@@Akumeitakai that means a lot thank you - I’d be remiss to admit I’m not riding the high of this, but I intend to only make stuff when there’s an idea or joke or need to. There’s definitely strategy and paying my dues while making what is mass appealing- as long as I myself find it appealing. Furthermore I never intend to be shoehorned into one series or IP. This one is just lovingly getting a bit more time in the sun right now, I’ve got a bunch of other parodies/original projects in the works.
@RudeJackArt Refreshingly candidate and honest, sure this series gets a lot of clicks but it's also well done, excited to see new ideas from you as well
I really fw the idea that the mario brothers are just two normal brothers that live together and their little tradition is going to the local record store and just browsing music together each saturday weekend
I adore this the most out of any "realistic" Mario designs because it's not going for the grotesque or overly caricaturized, a lot of care was taken to make them look EXACTLY like some guy you might know if you live in New England, while still being identifiably Mario and Luigi. That's a masterclass in character design.
I'm Chinese, but this kind of mustachioed, workingman's grunginess is the kind of vibe I experienced growing up & seeing my UPS father hanging out with his friends in the late 80s & early 90s even on the West Coast. The air used to have more cigarettes & piss in it, it's a little hard to elaborate past that.
Mario and Luigi jamming to September, Link with the Tritarforce, and Falco making his RudeJackArt debut recommending an AIR album tied this all up so well. Great job!
Now we only need an animation of them walking like Spongebob in that one "lost episode" doing the John Lennon walk and pretty much we can make them vibe to any tune. Imagine a world where they just enjoy any kind of music, not restrained by genres, but for what their souls crave
These versions of Mario & Luigi (i love you even more for making these by the way), are actually so adorable. They look like the types of guys to invite you over to dinner and chat with you because they never actually got to know you when you moved in. They, i feel would DEFINITELY be open to new friends.
See, this is the kind of Mario fan content I enjoy. No Mario being an abusive dick to Luigi, said Luigi isn't some strung out junkie, just two brothers enjoying life in Brooklyn.
Dude, I am in love with the way you've designed The Brothers Mario, they look more real than the actual live-action Mario and Luigi from the old movie.
