Nice vid. Having used Kodi on a laptop for years and I always felt is was cumbersome to use. On my Firestick, Cinema HD and similar type apks are magnitudes easier to use. I haven’t compared the total space Kodi w/add ons take up, but I would guess it’s much more than a Cinema HD type program. And as we know, disk space is a premium. Thanks again for your always informative vids 👍
CinemaHD has been my go-to for several years. I too have always found kodi slow and clunky but I keep trying it😅
A typical app, similar to Cinema, is around 47 MB. With a few addons installed, Kodi is about 279 MB, so yes, it takes up more space.
@@FireTVSticksany idea as to why after updating to Kodi 20.2 I can’t get either The Crew or Scrubs V2 to work ? After numerous deletion and fresh installation of both when searching for TV programmes I always get the “no stream found” Cinema HD used to be a go to but I believe it’s been pulled. Has anyone any other stand alone that work without Kodi ? Cheers in Advance John

Thanks for this video, just installed KODI onto my Fire TV Cube 2nd Gen, about to install some add ons, bit confused as to when I’m in EXPERT mode in settings in the Audio section, I have a 5.1 surround sound system and want to make sure my audio settings are set to the best ones to get best audio on movies etc

Depends on which build you are currently using but there should be an option somewhere in Settings to change skin to "Estuary" which will take you back to the original skin.

How can I watch AGT in the UK?
Used a vpn and was watching it on the firestick on NBC. Half way through the series and it's saying I'm out of NBC credits and want me to provide the password for my American service provider which being in the UK I don't have.
Watching AGT with the kids in a Saturday night was part of our weekend routine but now we can't watch it anymore.
Any ideas what I can do to carry on watching it as the kids are gutted they can't watch the end?

Great video as always, but gave up on Kodi years ago due to constant chase of a stable working add-ons, the builds are always bloated and developers dropping support of add-ons. There are much better options out there now.
It depends on the specific addon you are using. In my case, I have been using The Crew addon for over 5 years, and it has only received a few updates during that time.

Your RD credentials should be OK if you are just updating the version of Kodi (so long as it is from 19 to 20 or from 20 to another 20 version).

Kodi installed and access to usb storage but can't add windows network (smb) for the media on my laptop. Kodi sees my laptop but i get "error, operation not permitted." Have tried sharing my c drive (where my videos are in movies, tv shows and music videos directories) and granting security permissions to Everyone but no joy. Same problem with VLC Media Player. Both of these apps used to work properly with my Windows media until I cloned my hard drive to a larger SSD. Coincidence? BTW, Plex and Emby play all my media files on my hard drive except DVD format, which Kodi will do from usb. Any thoughts or perhaps a Kodi for Firestick/Windows (smb) tutorial video? Can't find anything, thanks!

You should do an old school video how to change the skins on Kodi, I think the default skin that Kodi has is not user friendly and hard to navigate for beginners. And I still prefer the confluence skin because it's look and feel and customization.

I don't rely on Builds. Instead, I use two add-ons The Crew & Homelander) that work incredibly well. If you want to enhance your streaming experience, I highly recommend Real Debrid. What if I did skip "allow" after downloading, how do I rectify the problem? I am also not seeing the downloader options in the developer option area.
Uninstall and reinstall Downloader, making sure to click "Allow" when prompted.
If you see an option "Apps from unknown sources" click to change from OFF to ON.
When I dumped satellite TV for streaming via Firestick about 10-years ago, I followed another UA-camr who was a proponent of Kodi and builds. He'd have a "top 10 builds" about every week and I'd try them but get frustrated as the builds' links wouldn't work and not USA focused for content so I gave up.
Builds are great, but they are usually packed full of unnecessary stuff you won't use. I recommend installing Kodi with 1 or 2 good add-ons such as The Crew, Asgard or Homelander and getting yourself a Real Debrid account. More information can be found on my website, firetvsticks.com.
@@FireTVSticks I agree 100% I use the crew addon which has everything you need. You can get Daddy live from it also which has plenty of channels. This Idea of having 1 or 2 addons whithin kodi seems to work a lot better than any build especially if you don't use RD. Just a point with addons you need to make sure the addon does work with kodi 20.2
@FireTVSticks On the other hand, Diggz Xenon with Real Debrid has been great on a Cube achieving excellent consistent quality for a couple of years with a very broad scope.
Where there were glitches they get dealt with. About a year ago the developer fixed the programme guide for Live TV The current build updated to a reliable MP3 player.
I really enjoy Live Sports on The Crew, classic noir movies and binge watching TV series.
There used to be a light version for the unexpanded FireTVStick which I also used when I was traveling.

Anytime i download it and push done then it goes to a status bar on downloaded and loads forever and says connecting and winds up not being on my firestick resulting in having to keep downloading it
How much storage space do you have left on your Firestick? What Firestick is it?
My firestick is only version 5.2. Is it therefore impossible to download Proton VPN?
I am not 100% certain but you may be able to install a previous (old) version of the Proton VPN app. However, I'm not sure which version works on Fire OS 5. You can find previous versions on my Mouse Toggle download page.
Thanks for replying. I've tried to install Proton anyway but it won't install I think it's because there's not sufficient MB remaining to accommodate it. I've made attempts to uninstall several unused apps from my firestick but none of them will uninstall. I don't want to buy a new firestick as I have a IPTV system installed on my current one and it will get messy if I try to get the system on a new stick. Any clue why apps won't install? Cheers
@@Oliias It does actually appear that Proton VPN may not be compatible with Fire OS 5 which is why you are unable to install Proton. However, you should be able to uninstall almost any app (unless it is pre-installed by Amazon). Do you get any error messages? What apps won't uninstall?
@@FireTVSticks Thanks for that. I've managed to get to the bottom of the uninstall issue. Basically, I was trying to uninstall via "manage installed applications" & that wasn't working. I've realised you can delete them much easier via app library. One of the ones I was deleting was Kodi (19.3) I downloaded that and added "Asgard" using your guidance but nothing would play. I'm trying to free up some MB's to accommodate Kodi (20.2) and Asgard to see if it works now but I ain't confident. Cheers.

Can anyone please tell me what I need to do to be able to search for whatever TV show and movies I want to watch because every video that I find on UA-cam is no help whatsoever.
