I'm fluent in Japanese and I just want to point out that interpreter is absolutely next level. This is a level of thoroughness and accuracy I expect at the UN.
Yea she totally kills it, class SSS interpreter. Adds a bit of her own personailty but I think she does a good job in giving a flair to the words to make them more enjoyable.
To be honnest my japanese is decent but I know I would probably never be able to interpreted, I wanted to do that few years ago but I figured out it would probably be too hard and seeing how perfectly she did it gave me chill and really make me want to study hard! She really sound like a native and if I had to guess I'll say she was maybe bor in us or english country and then when later in japan and learn the language.
The fact that Yoshi-P opened up by asking how Asmon's mom is doing is just such a massive contrast from the approach Blizzard has taken with him and other streamers and it really makes me happy to have switched.
Seems to be standard in the east to open with discussion about the health and wellbeing of family member and other informal discussion. Used to be similar in the west but maybe not as much and it definitely isn't as standard anymore. We're starved for empathy out here now lol
@@psivampire13 You can see her watch her notes often, so the answer is yes. And frankly she has to, not as a crutch or anything, but due to the way both languages work, since Japanese is literally 'in reverse' compared to English, as a translator you have to write stuff down cause it's being told 'out of order', so to speak, so you can put it back in 'English order' afterwards. She's doing all that on the fly with close to no lag. A true hero.
I'm so glad people have broken whatever spell they were under for Blizzard. They've always been shitty people man. Takes an example of a real, kind, humble human being to show people how they've been treated.
@@user-xk6fs7em4l People who stick to 1 game for so long are doing it because they have a community or friends that play. The game satisfies a social need that they are unable to satisfy in real life. Others, such as me, play on-and-off and we don't pay attention to Twitter drama because Twitter is trash.
I'm so glad Asmon started playing FFXIV 'cause thanks to him, loads of people are discovering just how unbelievably amazing this game and its developers are. Well deserved interview my dude!
100% agree I started a couple days after asmon first streamed FF, and i never watched a single video from asmon before. But because of the attention he brought to FF, ive been playing 3 months now, and have recruited my 3 brothers and a couple mates to play together. Most of them have never played an mmo before - thats how good this game is
Mad respect for Aimi the translator here, she is an absolute master at getting the full message across, including facial expressions and tone of voice.
Even though she sometimes still slips up on harder skill names, I like to believe that she is part of the dev team, gets put in the credits of the game and is even a player with us.
Asmon dedicates his life to WoW: Devs call him an asshole, and talk shit about him. Asmon plays FF14 for a couple months: Devs invite him to a Q&A, and has a genuine discussion despite speaking different languages. Amazing.
@@foxdavion6865 not quite. Blizzard used to be one of those great companies, but the arrogance of a few pushed out all the passionate devs. Bungie was like this too, and that's how 343 got started. But the best games that have come out in the last 5 years were from indie devs mostly. That's where the good devs went
He's SO humble..... This dude is a legend. He's the big fish, and he almost apologizes for "taking their time", and then goes on to ask about Asmon's mom. Wow.
Thats because Japan isnt a shithole like most of the modern west and still have "old school" values. Respect and image dont mean anything in the west anymore while in Japan both are still extremely important.
@@WZRDr maybe but asian strict culture is much better than loose chaotic western culture and im Finnish im western. The fact that the ff14 devs actively watch streamers, made me wonder if Yoshi would give his genuine concern for the stuff happening to asmon since I know he would have seen it and that he did, yoshi is beloved for a reason he sees his fans as friends and family
I still prefer wow and don’t plan on playing ffxiv but I still really respect yoshi for being so involved with the community and being humble. Nice guy for showing empathy for Asmons situation
I sincerely hope that Aimi is very well compensated as her translation skills are absolutely AMAZING!!! Seeing people like her is what makes me happy to human :)
@@jaredkinneyjr She's an official part of the XIV team. Her name is even in the game credits. So safe to say they acknowledge her contributions and take care of her.
Holy crap she’s so good at translating. Not only did she have such good short term memory but using idioms and sayings from both languages so easily and interchangeably is fluency even a native speaker struggles to reach in their own language let alone two separate ones
@@wobblysauce The impressive part was translating idioms as stated before. Writing things down in one language as it’s said usually doesn’t make sense in another language due to the fact that literal translations for idioms don’t work. In one language saying “Your head is in the clouds” makes sense, it’s basically saying you’re distracted. However translated to another language it would sound like “Staircase to the sky” which doesn’t make sense. She’s translating the idioms that don’t sync up between English and Japanese.
I know right !? she has such a firm grasp on idioms and metaphors of Both languages it's impossible to tell which her native language is. Also she never lost the Timing and Delivery of the 'Punchline' of each statement. Japanese translated into English is a lot like Yoda's English so the setup for a punchline is back to front. The interpreter has to have a Huge vocabulary and not get the wires mixed like a lot of bilingual people tend to get. As a Halfie; native in both who's gone and taught English in Japan and is now teaching HSC Japanese back in Australia, occasionally doing medical Interpretation at my local hospital... I can wholeheartedly say that this interpreter is on another level. You don't get interpreters like this often, she's one in ten million.

