother and we both absolutely loved this video/song. Great memories and an excellent song. The sax solo just made the song an instant classic!!!!
NEVER TEAR US APART
Don't ask me
What you know is true
Don't have to tell you
I love your precious heart
I
I was standing
You were there
Two worlds collided
And they could never tear us apart
We could live
For a thousand years
But if I hurt you
I'd make wine from your tears
I told you
That we could fly
'Cause we all have wings
But some of us don't know why
I was standing
You were there
Two worlds collided
And they could never, ever tear us apart
I (Don't ask me)
I was standing (You know it's true)
Mm, you were there (Worlds collided)
Two worlds collided (We're shining through)
And they could never tear us apart
You (Don't ask me)
You were standing (You know it's true)
I was there (Worlds collided)
Two worlds collided (We're shining through)
And they could never tear us apart
I-I-I
I was standing
You were there
Ooh!
I loved this song when it came out, and yes, it was on MTV. I never owned the album, but my drum major in our high school band, Shawanda, often raved about it. Great music and great times!
This is our beloved INXS! Awesome Aussie band. This was filmed in Prague I believe in the early 80’s. Frontman Michael passed away in 1997, extremely sad. He had a state funeral, I remember watching it at work 😢
Micheal Hutchence the lead singer had a tragic story. He got attacked on the street, fell and hit his head. Lost all sense of smell and taste, it change his personality, that and some other circumstances lead him to taking his own life.
Wow so sad
The band name is pronounced "In Excess". Such a huge band at the time. This is definitely on the slower side of their discography.
Also, such an iconic voice and a great sassy/blues kind of feel to this song. Such a loss to music right at the peak of his powers. RIP Michael Hutchence.
Very cool
no, stupid, its pronounced INKS
Their concert at Wembley is the one concert of all time I wish i could go back for. Easily one of, if not the biggest band of the 80s and early 90s. It’d be worth doing a reaction to that concert from start to finish.
I bet it would have been awes
Awesome!
@MaddyReactions the concert was called summer xs. 72,000 people bouncing together to a truly unforgettable gig. They recorded the whole gig for vhs release, which you can now get digitally. It was called live baby live. Lifted from a line in their son new sensation. The line was "live baby live" as in I live in England. But the concert was "live baby live" as in live performance.
Yes Please, you need to react to them in their Wembley presentation. I would recommend "What you need" That performance is incredible!@@MaddyReactions
This video (as was said below) was shot in Prague.
I would recommend checking out one of their live videos, pretty much anything from the Wembley concert in 1991 but I'd start with "New Sensation"
Wow!
Hell yea! I love INXS. New Wave is one of my favorite genres. You should try reacting to some more New Wave in the future. Maybe Human League, New Order or Duran Duran. And like others have mentioned this video was filmed in Prague. Apparently, the city still looks very much the same as it did in this video. I’d love to visit there someday🤘🏼
Ooh 🤗
Another banger of a song. A brilliant band who sold out stadiums in their heyday they were that good. R.I.P Michael, such a talent ❤😢.
The whole album is killer. Titled Kick
Agreed
yes, the whole album is so good.
Filmed in Prague, the Czech Republic Capital, beautiful, Great song nice review RIP Michael Hutchence.
So awesome
They were a powerhouse of hits in the later 80's. The album Kick was tremendous.
Maybe their best song! ♥ My fave song of theirs is Don't Change. I'd heavily suggest that
Ooh
The team that I support in the Australian Football League, Port Adelaide (nick named Port Power) have adopted this song as the pre game anthem. It is spine tingling when sung by a 40,000+ crowd at home games (there are videos of these events here on UA-cam). A few years ago, two of the INXS members were invited to a game and they were visibly moved by the crowd's performance of their gem. Sadly, of course, the song was also played at Michael Hutchence's funeral. PS I bought the album "Kick", which includes this song, the week that it was released in 1987. Unfortunately that cassette died long ago but I have their best of collection on CD and it gets regular use because of their many great songs.
Ooh! Awesome!!
F ing Port Adelaide ruined this song for 99% of Aussies .
@@adamparker9765 A very strange comment. It seems that you have some issues. So, 1/ What is your definition of "Aussie"? All those who currently live in the country or just legal citizens? (I have lived in Australia for 61 years and I am a supporter of PAFC for 60 years, a fan of INXS since their inception but I am not an "Aussie".) 2/How do you know the song is ruined for anybody other than yourself, let alone 99% of Aussies (whatever the definition that is applied)? 3/ How do you come to a figure of 99%? 4/ How can you be sure that all Australians have even heard the song? Many are children too young to be aware of the song, even if it is played to them and there are many people who have either no interest in music or very specific musical tastes. 5/ How did you become a national spokesperson? The answer of course, is that you have framed your personal opinion, as too many do on various media platforms, into a generalized, exaggerated diatribe. In short, you don't have a clue beyond your own personal displeasure. By all means express your personal opinion but frame it as that, not claiming knowledge and privileges that you don't possess, then producing such ridiculous, hyperbolic crap.
