My mistakes come towards the end of the race when the pressure is on 😂 Love your videos Rory, watching these has ignited the passion for Gran Turismo 😁
I always race clean unless I get punted and punt the bloke in front of me. I found racing clean is to my detriment because majority of people in my rating are not following the etiquette guidelines 💯
Great advice. Another tip. If you dealing with a rage blocker in front and an aggressive behind let him by and they will take the blocker and maybe themselves out. I call it the 2 for 1 move.
Just want to say a huge thanks for the content and the effort you put into it. I’m a long time GT player - but recently got into it more and now have a very (very!) modest sim set up. Learning how to race properly and need to learn how to improve…your content helps thanks :) 🙏🏼
I was once a very aggressive driver & that sometimes put me in #1 pos. But it doesn’t work all the time, so I started being neutral and wait for the car in front to make a mistake & it is better than being high risk high reward driver because even though I am a clean aggressive driver, they will always ram you into the shadow realm. So I just go be neutral and do some fake attacks to make em overshoot or move into a bad line.
My main problem in this game is my anxiety 😭 I am a begginer, I try to be a clean racer but all of the times I get really anxious and afraid, and I commit mistakes that fucks up other players, and everytime I feel so awful. It ruins all the fun for me.
I learned my lesson with the pitstop rule the first time i came last😂 very good vid i learned a bit more as well, as i also used to be one to quit because i felt bad for bumping the player in front of me by braking late. Thanks for the extra info Rory
lol this video is funny but useful in actually starting my UA-cam journey for sim racing channel but it’s going good I watched you 28hr race and that looked tiring now i respect you a lot and your a good lad
Well said Rory! I'm a low level A driver, but at timetrials, i'm mostly within 1-1.5% of the worls fastest, so i think i got the speed and can do constant laptimes in a race. So i tried to level up: I chosse track & car combo carfully, practice a lot, quali as best as i can, try to manage tires and fuel, i don't fight when costs time, stay out of trouble. I don't need to be first, not even on podium, I just want to gain points to level up. BUT: In almost every race I got punted, pushed of track, other people ruin my race. So at the end I lost on DR.... Yes, drivin against other people can be fun, but in my experiece this is the exception. (btw.: Lobby races are more clean and fair than daily races, I think)
Biggest mistake: Playing a game where the company does not care for a clean experience and does not pause/ban dirty drivers. In the last 15 races I went straight from B back to the bottom of D by being punted in every single race. Gg Polyphony Digital.
Hi, I’m new to the game. Reached B/S rating but suddenly got down to B/B last week. Don’t know why it happened, but it was really difficult getting S rank again, as people in C and B often play wreck fest. From what I’ve seen in a month of playing, people often try overtaking whenever they see the chance even if the next corners don’t allow for it.
Other simple tips: - if it’s a Red Bull livery: run - learn your breaking points & references. - consistence is key: You might be the fastest but if you spin every 2 turns it’s useless - always ask yourself what you could have done better
I'm more of a Casual player, probably only done 10 races in GT7 a little more in GT Sport so I'm a B rank driver according to my GT7 stats, 3 race wins combined and 3 pole positions 4 fastest laps combined with the 2 games. I remember coming back to GT Sport online after a few years away I was a lot slower of course, I qualified 12th, I had a Pink car in front of me very much in the infamous Kimi style, I noticed very early on this guy in the pink car was very Kimi like in his response to other drivers so I chose not to battle but follow him and what a decision! He was like reaper in a time where they stopped applying penalties, just shafting car after car into the Shadow Realm and I followed him home for a 3rd place finish with one of his previous victims chucking himself off while trying to overtake me around the last few corners. It was the interlagos circuit and I remember my missus said watching it that "you did nothing in that race lol". I like to think of it as adapting to the circumstances.
Working together is less effective in the lower categories since each driver loses time at different points on the track. I started playing online about a month ago and I'm currently in B class, S Rating , with my lap times about 3 seconds slower than the top drivers. This week at Daytona, I noticed that even though I was racing with others who were lapping in the 45, 46, and 47-second range, each driver lost time in different sections. In that race, at least for me, the best strategy was to pit on the first lap and run as solo as possible.
Never ragequitting is true. This week at Daytona I started second and was rammed on second turn, I was then last place. I considered quitting but I said fuck it, stayed, drove like hell and finished second place, ahead of the one that rammed me.
Depends on track for me. Like Bathurst and Daytona I was dropping so fast but Watkins and Brands I'm back up to B lol. I actually like Daytona but it is tricky on the mediums.
I really love how you elaborate and then mention the point you’re making. Quite a decent idea. But what happens if you make a genuine mistake in Turn 1?😅 It’s a mistake, but sometimes I do feel responsable.
I won’t rage quit if it’s first lap or early in the race, the first couple laps are off the pace so you can still make the time back but if it’s last lap like it happened to me early in the week when someone rammed me out from 2nd I’m just quitting, idc about the result at that point.
1 Mistake, don't battle a guy that was 20 seconds infront of you, when they come out the pit being 1 second infront of you. He's on a different race to you and could be Net winning while you're in 12th yet to pit. Pick your battles.
There is one big issue that is happening right now Gran Turismo is targeting UA-cam streamers kicking people out of daily races sending the ping up to 140 this needs to be fixed
@@artfull_dodger__ There will always be some dirty drivers in any race. The trick is to get a good start near the front of the grid and get clear of them. I'm C-S and get some good races.

Waiting in queue, conpeting agaisnt bunch of nerds that know how to adjudst every setting correctly, do qualifying and all this crap just to do like a 10 lap race when you can pick any track any race anda jump straight into it. Number 6: Dirty driving is necessary BUT NOT to be made a habit of, if someone’s dirty and is going to hinder your race pace just use there rear end as brakes, if your gunna be dirty/ revenge hit make sure u do it properly and send them to the shadow realm or they will come for revenge. If your literally never dirty people will take your kindness for weakness
Ah the standard methodology in GT7 - ram don’t race, push don’t pass - it’s been the same for years but Polyphony can’t engineer a decent proper penalty system as hiding underneath the flash graphics is a very very very very old game engine

Ego is a big reason why a lot of people can't reach that next level. Great vid, Rory.

How to avoid getting taken out of the race early? I cant raise my DR because of players ramming me on turn 1.
I find myself with a 3/4 seconds lead I can maintain to the last lap lol my subconscious takes over and I go slower 🤷♂️🤦♂️

Exactly, try to remember who is quicker and just let them by if you get mixed with them from a pit stop

I like rage quitters though. Gain easy positions that way!
🤣
I'm so inconsistent. Once I fix that I'll be good
Difficult to settle into a short lap race. I hate joining multiplayer races with 3 lap races. 5 at minimum in my opinion, 7 to 10 is better.

That happens a lot in the D races but if you can get into the C or better B races then more racers are clean.