(I'm using a translator. Sorry.) I'm Japanese, and I've been watching your delivery a lot, so I really enjoyed this interview. "Caring" is a fundamental part of Japanese culture, but not many people, even those in great positions, can do it, so I respect Yoshi P. Actually, two of Yoshi P's friends were diagnosed with cancer at the same time. As you know, one of them went into remission over time and returned to work, but the other one passed away. (He was a heavy FF14 player, and his success made many Japanese people aware of FF14. His FF14 blog was made into a drama and a movie in Japan. Both he and Yoshi P liked Gundam, so some players think that Sage's funnel was made as a gift for him :). With that in mind, I think YoshiP's concern for Asmon's mother is genuine.
Hey friend .... I wonder if it is gonna be readable for you but I want to say that I am truly sorry to hear about his other friend. Yoshi-P San, Sakaguchi San and Uematsu San and so many other developers of FF series are my heroes and I will keep respecting them for all the purity they have put in the FF series. Much love to you and your beautiful culture.
Imagine dedicating over a decade to playing and promoting WoW only to have their developers publicly call you an asshole. On the other hand, play FFXIV for 3 months and having the producer/Director pleased to meet you and hopes your mum is doing well.
Tbf he is an asshole per his own words(asmon), but when it comes to WoW I can agree with him, I grew up with Warcraft and it lore and seeing them butcher the game more and more just makes me despise everything about it. Obviously when Asmon is vocal about it a lot of people listen and the devs get their pants in a twist.
I mean, not to say that Yoshi-p is an asshole, but basic interview skill, its imperative to actually read about who will be doing the interview and their expectation and the like. Thats just manners.
Yoshi P. and team are just incredibly nice people to everyone. During Hurricane Maria, the people of Puerto Rico (Myself included) lost power for several months due to the devastation. Thus Yoshi P. and SE froze our accounts so people's sub weren't auto renewing and our in game houses didn't get demolished due to inactivity. During the pandemic he he slow down all hard promos of the game and decided to rerun old events so people had more to do while at home. Furthermore he was constantly publishing personal letters of encouragement and appreciation. If you play on the japanese servers you can play with the guy and he treats you just like another friend or family member. Is quite amazing how much he cares, so I guess in truth caring is the best PR stun.
I’m also from Puerto Rico, it was tough during Maria. I wasn’t playing at that time though I was taking a break at that moment but that’s cool as fuck man.
The fact that Yoshi-P gets so much credit for wishing Asmon’s mother well and congratulating Rich on his achievements, which any other time should just be expected human decency, shows how disconnected game developers in general have gotten from there communities and how much of a difference this guy is making just by being open and honest with his players.
True, he actually somehow paid attention enough (or someone told him about it) so it shows an attention to the community rather than just being "all business" and not caring who is interviewing you.
It's sad how when gaming companies get bigger, it's like they feel more inclined to distance themselves, like putting themselves on a pedestal and can't communicate with players normally cause now it's more a business and they're customers. I don't think it's done purposely in a malevolent way, I just think generally anyone at a large company or higher up at a big company gradually becomes more formal than informal by nature, and that they can't show more of their normal self to their audience lest they get judged for small details in their behavior or afraid to do something wrong by opening up. You see it a lot, not just in gaming companies or even big businesses. People end up taking their profession way too seriously and kinda disconnect their humane side when they go about it, atleast when communicating with people that make use of their business.
Can we talk about how one of the first things Yoshi-P said was "I'm sorry your mom is sick, that must be difficult". What a legend! Just a man full of humanity.
Ye I fully expected Yoshi P would ask Asmong about his mum, and I was not disappointed. In Asia people in business often learn from the book “How to win friends and influence people”. The idea is to understand how other people feel and perceive and use that knowledge to make them satisfied in interacting with you. It may sound like an insidious calculative thing, but the philosophy goes both way, by establishing a good human interaction, you yourself become fulfilled mentally. You can see this in the development mentality of FF14, they embrace a lot of the fan’s feed back of the game, and addressing those feed back, be it quality of life or a La Hee musical by Soken, helps anchoring unwavering support from the player base.
Lots of experience, she's been the interpreter since the beginning and you can see how she has been improving though the years, not that she was bad at the beginning mind you but she has become this amazing via her own hard work
@@Fordicus Interpreters develop their own shorthand system given time, when she's listening she looks off camera to note down whatever they're saying, but not in English or Japanese, but in her own self developed shorthand that's unique to every interpreter. Wow. Never played FF14, but in the first minute alone this man sold me. What a genuine human being. Anyone who has watched Asmon for any amount of time knows how close he is with his mother, and Yoshi immediately takes the first opportunity to offer his condolences for his mothers health.
Yoshi is a guy you'll find in the crowds screaming and enjoying the fan fest concert of their own band. Some people myself included met him at Gamescom and casually talked to him, too. He is a genuine human.

@@photogus It's sadly still an addiction, as Human beings we easily get addicted to allsorts of things and some of those things ultimately destroy us, showing sympathy and emotion for others is what makes us better people.
@@photogus yeah so it’s a tough spot to be in. Like on one hand you feel bad for Asmon because even if you (and he admits it in his worst day of my life video) and he disagree with her decisions regarding her health…it’s still his mother. You can tell how much his Mom means to him just about how he talks about her. Guy will drop and close his stream of 30-40,000 people instantly when he’s worried about her, or run down there if she needs something….when you look at other streamers who won’t leave to even get their own food right? So it’s more feeling empathy in knowing how much Asmons mom means to him, and how hard it probably is for him. He knows that this would be easier on everyone if she focused on taking care of herself more….which makes it harder because he knows she won’t do that. This is not me trying to be a Psychologist Andy, just observations. I have disagreed with my mom about a lot of things in my life, even gone 1-2 year periods of not talking to her…even despite all that I would be an absolute wreck if anything happened to her. @@Tory-JJ I know, I'm not discounting the dev team or saying they aren't as important or incredible. I'm just pointing out that yoshi p is consistently an incredible person, even under public scrutiny, doing things like showing interest in the players personal lives and actually giving a shit, or listening to them(the thing that comes to mind Here is the quote that he may have Cribbed from asmon saying "do devs even play their games" since he says that a ton on stream)
Aimi is wonderful here, she even mirrors euphemisms, tonality and expression of how the message was intended. This is a very difficult thing to do well, awesome job for everyone involved, this was great.
She has a level I aspire to. Currently N4-N3 and struggling to keep it up. Sometimes I even doubt I'm still interested in the language but I keep trying to learn more of it.
I have so much appreciation for the interpreter lady. I'm graduating from university in next spring as a Japanese interpreter, and she was really impressive, especially how she asked about Origin and Ultima Online issue without panicking, and set herself on the path back again. It was almost like I'm experiencing an interpreting action at an internship program. I know she won't read this message, but thank you for the wonderful experience.
Best of luck in your future career! Interpreters are so important for allowing people from different cultures to converse and to build understanding and friendships!
She was truly incredible to watch. She was so attentive and wanted to make sure she conveyed not only the words but the tone and emotions as well. Best I've ever seen
She actually started as a gamer and cosplayer who kinda fell into her dream job working with developers she admires. She still actively does cosplay and plays the games so she puts a lot of passion into her job. Quite cool they got her on the FFXIV team, she's been with SE a long time and is one of their main interpreters so she was quite busy before she more or less became Yoshi P's personal translator for events and interviews. She's clearly lived in both Japan and English speaking countries so has a deep knowledge of slang and cultural terms. It's not an easy thing to convey these quirks between Japanese and English. Some people are just very gifted in conveying language without a huge formal education in it, some of us need to learn these skills lol. She's just a natural who has been doing it a long time.
Everyone else is saying it, but I'll say it too: What a great guy for taking an interest in the lives of people who play his games. It doesn't seem fake or phony. He doesn't seem like he has any kind of a superiority complex. He simply seems like he's a guy talking to someone else that's just like him, and he gets that. I am new to FFXIV. I haven't watched a lot of Yoshi, but I know he does these interviews with creators a lot and that's cool to see.
It’s because he’s a gamer first. He understands that the most important part of a game that gamers need to feel is that it’s fun. Honestly, all game developers need a Yoshi P in their company as a producer.
If you want to really get to the heart of Yoshi P you should go back and watch the launch interview from ARR. It was the first time that I know of where he cried on stage while thanking the players. It was in a really raw way since he wasn't as polished as he is now. The same energy and concern for the players has been there the entire time even as he has become more experienced and polished over time.
The fact that this man agreed to do this and actually answered the questions at the interviews just shows why FFXIV is such a better game than most, both customer support wise and everything else. They connect with their fans, even fans on the other side of the world who speak an entire different language than them. These are the types of devs us as a gaming community NEED more of, and I mean NEED.
Honestly I couldnt tell you how good the customer service team for FFXIV is... The game is so well done that i have never once had to think about contacting them.
@Jay Bee This. They also invite quite a lot of small streamers to have a part in media tour. It's really a good move Btw, it is said that Yoshi was interviewed for about 30 fuckin interviews in just one day
the true best thing about Yoshi-P is that he actually listen and noted the feedback in interview to bring it back to the dev team, I can't remember how many QoL and minor changes happened just a few weeks later thanks to interviews, even niche things like housing guest book were actually originated from an interview
This... This really puts in perspective how incredibly short-sighted Blizzard is, to the point of being absolutely blind. While they only looked down on Asmon considering the worst of the worst from WoW's community just because they can't take honest criticism about their terribly flawed game and practices, there is this man right here acting like an actual decent human being, taking his time to personally talk to his community and even showing concern for Asmongold's mother's health. It is simply amazing.
If you don't have a leader with a passion for a product, it'll lose its soul and become a cow to be milked. Steve Jobs pointed out that after founders leave, direction is likely to become dominated by Sales and money people. Unfortunately sales people are incentivized by short term rewards. They'd never opt out of a cash shop simply because it violated some ethical standard.

