    Reviewing the Monologue Monophonic Analog Synthesizer from Korg. UA-cam is saturated with videos displaying mini synths like this but always with EDM or Pop music. I wanted to display a HipHop application which starts at 11:30 mark. Tons of sounds can be generated with this compact machine. No computer used during this video.

    I just missed an opportunity to pick up the Korg Minilogue used at guitar center last Saturday for $349. The absolute best value for a four voice analog polyphonic synth on the market. Run these synths through some earthquaker devices guitar pedal or something of the sort and it gets crazy real quick, preferably a pedal with stereo out. The sounds get HUGE

    Nicely done brotha! So excited seeing you expand your palate and branching into analog synths and opening up new ideas to your fans. Much respect.

    I just watched three reviews of this before yours. Each review was good but the last of the three really dug in and he showed each feature. Well yours expanded on that especially with the hip hop drums at the end. No other review put those drums in. That really made a difference. Plus your initial sequences took it to another level as well. The other reviews made me want this keyboard. With yours I don't know if I can live life without it. Too much cool for $300.

    It's me again man. I've spent 10 minutes playing with a monosyth vst and it sent me on a nostalgia trip. My appreciation and respect for a monosynth rose exponentially. I've learned my lesson: *never underestimate a monosynth*

    Just got myself one. Haven't had the chance to turn on yet. Only came yesterday. So will be checking out today. Haven't had any gear for almost 20 years. Trying to get my kids into synth's. And I think I'm having a mid life crisis lol. So got one of these, a sample volca 2, Volca Fm, a keystep 37 and a Circuit. Original circuit. So good to get a heads up on the monologue. Great video 🔥 . Love from the UK 🙏👍👊💪🔥

    Bought the Black 1 today after listening to all the synths in person and I choose Korg Monologue. Reason Instant playing and tweaking and saving and on the go and osc are super fat when dry and got a great deal. Im going to add a pro one when it comes out or model d to too and then a berhinger 808 when they come out.

    One note at a time?! Nope I'm out.
    Edit: Yeah, my initial comment is unfair. After watching a video about monophonic vs polyphonic, I've readjusted my attitude toward monophonic synths. Monologue is actually a great synth and I love the sounds it produces. But what I love most is that sounds I make make with it. I still love the ability to make chords though so I would be on the fence if I were out to by my first synth. If I were building a small collection (assuming I was serious in music production) I might be ok with buying this.

    Why does every review I see of this thing the people are going out of their way to use the most sharpest ear fatiguing sounds?
    it’s like you purposely skip over any smooth sound with a good roundness to it & you could play something sharp and undesirable that’ll create a headache I just don’t understand 🤦🏾‍♂️ the only decent sound u played was bass ..

    • @drstupid1
      @drstupid1 7 років тому +3

      Clayton Brown that's actually incorrect. It only has one envelope generator but the envelope and lfo can both control the filter (simultaneously, too)... Furthermore you can set the amp to gate mode (like an sh101) and set the envelope to control only the filter. Or use the envelope on the amp and set the lfo to one shot mode so it acts like a dedicated filter envelope.