@@JohnHF1957 Everyone who used to love the song that isnt a Port fan.
@@adamparker9765 Again, generalized crap. You can't speak for anyone but yourself. You don't know how many people have a strong connection to the song and you don't know how many may have changed their minds. Stop the self- important BS and learn what reality actually is. PS Also time to learn what an apostrophe is and to show some self respect by using capital letters for your name.
This is Prague/Praha, CZ...near the Charles Bridge, Steps near Petrin going to Prague Castle, Jewish Cemetery, along the Vltava, Astronomical Clock. Beautiful city. Also love INXS. Saw their Listen Like Thieves tour.
Hutch had one of the those naturally great voices where it sounded like it was effortless for him.
Such a great singer, and one of the most charismatic frontmen of all time.
Definitely
Love this song one of my favorites by them..awesome. love your reaction ♥️
Thanks ☺️
Farriss Brothers, Kirk Pengilly on the Sax and Hutchence voice ...perfect.
🤍
The Charles Bridge in Prague is so beautiful. I cried when I walked in to the main square.
This is one of the best ballads of the 1980s, in my opinion, and a personal favorite of mine.
INXS is one of those great bands that hasn't resurfaced like it should have. They have a very distinctive sound, generally dance-able, and just great party music.
Czechia (Known as Czech Republic in Eastern Europe) in the city of Prague…a beautiful and calm city. INXS were great for the 80’s generation (80’s and 90’s).
Wow! It looks beautiful there!
Michael Hutchence was the sexiest and greatest vocalist front man the world has ever seen.
Check out the live at Wembley stadium video on you tube from 1991. One of the largest concerts ever.
Incredible.
INXS Aussie legends.
🤗
Awesome band. Their greatest hits CD definitely one of my favorites to listen to. Maddy is a romantic 🤣😍🔥
Haha 😆
Prague.....while still under the control of The USSR. Thankfully, not for much longer after this video. Love this song.
Aww
Prague. Lead singer Michael Hutchence was a poet and wrote most of the lyrics and melodies. Besy frontman ever amd a great singer.
My favourite band, thankfully I got to see them twice in the UK. Please review more: Don’t Change, Shine Like It Does, New Sensation, The Stairs, Disappear….. so many more
🎼💯💯☠️💯💯🎼 .. hot one Maddy. This is back when the music video mattered. Sax special in this song .. if you read about the band you will see that this exceptionally talented singer ended his life way too early. Another sad sad sad sad story in Rock n Roll history. 🎼🎼🎼🖤🎼🎼🎼
Definitely
😍
The video was recorded in Prague
I passed a year in Tulsa 1988-89 doing my junior year and this video was played all year long in MTV, great memories 🤙
A pitty, the singer´s death 😪
REALLY brings me back to my High School years.
Oh!
I Love "By my Side" .
Awesome
The graveyard is the old Jewish Cemetery in Prague, the Czech Republic. A remarkable historical Cemetary which served its purpose from the first half of the 15th century until 1786. Prague is a haven of exceptional centuries old monuments and buildings. In many ways, it is a wonderland which should be included in any person's journey x
Aging myself here. This was my Senior Prom theme. Loved them for their sadly shortened time they played because they were all that and then some.
Aww
Plenty of good music from them if you want to dig deeper
i saw them live in 1992 when they headlined a music festival in Ireland... bloody savage - always loved the album 😎🤘
Respect & Peace ☘
Hey Maddie! Such a great song. Thank you for reacting to it!🎉
Video shot in Prague. They also recorded Guns in the Sky video in Prague at the same time. It was not released as a single but it is interesting that they did a video for it for sh#+$ and giggles
what i find most interesting about watching your videos is that most of the stuff your watching for the first time is stuff that i suddenly realize i was listening to 30 or 40 years ago and think is old dead news . and i never thought of seeing someone experience it for the first time .. but the big part for me.. is because i know the song i know what coming at you and i watch your expressions and your eyes and try to imagine what's going on in your head and generally from your comments i feel i'm fairly close.. and for me it's kind of that feeling an old person get when they see children playing and enjoying the wonder of life
I always drop by to listen in. However, I really come to see Maddy!! she is gorgeous .. hahaha
💖💖💖💖
Love your channel, Maddy!
✌✌ and 💕💕 to you!
Many Kudos!
Don’t Change was the INXS concert closer for many many years. Watch the video for Don’t Change you won’t regret it 🤞🏻
inxs original sin live from Wembley is an epic live performance by them they were awesome live
Communist Prague, although it really hasn’t changed visually since the breakdown of the Soviet Union and the establishment of the Czech Republic. The video features the famous Charles Bridge.
Oh wow!
