Respect to the towing crews who worked tirelessly in the rain without jackets. I hope none of them got sick from being soaking wet. Thankfully the MMDA have rainwear, perhaps a company will donate like they do with the helmet giveaways.
Contrary to popular belief, getting wet in the rain is completely harmless unless you pick up a virus or bacteria. But, yes its best if they have rain protection.

LGUs can simply enforce this. DILG needs to start filing against LGUs for allowing this to happen.
If people are actually obeying the law, there would be no need for more manpower and funds. Signs and markings should be enough.
They dont need more funds. The funds collected from tickets would be enough to cover salaries. If they had more man power, they can apprehend more vehicles and drivers

I always wear a helmet, I got into an accident once and it saved my life and my face from being destroyed.
We need a points system that will inhibit a license holder from renewing their license if they get a certain number of tickets per year. Changes need to be made because I feel like a lot of these people just keep getting tickets and are repeat offenders every week or month. People in the PH won't learn until you take things away from them. Driving or Riding and having a license is a privilege and not a right.
I agree on this. In some parts of Europe, they will punch a hole on your license for every violation you make, then if you accumulate a certain number of holes, your license will be revoked.

Here in Cagayan de Oro City there are quite a number of motorcycle riders who will mount the curb, use the sidewalk as an extension of the road (or as a parking space), honk at pedestrians and yell at them for "obstructing" their way. Happened to me twice and both honked then yelled at me, "Hoy! Bagal mong mag lakad dumadaan ako!" My tito who is a lawyer had a different experience, he was yelled at with a line that went, "Di mo ba alam ang Give Way Law?!"

Try crossing Mindanao ave, to the other side of that area. Almost all the side streets are already private parking lots. But having to pay php1k for a parking violation won't really do the trick. Unless you do it on a daily basis ( which we know is impossible )

I hope they visit inner streets here in Paco. Narrow 2 way road turned to "1 side parking" but turned into 2 sided parking includes sidewalks and intersection curbs. I won't report to the barangays because they are part of the problem.
Sometimes people don't wear their helmets in order for them to FLEX/Ipagyabang that they have motorcycle.. if you'll wear your helmet NO ONE would recognize you 😅

I like this videos, he is able to see what MMDA misses on their job. 8:25 shows they did not clear the plants that obstruct the sidewalk, even though its part of their job, (unless i'm wrong and thats not part of their job).

problema kasi minsan kung nasiraan ka sa daan tapus wala ka magawa kundi gumilid at minsan umusok para ayusin yung kotse mo, pero itong loko kita na nag rerepair ka, imbes na tulongan ka eh sisitahin ka pa. hindi naman kasalanan kung bigla masiraan sa daan. PS nanyare ito sa tatay ko na driver, nasiraan siya sa harap ng uni, sumabog yung gulong, eh wala siyang kasama yung mga naka tambay na traffic enforcer imbis na tumulong na itulak para maigilid yung kotse sila pa ang nagagalit at salita ng salita, at least meron mga uni student na tumulong at naipagilid yung kotse, na patagal pa tuloy yung mabilisan na pagpalit ng gulong :3

I've finally concluded the these violators are just oblivious, arrogant and inconsiderate. But at the same time, the policies are also wrong. The road design and traffic schemes are also messed up. All the all, everything is messed up from public to government departments that comes up with ridiculous rules and regulations.

What happens to towed away vehicles? Do they get auctioned if unclaimed for years?
They pretty much just rot into the ground.
But most vehicles are claimed back on the same day, or the next day.

Owners of offending vehicles pay fines but then where the fines go. Are they spent on improving the streets,building parking lots. Improving traffic signage?
Penalty payments are remitted to the national treasury. So eventually that money goes out to various government agencies, based on their approved budgets.

The thing is, it doesn't just affect the rider, if he smashes his head and dies.
What if you're the other motorist that was involved.in an accident with him? You'll be arrested for reckless imprudence, even though a helmet might have saved his life.
Aside from that, more likely it's shared resources, government resources, that will be used to assist a rider that has an accident.
Again, if he was wearing a helmet, there's a higher chance of him standing up and walking away with minor injuries, compared to not wearing a helmet.
Some LGUs have already started to pass ordinances that say they won't provide medical assistance to riders that have an accident without a helmet.

What happened to PRRD program to clear the sidewalks of all encroachments? Still too many extended structures. Those ramps should be removed repaired and charged to the property owner. They do it again, destroy it repair and charge them with added penalties.
I think it's fair to say that it's pretty much in the hands of the City.
If they want something cleared, it gets cleared.
But if they don't, no one can force it. Just look at what happened a few months ago. That point was proven very distinctly.

Like, if a motorcycle t-boned your car on an intersection because they disregarded the traffic sign, and the rider dies because the head was bashed in because they didn't wear a helmet, is it still your fault? I mean, sure you could be detained on the spot while they are investigating, but I don't think you should be held accountable for that. Or at least I hope not.

@@GadgetAddict Yeah, there are a lot dumb incidents that involves trucks. Most of it is not even the truck driver's fault. I just assumed they let the drivers go after they investigated the matters thoroughly and proved they were innocent.
