I went for my first time the other day and caught 11 keepers! It was in the sea in Cornwall
Lovely bait for the cod this winter
Aye definitely 👍
Nice fishing bro
Thanks
Good sport them mackerel
Yeah, great on light gear.
@@fishingintheukgarywood I go extreme light gear, a 7 ft Ron Thompson spinning rod with a medium sized penn reel and some feathers, the rod is bent clean in half but with good tension on the reel I've never broke a rod yet!!..🐟🐟
Great video mate been wanting to go pier fishing again haven’t done it for years what would you say is the best time to go
Thanks mate, usually 2 - 3 before high water.
Where is located?
whats your rod mate?
Gary just a quick question can you catch mackerel in the rain im thinking of going tomorrow afternoon and its going piss down lol just dont want to do all that traveling for nothing i live two hours away
I'm not sure Richard, if the rain is too heavy that might put them off because I don't think they like freshwater.
Right ok gary thanks I'll give it
a miss this time and wait until next week .when you out next ?
I'm going to try and get out at some point this week.
Another question lol sorry .can you catch mackerel when the tide is going out or does it not make a difference
Yes, you can usually catch them after high water when the tide is going out usually for a couple of hours.
what lure is best for mackrel??
I usually use the razorclaw silver minnow, but any shiny lure will catch mackerel.
Tried the fish quay nothing but a load of plastic bags and seaweed
I want out this morning i got 20 happy days
Excellent 👍
When you next out am going out on Saturday
@@Andrewnufc844 I'm not sure, just when I get some free time.
Can you have postcode ?
Yes It's NE33 2LD
Where is the enjoyment of the fight? you're using a heavy lure on a huge rod, reeling in at 100mph, ?
i would like to see you reel a full size mackerel 15ft up a pier wall on a light rod with a tiny lure and as for the speed you need to reel in fast or you risk getting snagged you seem like the type of person to catch a fish on light tackle just to play it to death then release it to die.
You’re assuming wrongly. And if you watch the video it’s plain to see that you don’t know what you’re talking about.
@@timalexander2184 i have fished for mackerel for over 30 years and all from this pier. Light gear loses time after time try making a video of you pulling up a 2lb mackerel up a 15ft pier and then say i'm wrong you will lose the fish time after time or play it to death prove me wrong and i will accept that i am wrong