Now Activision Satan-lords pressure Blizzard to pump out content, make quick-cash every expansion and just survive the decline of mmos. Passion for games and the spirit is there, but we're suffocated and fucked by Fucktivision
YoshiP showed Zach better communication, empathy, and passion in a single hour despite a language barrier than all of Blizzard has done in the past 10 years or more.
Remember when Asmon was starting to play FF, and a toxic ff player tweeted about organizing a trolling campaign against him, and a Blizz dev tweeted that Asmon was an asshole? Compare that to the response from Square, and that tells you all you need to know.
If Asmon didn't have respect for Yoshi-P yet, he certainly does now. Wishes him and his mother well during the rough time they are having almost IMMEDIATELY into the interview. The difference is night and day, dude. It's not even a WoW vs FFXIV thing. Asmongold has been playing WoW for ages and the devs call him an asshole in plain view. Her translation is not only conveying his message accurately (I can understand most of what Yoshi-P says), but she also does it in a way that is familiar and colloquial, something a computer wouldn't be able to.
She was taking notes (as all interpreters do), so it was a bit easier than just remembering it all, but that in no way takes away from her masterfulness and professionalism. She also related all the emotions very well too, which can be very difficult when interpreting. Overall an amazing job.

I think the emotional connection the player develops with the FF14 story and characters must be the result of Yoshi P's emotional connection with himself, his team and us the players. It speaks volumes that Yoshi P wanted to start with an emotional connection with Zack.

If I had a chance to meet Yoshi-P or a movie star it would be Naoki Yoshida hands down. I am 60+ years old player of FFXIV and totally caught up in this game. I love the different ability content and the story captured me. There always seem to be another goal to reach for. One of the biggest thing I love about playing is the way it is handled/made so that it creates a community where the majority players are there to play and enjoy rather than grief other players. I hope they keep doing what they do. Thank you, to them all. 🤗💗
Loved your story, I hope you keep playing for years to come, and wish your daughter all the best with her MS. I only just started playing a couple months ago, and I am in love with this game too. I have been playing since the very first FF, and I love all the callbacks and easter eggs in this game. Simply phenomenal!

