Happy World Goth Day!! Sorry we're a little late (it's still WGD in America though right....?) To celebrate here is a vlog fo our first ever time at the biggest goth festival in the world! Hope you all had an amazing day however you chose to spend it!
Thanks for sharing! First video I've seen from you guys, when I heard Rik Shaffer, I said to myself that's it - I have to subscribe! And then Karl Casey, you guys have some great taste in music. We're BBF's now, sorry not sorry! Thanks again for sharing, cheers!
You guys looked great but sad and drained from all the unexpected travel. That's a real life experience worth taping for the sake of others who don't realize the distance and magnitude of that amazing goth festival. Seeing a city full of goths was unreal and unexpected for sure! Thank you for all your hard work.
Honestly when I was editing I was going to try take out all the back and forthing and travel etc but like you said it's important for people to know what it's really like! Everyone's feet were in bits by Monday! A few regulars told us it's called "Treffen foot". The consequence of a 4 day festival in platform boots 😩
@@RandomGothCouple lol I wouldn't doubt that. I would've gone barefoot after three hours of walking. Hopefully you both had some really good insoles. Praise be the person who finally makes goth boots made for their long wear and extremel comfort.
First of all, I have to say, you both look incredible, but Connor, I love your haircut! And you really stepped up your eyeliner game for this. I'm impressed! Also, Lisa Frankenstein is such an underrated movie.
I guess we all made these experiences at WGT the first time thinking that we missed so much and that we were poorly organized. After decades of going there (this year was my 21st time) I can actually say: you'll get more relaxed, you cannot see everything, it's impossible and you'll focus on just a few highlights. A few advices: Always take your time to have pauses inbetween when you can just recharge your batteries and rest your body, all the wandering around and also standing in front of the stage the whole day is tiring as hell. I would also recommend to check out just a few locations that have a good lineup for the day and just stay there longer. It's almost always worth it getting to know new bands and it's part of the WGT experience. I actually saw you from inside the tram walking around at Augustusplatz and later again at the Agra. Maybe I'll be brave enough to say hi next time in the following years. Love your content, cheers, Tom
Honestly it made us feel better that after we talked to some friends there they all said the same thing. We kept saying oh next time we'll know more and be more prepared etc and they all said no it will always be like this! I do think if we went back we would just pick two venues a day and spend the afternoon at one and night time at the other and then change them every day. Seeing bands we don't know would be interesting and we'd get to see all the different venues. Sad we missed the hearse meet up at sudfriedhof too! No way! Next time definitely come say hi, we don't bite 🧛🏻♂️🧛🏻♀️
@@RandomGothCouple We saw the hearse ride from a restaurant window, they obviously moved around the whole city and were even escorted by police cars and bikes. There were so many really great looking ones, probably around 50 or so. I promise that next time I'll come up for a chat if I see you again. I hope you'll return, I will definitely be there for the next 100 years...
@@Reani71 I'm so sad we didn't get to see or do the hearse ride 😭 I think we definitely need to return next year and give it all another go! Hope to see you then 🖤🦇
@@RandomGothCouple I'm sure you'll get your chance next year. And since you don't know how I look it should be up to me to connect with you once I spotted you. Will do, promised. See you in Leipzig, guys 🖤
Lynn's advice at 31:14 was excellent, "Only pick a few things to see and do". And Conor's "Goth everywhere, normal people were the minority" made me smile. Glad you are both back, and safe. 🎩
Honestly I felt so underdressed here because people really go big with the looks!! Usually I'm the one that's overdressed 😂 So it was very interesting to see! I'm glad you liked my dresses! I tried my best to dress up as much as possible 🖤🦇🌹❤️-Lynn
Happy World Goth Day! I would have missed so many bands trying to see everything in the shops. It all looked so cool! Hope you both still had a good time!
