I am glad they tinkered with Rytlock's voice - the deeper, more gravelly/growly voice he has now just fits better for a grumpy/angry Blood Legion Tribune.
I feel really lucky right now. I had never heard of this game before yesterday, and I'm super glad, cause I would have gone insane waiting for it for that long!!!
Lol I've never been in to MMOs, so I always passed up any mention of them. But this one fixes 90% of my problems with MMOs!!! I'm excited :) And yes, I know I probably should have checked out Guild Wars 1, but I didn't have any money before this summer, nor a decent computer. Now I have both.
Ahh. I remember that trailer. I stopped playing GW2 not too long after releaase but I was very excited about every bit of news coming out. Most people who play GW2 nowadays probably weren't there when they were releasing these bits of information. People were really busy with analysing these trailers and speculating. What is that jumping character 1:32? Could that be a new Assassin class? Now we obviously know it's a Thief, but no one knew. Would it be playable by players? No one knew.
Just watched the “Giving a Voice to Tyria” video again and was like “they had to have been using that audio for a trailer, right?” Lo and behold, here it is. Now I can get the rest of the lines!
These were the alpha sylvari designs and they were scrapped before beta. After beta, they got refined again into what you see today. These early models did not glow like the current ones do.
IMO Asuras, Humans, Sylvaris and Norns look all quite the same when dressed in armors and all a bit boring, nothing what makes them really special or different from the rest, ok, Norns are huge and Asuras are small, that`s all, but that`s why I like Charrs, they look and behave completely different even in armors, for me Charrs are always winners when it comes to fashion-wars, and real Charr fans in-game are all a bit different from the rest, not that bad either - why can`t I create a Centaur, Tengu, Oger or Ettin for instance ?
Caithe's model was that of the old design from the time of cut content and redesign like Rata Sum, It's a shame I really prefer the previous version of Sylvari even if it lacks the plant like look, its more beautiful and elegant kind of like wood elves. Has the mechanics to be the best mmo ever, however it turned into the most painstackingly boring game ive ever played. If mashing 5 buttons in quests that are simpler than games like rift and wow sound appealing to you, then go play.
This trailer got released 9 years ago and it still gives me goosebumps to this day. I love it. ;-;