Is that why the game is outdated, lack any community or PVP updates and lacks innovations? I think they sleep on the shoulders of the work of previous generations like most MMORPG MOBA studios. from playstation 1 2 era. like FF x-2. the game lack social and PVP updates. doesn't have chat bubbles (you only look at chat box whole day which sux), no smaller nameplates aka text font size option, voice chat, good 4v4 Arena style map like Heavens Arena from the King's Avatar animation, no frontline popout sound notification, outdated combat and subscription model, convoluted login/register system (cant even use afna at launcher reset password confirm email box), no blue mage in PVP, lack of innovations such combining already good PvE elements with PVP such as open-world raid bosses where players and guild fight to contest said bosses? compete for the boss. they could drop epic mounts o exp/gear tokens which could be a great alternative to story leveling. new players cannot share their content on ffxiv reddit... the comments are disabled in their youtube update videos... watch the Kings Avatar so u can learn how to actually make complete game doesn't change the fac the game has 500 ms animation lock + 2.5s global cd tab targeting combat. 20 years behind. they thought they will fix the combat by adding crazy animations, but that also just cluttered the game. mybe they could lower global cd to 2 second but anything lower hard because crazy animations. but the core problem si still there. tab targeting combat. not even hybrid action combat with skillshots and dodges. elt alone true action combat like Smite, Vindictus r the Kings Avatar animation. WoW TBC, for example, ahs bunch of instant casts too but only 1 second global cd. also wow tbc has chat bubbles and voice chat... ffxiv only has emotes and chat box. and it sux watching into chat bo whole day that get spammed. it is not socially itneractive. or actually good 4v4 map like heavens Arena from the Kings Avatar or open-world raid bosses where players and guild could fight to contest them....or ability to tame open world monsters as your mount....innovate....more PVP events/rewards/mounts, combine PvE and PVP elements... and ffxiv community often mix competitive spirit and rivallry with toxicity
You know he logs in and plays sometimes, right? Yoshi saved ffxiv, and he wants to keep it in good shape. He's been spotted on JP servers, but he tends to disappear if a crowd gathers.
I can't stop laughing at how Asmon was about to fall out of the back of his chair when Yoshida said, "it makes you wonder if these devs even play their game". Lmao
I believe she also do more works on other Final Fantasy project these past years. I remember watching her on FFVII Remake E3 conference too and some of their other presentations.
It's so funny as well when Yoshi or another dev forget to give her a reasonable break point, and just keep talking and talking. There's been so many times that's happened at fan fests and such over the years, but she just handles it like a champ.
@@luxoriaa I can imagine she also get's summoned for the really important business meetings the CEO's have with other (non japanese) companies, etc...So translating something more casual like this is a probably piece of cake for her.
See Blizz? This, a simple "we wish you well" is all it fucking takes to have the whole MMO community think better of you. Man, I'm already sold and playing FFXIV, but even if I wasn't, I'd just go and buy the game right now. Yoshi is just a good human being and it shows. We support good people.
Dear spykp , let's not talk about blizard activison* here... FFXIV is too good to be spoiled by US problems IMO. (and I know I do add some spoiler too, but one can still try, you know). *this might be spelled wrong on purpose.
Anyways dear spykp. I didn't mean to sh_t anyone up, it's all fair to say, blizzs cradual lying on the com, cash shops (token) just being a question of time for classic (WOTlK) etc (see madseasonshow latest videos, no king rules forever..., balad of the levelboost...) (or some of asmong) ultimately over time bringing the game's integrity to an end, all that due to activision - as it was similar with war3R (confirmed by wc3s former lead dev that was temporarily working on the R).. etc. So that it feels more like Activision milking Blizzard atm. Anyways... So keep it in mind. I just say a video with this great developers over there (like I could watch this video 2x or 3x), is just too much of a treasure. Okay sorry and take care.
Fucking insane, cannot believe this even happened. Even crazier that YoshiP knows about Asmon's mom's situation. Really shows that he has a good connection with his community and the people that plays his game.
@@MaakaSakuranbo Could be. Regardless if it is him directly or a team he has which briefs him, it shows they actually keep up on things, at lot more than you can say for other companies and developers.
Im so used to being shit on that since I started playng ff xiv 4 months ago I still cannot comprehend there exist dev team like this. Im actually crying and laughing why did I waste so much time on wow. Literally even my health improved after those 4 months lmao.
The fact that yoshi p took time to learn a little bit about both rich and asmon, and offer that information to them on the first minute of conversation is so humbling. Yoshi P is an inspiration to all
Jesus man. Yoshi P just becomes more and more incredible the more I learn about him. Asking about Asmon's mom and giving well wishes at the beginning of the interview was the absolute definition of classy. Such a stark contrast compared to the outright contempt Asmon's been shown by *other* game studios. You can just sense the passion of Yoshi P without even understanding what he's saying. I hope he knows how much of an amazingly graceful role model he is to so many people.
It's the embodiment of Iwata's great quote of "On my business card, I am a corporate president. In my mind, I am a game developer. But in my heart, I am a gamer."
@@Kinross07 true, corporation that make money from game should always be aware to put game first before the money. when the developer lose their passion for making game, we player gonna feel it too. even without putting predatory live services and pay to win cash shop
He's part of a select breed of developpers. Hopefully more young gamers become devs in the future and produce high quality content as well ! Also as a Japanese he will make a game that feels a bit more different than what a western dev would create. Like it or hate it, it makes the game rather unique and different from a lot of what's out there. I may not be a hc player of FF14, but I liked what I saw. Ultimately I prefer "pre-abyssea" FF11 tho ;-)
This is why i firmly believe that game developers should be playing their own game cause it brings a new aspect to understanding games and balance Yoshi is a freaking legend brought ff14 from 1.0 to where it is now i struggle to think of a game developer who could do that
I would like to point out that YoshiP's team has a different work ethos than most other game devs. YoshiP gives his team a lot of free time, and sometimes he has to *force* some of them to take their breaks. He doesn't believe in the crunch, and it has the nice side effect of giving the devs time to play their own game
Because he is. And I don't mean this in calling him a kid. Honestly we're all kids, as we grow older a lot of us just learned how to act like adults. But in the end, deep down, we're all still kids. I'd be choking up for words if I were talking to Yoshi-P lol.
Dang, the fact that he immediately gave his regards and kind words to Asmon about his mom is lovely. This enormously successful video game director from a foreign country, taking the moment to acknowledge Asmon's personal struggle and wish him well is true respect. Yoshi is a true Chad.
I know everyone is talking about the start of the interview which was very heartwarming but I got to say at the ending of the interview when Yoshi.P offer's that when this pandemic is over they should grab a few drinks was very touching , I have never seen any other dev be this awesome! Like you can feel the connection in this interview and it's so heartwarming
I chucle every time they call Asmongold "Asmon-san". This interview was so wholesome hahah. I have so much respect for Yoshi-P. The first thing he did, was wishing Asmon and his mom well.
The translator did very well! The humbleness of a passionate creator and the respect of adoring fans. This is an hour video of pure excellence from all ends.
in a old mogtalk episode sindalf a world first raider asked 'do they even play their own game' in reference to a comment they made about acceptable ping. amazingly yoshi later came on mogtalk and gave a pretty emotional response to sindalfs comment i'm sure this comment was said quite flippantly by sindalf but it shows how serious yoshi takes that sentiment.
This interview was so refreshing. They’ve all been interesting, but mostly your standard fare. Asking about job changes and system updates and what not. It was really cool to just see Yoshi-P having a casual conversation with you guys about general gaming things. Not even really about Endwalker at all. Not many devs would use what is essentially their marketing time to just shoot the breeze with players.
That in itself is marketing though. That human side is specifically what asmon and rich have been saying was missing and a detriment to the other place. They both will have considered this interview a success and sung the praises of SE off the back of it
Exactly. Compare this to Blizzard lmao and its not even comparable. Its as of Blizzard, the greed corporation, doesnt care about its consumers, and I mean, dont wven view them as humans. I say that with confidence because in comparison, this guy really treats asmon and rich as humans in this interview. He's not worrying about maximizing the "advertisement" in what he says. He even ends up saying He wants to go for drinks at the end lmao. Cant even be compared to the joke that is Blizzard. Blizzard is truely a big Corp. That doesnt fucking care and noone cares. But here is first proof that all it takes, is the lead developer in such a big Corp, to view his consumers as people... and just treat them normally and not as walking "soon to be revenue", Yoshi evwn goes SO FAR as to urge people not to only play HIS game! Like, how good hearted is this guy? He wants people to actually have fun, because he knows he is bringing us entertainment. Compare that to Blizzard where even mentioning another game is out of the question. And im beating the dead horse here but im just so happy to see how a powerful guy at a Corp like this actually dont have to be a soulles, greedy, heartless, money-siphoning, twat. Yoshi P is a guy that you would easily befriend, if he went to the same school as you as a kid. And he's not afraid to show it either and this has seeped into the game itself, which is a good thing and that is why I think the game has become so popular.
@@MikeRees yes it is, BUT! if they market their product by so good heartrdly, OPENLY admitting to not ONLY stick to their product but enjoy the product of the competition too, then have my money. You sold me at showing you had core principals. Because principals in a human, will go anywhere he goes. In his product aswell and that is exactly what has happend here. I dont even play the game and I was happy hearing this interview.
It's pretty amazing what having an actual, honest to god gamer in charge of the game will do, as opposed to leads that hardly ever play ANY game, let alone their own game. Like hearing him talk about how he played all those old MMORPGs was just such a thrill, because I played a good chunk of them myself growing up (though granted I'm a bit younger). I remember playing UO back in, I think it was middle school, back on my old dial-up modem, so hearing that he had at least some of those same experiences as me really proves how much he just loves playing games.
I agree, in fact this works out very well for Asmon and Rich as they have not completed FFXIV they leave questions about game changes to the veterans and focus their questions on MMOs in general and their time in FFXIV instead.
It doesn't even matter that he has a team of people briefs him on many of the streamers' content. The fact that he HAS such a team to help him follow the game's content creator is already huge
Whether he genuinely follows all these things or if the PR team is just so competent that it makes it appear that he does, either way, it’s something for other developers to emulate
On top of that, asking after Asmons mom is something really extra, too. Even if you have a PR team briefing you, taking the time to acknowledge that is meaningful. Especially considering that the last year has been especially rough on YoshiP by way of several people close to him going through medical struggles. You can tell it's genuine. This whole media tour has blown me away coming from Blizzard attacking their community on Twitter.
I love how he isn't afraid to admit he and his team is also excited to try New World. It's the right mindset for a developer to have to make a better FFXIV.
Okay, who else would love to just have a stream of Yoshida nerding out about games he has played in the past? I personally would love to see where he comes from as a gamer more.
I'm actually impressed that Yoshi-P actually met multiple people and answer them personally, instead of asking, say, Koji to handle one party and Soken to handle the other, Oda another and Ishikawa another. The fact that that he himself decided to do so alone is impressive. Can't say for any other MMORPG cos I only pay attention to FFXIV but if the other games also did it like this, then that is also amazing.
To be fair, right now I think that Yoshi-p has to do the effort when it comes to PR because HE is the face of FFXIV and because he is the only one "available". Right now the studio Yoshi-p is directing has to finish Endwalker and work on FFXVI. Souken is most likely the main composer for FFXVI soundtrack and Koji may also have his hands tied to localise FFXVI outside of Japan. While most of the heavy work has been done, the whole team needs to polish the finer details for Endwalker as the Devteam chose to end the whole Zodiark Vs Hydaelyn thing in 6.0 and having 6.1 begin a new whole saga within the FFXIV world.
@@randomstreamer2868 pretty sure this isn't the first time he has done this kind of thing. People have talked highly of this guy for years. Not just recently but years.