What an amazing vlog, thank you for sharing your first WGT with us all 🖤And another huge thank you for being able to make it at the //BLACKBOOK show and at my birthday bash ;-)
You were one we definitely did not want to miss! (if you couldn't tell from our frantic dash to make it on time 😂) So glad we made it, you were fantastic! Looking forward to catching you again in future 🙏
Thanks for sharing your WGT experience! What i enjoy most about WGT is that you can have a complete different festival experience each year, cause there is so much going on. This year we took it slow, no bands, just enjoying the atmosphere, dining out at restaurants in full goth gear and dancing in the evening away. The year before first two days concerts, last two days museums and the opera. I am going to WGT for many years, hope to see you here in Leipzig again next year!
Happy World Goth Day to you both and to everyone else! I hope you guys have an awesome time celebrating and making new happy memories. Sending out love! 🖤🕸🕷🦇
so surreal to not only see myself in one of these clips but also to have been able to meet you guys(last day at the moritzbastei)! you two were so sweet and i hope you had a nice and relaxed trip back home. we all learn a lot from the first WGT, and hopefully if you guys do come again next year you’ll have more of a chance to see the bands you enjoy :)
Oh yeah, taking travel time into consideration is definitely key at WGT! Especially going to and from Agra since that's kinda far away, plus when you go to some venues you'll be waiting in line for quite a while. Hope to see you there next year as well, and that you can get more out of it that time!
I’m just glad you guys exist. I’m so pleased. Congrats on a fun time and I’m looking forward to more from you guys! You’re great! And I’m living vicariously in this video.
Goth Day wtf??? So glad I turned 15 in 1980 when the lowest common casual person would rather be dead than be involved with us. Look at all the casuals at this thing, goth off the rack made in China. What a joke. It would be sad to see how all OUR scenes have been hijacked if it was not so cringy and funny.
Thanks for a nice video! I got a nostalgic trip back to my first WGT many years ago, it is a totally overwhelming experience! The first years I tried to tick of a list of maybe 10-15 bands. Nowadays it might be just one or two, and for the rest mostly meet friends and relax. Leipzig is a beautiful town with lots of green areas.
What I learned today about the WGT. Its gotten so big that you have to plan a visit like a military campaign. I need a black scratch plate for my Rickenbacker. Chips are the cornerstone of your diet whilst there. I would have loved to see Ladytron.... If I can find a babysitter for my evil dog I will be there next year.
I don’t know anything about modern goth culture but you made me want to attend this festival and now subscribed- bloody awesome video and lovely atmosphere- and you both looked gloriously gorgeous and seem like wonderful cool people 🖤
Really enjoyed this and your other videos. Next year join the Sadgoth meet up on Thursday night, lots of experience and newbie arrivals .. great place for tips. Yes you did miss some great venues ...Taubchental particularly.
This video made us so happy! My husband and I went to WGT in 2019 And we are so happy to see that it is live and well, and just as chaotic, now (after the pandemic scoured the Earth) 🖤🖤🖤 Thank you, thank you thank you for this video. It brought back so many memories. We're happy to see that you guys had a great time Even though you couldn't go everywhere and see everyone wanted to
Trying to shoot youtube videos in places that you have never been is totally the definition of chaos, we found the same thing at M'era Luna last year and that was so much more compact and easier to get around! Nothing like having your head on a swivel trying to stuff the quickest food possible into your starving face while juggling all the equipment 🤣Fingers crossed you guys make it back next year and get to see some of things you missed!
Thank you so much! It was great to meet you too 🖤 It's definitely hard to switch between all of the locations! The Moritzbastei is definitely worth checking out! We look forward to seeing your video 🖤🦇✨
😅Typical first time WGT experience. Ask 20 people and they all experienced a completely different festival. You learn over time that it is best to stay at one location or travel between locations that are close to each other. So planning is everything. I can really recommend the dark romantic dance at the castle near Agra if they do it next year again. That was really special. And if you are into goth rock and post-punk, check out the When We Were Young party.