Also, Old Town Square , the entrance to the castle and Jewish Cemetery
Australian 🇦🇺 band..l knew the lead singer michael huchence l had a few drinks with him in the band room in the early 80s our band done suports to inxs ..underneath the colors tour Australia..l was lighting technician for the suport band..R.I.P mate
Gotta check them out singing live at wembley in 1991 which is redone in 4K. I would react to INXS “original sin” at this concert
Oooh! Bet it’s awesome
As they say, ''there's nothing like great sax in the graveyard! 👻🎷⚰🪦
I've always likened this video to a James Bond theme song.
Moody and mysterious city, handsome young man, beautiful young woman. They must be spies, right?
Easily one of my favorite bands of all time, thank you for sharing.
Oh! I could see that!
Where better to celebrate life than in a grave yard... It gives you a +100% buff to any life celebrations. 200% life is a wonderful thing!
This was shot in the Czech Republic. In the Capital, Prague.
So cool
My class song!
Hi maddy my son is in LA he arived sunday 21st . He arrived before the heavy rain from the cyclone...we are from Melbourne Australia after flight delay. He had 2 sundays and 3 breafasts ..hes working in LA then hes going to the US open tennis.. 🇦🇺 l was a sound engineer for aussie bands 1980 to1995 l done the lighting for the suport band on the Australian tour
with joan jett from 🇺🇸
Prague and the excellent use of the Jimi Jib! Used to shoot with that for years.
Beautiful
Ive always loved Never Tear Us Apart, but now that ive actually been to Prague I seen the MV differently as im telling myself 'Michael was here' 😅
INXS is an Australian band but unfortunately the singer Michael Hutchense was found dead choked by a rope under mysterious circumstances. Some believe he killed himself and others say he died having sex. Inxs is famous all over the world but very underrated in America. They have hit after hit after hit. I really suggest you listen to Don’t change, Beatiful Girl, New Sensation, Suicide Blonde, Need you tonight, Devil inside, Mystify and the one thing to name a few.
Grazie Maddy
🤍
I'm a member of the Port Adelaide Football Club in Australia. At the start of each match we sing this at the top of of our lungs in the grandstand.
So cool!!
Omg I’m in love
Beautiful ❤❤❤
🤍🤍🤍
R.I.P.
I recently subscribed and absolutely lover her music reactions!
🤍🤍🤍
They owned the 80’s
I always said they definitely saved the 80's.......
I liked how you analyzed the lyrics.
Great Australian Band the video was filmed in Prague which is the capital of the Czech Republic..
This album kick is one of the top 5 albums of the 80’s in my opinion.
Australian legendary band 🇦🇺🦘
Oof, this really took me back. My high school girlfriend, this was our song. We went together to see INXS in '88. Remember y'all: don't take your girl to see shirtless Hutchence...
The city where the video clip was shot is Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic.😀
I want to visit!
The Czech republic
Prague, Czechoslovakia.
Wow!! Absolutely beautiful!!
Exactly....a beautiful melancholy place that sets the mood for the video perfectly! @@MaddyReactions
This was filmed in Prague, Czechoslovakia. P.S. You are most beautiful. "Hedlok"
🩷
Sax is such a cool instrument. Never been able to produce a sound when trying to blow in one haha 😂
😂
Did anyone mention you like a beautiful young Mariah Carey !
Great Aussie band ! Who sold out Wembley stadium in 1991 🤙🏼still one of the best live performances ever …..of all time . INXS at their peak
Thanks!
❤❤
RIP Michael 🇦🇺
Best band ever!
So good!
Filmed by the Charles Bridge in Prague, Czech Republic.
Some day we should talk seriously about the part Michael almost lost the eye😂 3:38
Looks like Prague to me.
you seem to be open to listening to any type of music! i love that! and by the way he was a man with incredible chrisma! gone way too soon!
So unfortunate
Such a great Aussie band
Agreed
Haven't seen the first INXS reaction video for The Devil Inside lol.
🙏❤🌹 Michael 🌹❤🙏
I hope your someone special holds you close and dances with you tonight to this
80s had a number of bands that were still pretty experimental and unconventional. Like the use of saxophone.
(David Bowie is another great for really doing different things, musically, over his career)
Ooh
I had to subscribe straight away! Your reactions are brilliant!
I would just like to mention that the volume is not the same thru. The music is slightly lower then your beautiful voice. (Siri needs to find something else to do!)
🤍🤍🤍
Your welcome!
( lyrics title line ) It vaguely reminds me of Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart"
Ooh
@@MaddyReactions that’s a song you definitely have to check out.
This video was filmed in Prague, Chechoslovakia .
Very cool!
I remember....
Australian legend
Definitely
Charles bridge guy walking backwards been their 5 times great place
watch the documentary on inxs, really good, not gonna spoil it
Oldest clock in the world Prague you have to visit🎉
Last of the great front men, Michael Hutchence.
Aussie gold