I love how he thanks the invitees for taking time out of *their* busy schedules when the man's literally leading the development on multiple games for one of the biggest game companies in the world. Side note: Prayers up for Asmon and the family.

thats just respect and clean competiton, i think that this dev is like the peak of honor, the honor that wow used to make me feel, and that blizzard lost long ago. or pheraps never had...
Wow, Yoshi is a true game developer. 100% genuine. This guy cares about his players to go out of his way to do this interview and ask about Asmon's mom. Blizz, I'm sorry, but you better be taking notes in that conference room you are in watching this video.
Someone who loves to play MMOs made a good MMO. Who would have thought, huh? This is what the gaming industry has forgotten. If you don't have love for the product you are only going to put in half the effort for it.
Jesus Christ, I know so many people praised Yoshi-P and I didn't really, fully understand why.. The man is a game developer, but he acts more human than just about anyone I've ever seen. Humble, kind, and about a million other things. I'm actually pretty stunned and understand where the FF community comes from when reveering this man.
Perchance, jave you seen the clip from Fanfest when they talked about Soken's cancer battle? Yoshida really poured his heart out there. Hell, even back in the ARR launch there are clips of him getting very publicly emotional.
@@JackgarPrime Recalling the noclip documentary about ARR, it was very clear that Soken was one of the very first people who was onboard with Yoship about remaking the game. It’s very understandable that they would feel very close to each other, and I’m sure the whole dev team probably feels very close-knit without the whole “this workplace is a family” bs in other teams.
He is one of the few instances where you put someone in charge of a game that actually cares about the game, plays the game, and cares about the playerbase. He "cooks" the game with love and it shows.
Blizzard leaders: *silence* Random Blizzard dev: Asmon is an asshole. Yoshi-P: Thank you for taking time to attend our event. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your mother. What an AMAZING, almost shocking, difference in attitude.
1) Nice name I love it!! 2) Yes, even when they were revamping FFXIV to ARR they kept giving us content and showing us they genuinly cared, This is my last mmo I can freely take breaks from FFXIV to play oither games because of my life schedule but FFXIV is always subbed too.
Edit: The person who I was replying to deleted their own reply... They basically were just claiming that Yoshi-P was doing it all for the PR, and made a tangent/generalization about JP people and their politeness being two-faced. And here we have the person who's overly conscious about the actions of another human being. Btw if you couldn't tell, I just made an assumption (not even close to being a good one) about you, who I can't possibly know what goes on in your head. This, funnily enough, is what you're doing: Making an assumption & generalization about someone you barely even know about. While we're at assumptions I'll make another one! You're probably the type who thinks any interaction someone does has some sort of hidden agenda behind it (I'm probably wrong, but I'm just poking silly fun). For all we know, yeah he could be doing a PR stunt, or he could just be a developer who likes getting in touch with community, or it could be a bit of both (and imo, the last one isn't really a bad thing). I really question the point of your comment (I mean, I'm also kinda wasting my time but I have nothing to do atm), you're not really going to change many people's perspectives. I mean if you want to cause a tiny bit of discord well... good for you I guess. But seriously, comments like these won't do anything on a video that already has an overwhelmingly good response to Yoshi-P, you should probably go make your own forum post somewhere else... Which, tbh, probably won't do much either. Why are you so concerned about our views and trust on Yoshi-P as a developer, it's not like we're really doing anything to affect you in particular. Hell why are you even here to begin with again? Congrats, you've shown your ability to overthink and your great awareness shows no bounds. p.s. I wasn't commenting on your take on Japanese culture, generally speaking that could be true, but that's still a generalization. Not every Japanese person acts like that to a T.
I’ve been lucky enough to meet Yoshi P in person a few times during finding my love for FFXIV over the last 7 years that I’ve played. He always makes time for the players, even if it’s saying hello at a fanfest, popping in to a final fantasy 14 organised event as a complete surprise as he just so happened to be in London at the time, sneaking in to give out raffle prizes or giving people the chance to be heard. He has also been known to sing in a rock band, cosplay, and keep us entertained for hours with Koji Fox, Soken, Aimi and the gang all for the fun of it or entertainment for the players and passion he has got what he does 💜
How cool is it that Yoshida-san ended the interview with, "See you next time!" instead of just the kind of dismissal you'd typically see from a corporate executive? Yoshi-P really loves the game and the people who choose to spend their time there, and it shows! Looking forward to that next time that "Asmon-san" and "Rich-san" get to speak again with Yoshi-P! ^_^
@@johnlicht6532 Not at all, if anything it's the opposite, Japanese people are very careful to not step out of line, they're very respectful but never so open and "casual" in their conversations with people they aren't really close with. Yoshi-P is absolutely an exception to this, for example in Japan crying in public is seen as being "weak", but he's cried already more than once, you would NEVER see most Japanese game directors/producers showing emotions like that.