I really appreciate the reality from you guys, the reality of everything looking perfect at the start, and as time goes by our makeup starts to fail us and our hair begins to misbehave. Sorry you had to travel so much, but glad you had a great time all the same. Cheers for the video!
Guys, not sure why this popped up on my feed, but I enjoyed it! You looked like you had fun! So what you didn’t do everything. You’re there, and you brought us with you. Looked like fun! Just made a new subscriber. 🙋🏾♀️
So happy for you that you got to have this experience 😊. I looked like so much fun. Maybe someday I’ll get to go. I’m in America and have been desiring to go for years. We will see if it’s in the cards for me. Take care you two 💜🦇
Oh it’s been months since I’ve seen any of your videos. You guys look lovely for the Victorian park. The fire show was really really cool. Omg you guys saw diva destruction live!! I really enjoy their music so much. And I would love to see merciful nuns so thank you for adding them in the video!! That Victorian store was wonderful!!! Absolutely wonderful. I’ll def be checking them out and seeing what I can find. Your guys did a really good job at your first WGT. I’m glad you winged it so now you know next time what to do. Thanks for taking us with you guys 🖤🦇!!
Happy World Goth Day! You did fine for your first time there!!!! I made the same kind of mistakes the first time I went to New Orleans. This October, I have a streamlined plan with plenty of backup activities! Big events are HARD!!!!❤
You both looked great, if a little travel-weary. Thanks so much for filming this, it looks fantastic! I'd need at least a whole week to explore everything
I absolutely love the looks you are both giving! Having been to Leipzig outside of this festival I can easily imagine how all over the place and disconnected certain parts may be from one another. Either way I have never heard of WGT before so I will definitely have to give it a check! Thanks for feeling out the waters and bringing this to my attention 🤘🏻
I hope this song will stay in our hearts!!! I hope the younger ppl will respect and respond to this awsome relic of a song!!! Today's the day to realize, there's no turning back!!!
*I loved the vlog!!!* *1) Apparently the festival is decentralized and this can be tiring as you have to move around a lot and choose what you really want to see...* *2) You are cute couple 🖤.* *3) I loved the heart-shaped glasses...*
Hope you had a great World Goth Day... and you looked awesome. Would love go to WGT too. And guess I should deal with same struggles. Cause I already know everything is all over Leipzig and not just one area. Thanks for sharing your first experience of this big Goth Festival. Have a great weekend Lynn and Conor 🦇🖤🖤🖤🖤🦇
Hello, Connor and Lynn, the Goth Couple, I wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed your video. I stumbled upon it while watching Black Friday and was intrigued by how much fun you both had throughout the day. I've subscribed to your channel. Go raibh maith agat! 🖤
belated happy World Goth Day to the both of you! as much as I would love to go to WGT, I doubt that I could make it through the entire event. It still looks like you had a wonderful time! Much love to the both of you from Pittsburgh, PA!
Omg ao cool. Happy to experience this thru your guys perspective and not tired. Festivals really take it out of you. Its so hard not to want to buy all the things
The video took me back 11 years to my first WGT. It was exactly the same experience for me and I think everyone has the same experience as you at their first WGT hahaha. I look forward to seeing you here again next year. Hopefully I'll see you then too :)
Great video! Both of you looked absolutely stunning! Unfortunately I couldn't afford a ticket to WGT this year. I only checked out the "Dark Affair" and went to some of the free events of WGT. I would have loved to see Diva Destruction! I love their music! How did you like your first WGT? Are you going to be there again next year?
Very interesting and so much to see and do. I sat in the dark wearing black, watching about some place I will never see in person. Hope you have some great memories and new tshirts to enjoy.
If you haven't heard of ladytron, you should have stayed for ladytron. They're not really "goth" per say but they're amazing electro pop with some dark elements
Was at the WGT for the first time in 2004, so my 20th anniversary. But it's always nice to see people who are there for the first time and experience this dark and colorful world.