Yoshi-P is such a wholesome man. The way he started mention asmon mom, and rich with his doble legend before any question, plus all the time he put for question with content creators before a release is something that, a lot of current or ex WoW players that follow asmon, we have never saw and probably never will. Also very nuts you guys got the legend itself for an interview
Blizzard: Calls their #1 content creator an asshole and barely acknowledges him. Yoshi P: Has only had Asmon's attention for a matter of months, not only takes an interview but checks in on his mother.
@@trignite This argument is so stupid. Yoshi-P is well known for being down to earth, and he has proven that a LOT of times, so it's already hard that it is all marketing since its hard to keep up with a lie for so long, but even if it was all marketing, that's already better than basically 99% of companies out there. It's like saying companies donating to cancer is just a marketing move, well no shit, but it's still better than not doing it right? Having a company invest time doing good things just to look good for branding is way better than just ignoring your public altogether like blizzard does.
Well this just bring the dev's job to another level, being a player of many games, having the player mentality so he knows how players feel and also getting a taste of other games, this guy is fully commited being both dev and player, also the idea of open communication is a healthy position to keep on making good content, in the end devs make content for players so having the right idea of what content to deliver is a huge plus since if something is not good its gonna take devs' time for something that players won't appreciate since its out of their taste (looking to deliver both for casual and hardcore/challenge-heavy players is smart) Also i think that any kind of repetitive or farm heavy content that requires you to play the same thing over and over on a daily basis just to get on a higher level of gear is not a healthy mechanic for mmos, kinda like forcing your players to get tired of playing the same thing over and over (wow reference) to the point your players fuming with negativity and then you have the gap between devs and players, the devs don't know whats wrong and they think its the players' fault whereas in reality this system leads to the players' dissatisfaction. P.s. the idea of a head-dev having a lot of control on what the game leads to in the future instead of executives is a very good thing, the first party is specializing on the game in depth and the second party has interest and knowledge on corporate development, but the game is played by people who like games so a person that is close to that will deliver better than someone who has nothing to do with that, to sum it up the head dev has more freedom to do his thing to get the game higher with less restrictions from the higher ups, the higher ups are happy the game is going in a good/upwards direction so they are happy with that.
Being protective and being assholes while shiting on other games are 2 different things. There is a line that most people that claim to be protective usually cross just to get an ego boost ( "my game is better than yours now so fuck you" ) . Its OK being a bit protective, but hiding behind that to get your hate fix or to harass streamers and players is not fine and people should fuckin acknowledge that more often, as its the first step to having a more healthy community.

I am seriously impressed with the interpreter being able to translate the genuineness of what they are saying without losing any of it. She made the conversation seem like it flowed super well. Also props to the editor for keeping some stuff in and cutting out others during translation. I liked watching this video a LOT. All around amazing.
49:00 When Aimi knows the gaming community, so well she corrects Rich saying "NoPixel" (the GTA RP server) into "NoClip" (the documentary channel) in her translation to Yoshi P
I didn't even notice that when I heard that moment. I was listening for her to say NoPixel, even though I watched the NoClip documentary years ago. I just forgot their name

@Jay Bee You COULD say that but there is a problem... There is a very terrible track record and trail of destruction laying behind Blizzard. They have so much damning past behind them that when they do something "good" it will always appear to be a stunt. However, Yoshi-P has a track record for kindness, caring, knowledge and professionalism, so when he does something "good" it isnt seen as out of place or a stunt... its simply seen as who he is.
The fact that he took the time to look into each person and even gave his condolences on asmonds mom is outstanding, more gamedevs need to act like ff14
At the end Yoshi P says he would love to go out drinking with them to talk shop and meet face to face. That's next level kindness and consideration and not something you ever hear about devs doing. Hopefully this man inspires our children so compassion will rule the gaming industry instead of profits. When you work from compassion the profits come naturally. Just look at the comments on this video and you will see people are starving for compassion from their favorite development companies.
You hit the nail on its head. I just compared some of the things he said in this interview with any and every blizzard interviews Ive ever heard. Its not even comparable. The guy is literally so good hearted that he's talking about other brands, nay, the brand of the direct competition of his own product and says "dont only consume my product. Consume theirs too!" He unironically wants people to have fun. Like... wow. Its insane how this is the only guy as a lead dev. At such a big Corp who is so kind. And I bet I havent even seen a fraction of it yet. I dont even play the damn game! LOL Im just laughing thinking about a Blizzard interview where they mentioned another brand by name. Hahahahha its like imagining the unreal being real. Cant compute in my brain. Let alone just telling everyone, in the free marketing time, to go play other games and not only his one. Hahahha its so far away from the greedy blizzard mindset that I dont even know anymore. I feel like its good in a way thoigh, that wow us dying. It was a thing of the past. Let the new game with people who make it that actually want their consumers to have fun and not viewing them (like blizzard) as walking dollar bills and revenue. And yes this is the best way to garner revenue, which all companies care about in the end cos they are bussinisses afterall, because if you have trust with your consumers, then they will stay your consumers. If you have to re-sell your product every month to someone who already bought your product (like blizz) then its a loss long term, because obv. The back bone ans structure of the whole product was a quick money scheme and not a love and passion for the product itself, like final fantasy 14. I could go on but you get the point. This guy knows how to run a company as the lead game dev! All it took was compassion, good heartedness and actual passion for the product itself!!!
@@boccobadz I'm not bashing Witcher at all but they had several hardcore problems during development of that game as well. In one of the other interviews Yoshi was asked to confirm or deny the fan theory that he's a Primal who has tempered the player base. He claims it's not true.
That is Blizzard in a nut shell. Hence why I do not blame any streamer or gamer for not playing a game where devs hate the player base and only want them to spend money on that 6 month mount~ XD.
At last this is the Legendary Interview we were waiting for, but honestly the best part was Yoshi-P being considerate about Asmon's mom health issue, a legendary game developer, gamer and human being indeed.
You know what? I think Mister Yoshi-sama shows exactly what it is that made people so easily lose interest in something like WoW. Community interaction. The way he keeps himself connected to the gamers so much is such a significant feeling, showing he's not some corporate idiot. My time of gaming lately has been so dully, but like I said... it is alive again.
I played it and I enjoyed it. Going to sub again after I get stable internet. I liked the outfits the most and jobs being role-locked the least. I'm not quite 30 yet, but I can definitely see the appeal.

Wow I never really noticed how the translators have to mimic mannerisms and laugh when they laughed big props this woman is a pro I speak Japanese and English and it’s very well done 👏
This man is a fucking gem of a human being. You can tell he oozes passion for his game. No stuffy corporate lawyer answers like Ion always gives. Granted, he is speaking Japanese, but still. You can tell even through translation.
@@deast1827 Because the WoW gamers are biased against the WoW devs due to years of being mistreated and talked down to by the dev team. Thus, Ion would be harangued for the slightest thing, because the expectation was already implied due to whom he is at Blizzard. Thus, Yoshi P is beloved and the ground he walks on is worshipped (/good_natured_sarcasm).
@Jay Bee Bullshit. The reason Ion acts the way he does is because he is forced to by owners of their corporation. If this wasn't about enforcing "modern western culture" which is only about destruction and pitting everyone at each other like some dogs in a ring, all one would have to do is just start doing the right thing. PR BS once, but the next time one does something genuinely again, you would have to start appreciating it. For obvious reasons this will never happen but my point stands.

Wow so nice of Yoshi to ask about Asmon’s mom. It’s the little things like that make fans appreciate the devs so much. I was waiting for this interview!
PROTECT YOSHI-P AT ALL COSTS. I am not an FF fan by any means, I tried it and really couldn't get along with the art style and UI. However that's a purely subjective thing, and I completely appreciate the game as a whole, maybe I'll give it another go after seeing this. This interview was incredible, Yoshi-P is exactly what the MMO community has been needing, how he is genuinely excited about the New World release because it excites the gaming community is so refreshing, this guy is a gem.

If the UI bugs you, if its a layout issue, there is a whole thing built in that you can completely rearrange it so it is more comfortable for you. Like.. everything. Every single aspect of the UI can be moved to where you want it. I would suggest looking into it, cause the game is SO worth the effort

Holy crap she’s so good at translating. Not only did she have such good short term memory but using idioms and sayings from both languages so easily and interchangeably is fluency even a native speaker struggles to reach in their own language let alone two separate ones
She is writing down the conversations both ways.
i love how she did the translation greatly and also conveyed the tones and emotions of speakers fairly well! Very inspiring for bilingual learners :D
Aimi is a badass!

I know! Such a wholesome moment when they asked about his mom 🥺

Oh god, I’m also from PR. Didn’t know this since I bought the game after my electricity came back.

Wow, if it was ActivBlizz they wouldnt have given a fuck and just freed the housing and charged subs
Dude that’s amazing I had no idea they did that! The ffxiv team never ceases to impress me.
This. Right here.
It is almost like you broke free from an abusive relationship and met a genuine, nice, humane person for the first time
True, he actually somehow paid attention enough (or someone told him about it) so it shows an attention to the community rather than just being "all business" and not caring who is interviewing you.
It’s more than just game devs though, you really don’t see this level of compassion as much in any industry, or to go even further politics.
Can we talk about how one of the first things Yoshi-P said was "I'm sorry your mom is sick, that must be difficult". What a legend! Just a man full of humanity.
oh god I'm reading these comments lol. I'm already getting too emotional, will I even survive watching the video!?
Agreed. All the WOW devs think to say is how he's such an asshole and a toxic piece of shit but here's Yoshi-P being a genuinely great human being.
Forreal. Just basic humanity at play.

Welcome to Eorzea! I hope you will have a great experience! ❤️
He doesn't need a superiority complex, he is superior.
I think, if asmon lived in japan, yoshi-p would go visit his mom and build gundam plamo with them...
It's really a good move
Btw, it is said that Yoshi was interviewed for about 30 fuckin interviews in just one day
35:00 I want this in any game Dev.
Prioritizing the word FUN, because game is an entertainment
the true best thing about Yoshi-P is that he actually listen and noted the feedback in interview to bring it back to the dev team, I can't remember how many QoL and minor changes happened just a few weeks later thanks to interviews, even niche things like housing guest book were actually originated from an interview
Hard to find devs like Yoshi P. nowadays.

Telling streamers at the end of the interview to play other games too shows how noble and fair-play leader Yoshi-P is. Respect
Notice how all of these press tour interviews start with Yoshi P hinting that he wants to chat about video games, not necessarily FFXIV. But everyone does anyway. This man just wants to tell everyone his favorite Pokemon but no one will let him.
Someone should ask his favourite class in Diablo 2.
He sees the players as his friends and want to talk about whatever, getting to know them. I would love to be able to talk to Yoshi-P about anything. 🥺🥺❤️❤️

And it is very heartwarming to see that happening.
Wow, this guy is so wholesome, down-to-earth, and passionate about making his game the best it can be. Wishing Asmon’s mom well at the beginning was so heartfelt. If more lead game devs were like YoshiP, the gaming industry would be in a great place.

The fact that this starts with Yoshi P showing sympathy for Asmons mum is amazing. I love this dude. That minute hit me in the feels more than FFXIV itself (lol) and I really enjoy the game.
I think the emotional connection the player develops with the FF14 story and characters must be the result of Yoshi P's emotional connection with himself, his team and us the players. It speaks volumes that Yoshi P wanted to start with an emotional connection with Zack.

Is that why the game is outdated, lack any community or PVP updates and lacks innovations? I think they sleep on the shoulders of the work of previous generations like most MMORPG MOBA studios. from playstation 1 2 era. like FF x-2. the game lack social and PVP updates. doesn't have chat bubbles (you only look at chat box whole day which sux), no smaller nameplates aka text font size option, voice chat, good 4v4 Arena style map like Heavens Arena from the King's Avatar animation, no frontline popout sound notification, outdated combat and subscription model, convoluted login/register system (cant even use afna at launcher reset password confirm email box), no blue mage in PVP, lack of innovations such combining already good PvE elements with PVP such as open-world raid bosses where players and guild fight to contest said bosses? compete for the boss. they could drop epic mounts o exp/gear tokens which could be a great alternative to story leveling. new players cannot share their content on ffxiv reddit... the comments are disabled in their youtube update videos...
watch the Kings Avatar so u can learn how to actually make complete game
doesn't change the fac the game has 500 ms animation lock + 2.5s global cd tab targeting combat.

He actually watches a lot of these streamers omelet. Everyone on the dev team does.

He's actually a HUGE fan of Diablo 2. There's. A picture floating around of him at blizzcon YEARS ago, you know before...everything happened

That’s what all Japanese do, it’s not just him.
@@Ew-wth There is SOME difference in eastern and western in that eastern isn't generally interested in alienating their audience in order to push politics

He’s so attentive, positive, and down to earth. I’m so happy to be part of this community. My heart swelled when he asked about the well being of Asmon’s mom. This man deserves a crown. Thank you Yoshi-P, for everything.
I couldn't have said it better myself. 🥺🥺❤️❤️
Pikabad
@@trignite But a great move indeed
@@trignite This argument is so stupid. Yoshi-P is well known for being down to earth, and he has proven that a LOT of times, so it's already hard that it is all marketing since its hard to keep up with a lie for so long, but even if it was all marketing, that's already better than basically 99% of companies out there. It's like saying companies donating to cancer is just a marketing move, well no shit, but it's still better than not doing it right? Having a company invest time doing good things just to look good for branding is way better than just ignoring your public altogether like blizzard does.
I swear ffxiv's PR team needs one hell of a raise not only because of this particular interview
or maybe they get paid properly already and because of that they're doing such a great job :P
Well this just bring the dev's job to another level, being a player of many games, having the player mentality so he knows how players feel and also getting a taste of other games, this guy is fully commited being both dev and player, also the idea of open communication is a healthy position to keep on making good content, in the end devs make content for players so having the right idea of what content to deliver is a huge plus since if something is not good its gonna take devs' time for something that players won't appreciate since its out of their taste (looking to deliver both for casual and hardcore/challenge-heavy players is smart)
Also i think that any kind of repetitive or farm heavy content that requires you to play the same thing over and over on a daily basis just to get on a higher level of gear is not a healthy mechanic for mmos, kinda like forcing your players to get tired of playing the same thing over and over (wow reference) to the point your players fuming with negativity and then you have the gap between devs and players, the devs don't know whats wrong and they think its the players' fault whereas in reality this system leads to the players' dissatisfaction.
P.s. the idea of a head-dev having a lot of control on what the game leads to in the future instead of executives is a very good thing, the first party is specializing on the game in depth and the second party has interest and knowledge on corporate development, but the game is played by people who like games so a person that is close to that will deliver better than someone who has nothing to do with that, to sum it up the head dev has more freedom to do his thing to get the game higher with less restrictions from the higher ups, the higher ups are happy the game is going in a good/upwards direction so they are happy with that.
And this is why FF14 fans are so protective of the game. The director himself feels like part of the community instead of a face used to milk money.
He plays with community, I think its every month. But yeah it's super awesome.
Being protective and being assholes while shiting on other games are 2 different things. There is a line that most people that claim to be protective usually cross just to get an ego boost ( "my game is better than yours now so fuck you" ) . Its OK being a bit protective, but hiding behind that to get your hate fix or to harass streamers and players is not fine and people should fuckin acknowledge that more often, as its the first step to having a more healthy community.

that moment when you realize that this is the closest to an Allcraft that they can possibly get with YoshiP. Glad that they were able to have this opportunity to talk to the man himself.
I just forgot their name
yo nice catch! she also had a ton of MMO lingo down. i mean, obviously she works at squenix so she knows her shyt, but i remember having to do translations for my company, and we hired another translator but he didnt know the game genre terminology. so i was backup translation for the particularly technical jargon.
@@Supersonic some people want a 1 for 1 translation, but sometimes sentence structures do not work that way and you do need the flexibility to insert/remove a word or two.
I was in the camp of “I’ve poured so much into wow, I can’t leave”, and the recent lawsuit pushed me over the edge. Grabbed my friends and we cancelled our subs and joined FFXIV. It was pretty amazing to realize that the game we had been poking fun at for so long is actually superior and just MORE FUN in so many ways. You can tell how much love is put into this, and how much they care about the community. So happy.
Let me guess the word weeb game came up more than once?

@@nmgagnon that's pretty much the general basis people assume then throw out the word weeb as well, but I'll say this you are right about the transmog collection it is a better system that and blizz does have a more efficient way for players to pay for their game.
Blizz Dev: "this guy is an a-hole."
FF Dev: "thank you for your time, I hope your mom is going to be fine."
This really encapsulates Blizzard vs good studios like the one working on FFXIV quite well.
The virgin bliz dev vs the chad square dev
This times a million. Hit the nail on the head so hard, it actually got driven into another dimension.
This needs to be a meme so blizzard can see themselves for what they are. Even tho they won't learn nothing from it.
Consume theirs too!"
He unironically wants people to have fun. Like...
Only dev I could think of that has a similar approach is CD Projekt Red

That is Blizzard in a nut shell. Hence why I do not blame any streamer or gamer for not playing a game where devs hate the player base and only want them to spend money on that 6 month mount~ XD.
At last this is the Legendary Interview we were waiting for, but honestly the best part was Yoshi-P being considerate about Asmon's mom health issue, a legendary game developer, gamer and human being indeed.

Oh it gets worse/better there was over 40 Japanese interviews
Wow I never really noticed how the translators have to mimic mannerisms and laugh when they laughed big props this woman is a pro I speak Japanese and English and it’s very well done 👏
This man is a fucking gem of a human being. You can tell he oozes passion for his game. No stuffy corporate lawyer answers like Ion always gives. Granted, he is speaking Japanese, but still. You can tell even through translation.
@Jay Bee why do you think he has to?
@@deast1827 Because the WoW gamers are biased against the WoW devs due to years of being mistreated and talked down to by the dev team. Thus, Ion would be harangued for the slightest thing, because the expectation was already implied due to whom he is at Blizzard.
Squeenix prevented that by doing the opposite, by being humble and caring and staying connected to their players.
@Jay Bee "The wow community would say it was fake PR BS" ... like you're doing right now? mmk
@@XBullitt16X Amazing considering he isn't some random developer. He leads one of SE division making games such as FF14 or FF16. he still is very grounded and talks to random fans like myself at fan fest or Gamescom. He sometimes is in the crowd listening to concert of their FF14 band, too.
Yeah completely agree, I also tried and it wasn't for me. You can tell he genuinely cares, a stark difference from Ion.
You can customize the ui to your liking if you ever decide to come back 😁
Yeah man give it another try sometime. I actually bounced off FFXIV two times before, but at the third time I went a bit deeper into the game and rn I'm having a blast even tho I'm barely finishing RR as level 58 dragoon. It's so refreshing after wow, just need some time to adjust the "cultural shock" I'd call it. Highly recommend :D
If the UI bugs you, if its a layout issue, there is a whole thing built in that you can completely rearrange it so it is more comfortable for you. Like.. everything. Every single aspect of the UI can be moved to where you want it. I would suggest looking into it, cause the game is SO worth the effort
It's brand new so I'm giving it some benefit of the doubt, but New World is dry as fuck in content so they better have big plans.