Love Wave Gotik Treffen. This year was my 17. I think. And I remember how lost I was the first few times. I wanted to see Gvllow too, but we decided to just stay at Täubchenthal, and see Principe Valiente, Rose of Avalanche, Theatre of Hate and Christian Death and it is my favourite location. I was at the Pagan Village on Monday - wanted to see two bands there and stayed because it was so chill and nice. I love WGT, because I always discover great new bands there. And it is different every time. We once saw a band in the cellar of a very old building. We thought, we were at the wrong place, but it was the right one and an awesome experience. The man in the bushes is Noctulus btw - I think he is there since the beginning
Lynn should have a photo shoot! Looks Amazing always...like the chill day on day 2 and the change of looks! You 2 are Great artists'...Hair looks great!!! Had to edit! Love that type-o shirt!😂
GHASTLY GOTH DAY🧛♀️! You guys look amazing! This is in my bucket list! I can’t imagine the awesome shopping!! Definitely on y bucket list just to shop there! Omg I lovvve Lady tron! Did you get to see them?
Its cool to see you have so mutch Fun at Leipzigs WGT for a this long Time. Im from Leipzig and im also very familiar with the Gothic Ways. A Friend of mine had an Electro Band with Singer and the played also some years at the WGT (the Band is: Ilusion of Light) And i also was included at the WGT for many Years, because i was Part of the Crew of an Suport Event, called Gothic Crist at the Peters Chirch
Such a cool vlog! Wow WGT really is a HUGE festival :) you guys did a great job capturing it and ye look amazing too 🖤 hope ye aren’t too shattered after all that ahaha :)
The way i used to plan my wgt days was look at the timetable, pick the bands you specially want to see. (Choices will have to be made at this point) On the actual day, choose 1 musiclocation to start, and only switch over to 1 other music location and stay there. Travelling between locations will cost way too much time, so try to avoid it as much as possible. Shopping, "sightseeing" etc are best to be done before you start the music part of the day. And then after everything just go for the moritz bastei afterparties.
Could not believe how quick you brought outbthis video after the whole journey and experience! Well done for that, I am aaaaaalways looking forward to your videos! And a hole city being the festival is quiet a challenges to manage as a guest I can totally imagen and it would overwhelme me so much, haha. Like you said at the end, having a few fix points you defently want to see/be there and then the rest is a bonus sounds good, it is impossible to see everything cause of the size. You where part of it! Thats the best and if course that you shared it with us🫶🏻🦇🖤
Thank you so much! Every night we got back to the hotel I copied the footage over to my laptop and dropped it into the project so that once we were getting the trains and flights home I could just open my laptop and start! As soon as we arrived back home I just edited for 24 hours straight! Glad you enjoyed it! 🦇
Thanks for the review. I am from Russia and really dream of going to this festival. I found out about it around 2005 and have been tearing up reviews ever since. But I hope to visit someday.
I'm very late but Happy World Goth Day! you both look incredible! I'm so jealous watching this because one of my favourite bands (Agent Side Grinder) were performing there haha, I hope you both had fun despite all that went wrong!🦇
Despite missing a lot of the bands it still looks like a great time. I’ll love to go even if I just had time to look at the shops. 😂. Thanks for sharing! 🖤🦇🌙🪦
Yeah it's because it's so big and there's so much to do but we are determined to go back and plan it out and get more done 😂😂We definitely recommend going but the first time can be hard but next time we will plan more and have an idea of what to expect
22:00 omg I totally missed that spot )): it looks so cool, hope I can go next year again for the third time. Also I've never heard of Blackbook before but now I love them or at least some of their songs
Late greetings. I think I saw you in Arga and you two looked great! My first WGT were also super stressed - plan to see way too many 😂BTW, (late) happy world goth day!
I saw u walking by one day. U both looked fantastic. Yeah WGT is always very busy. Best way is always to stay in at least 2 locations. Plan one day for the pagan village. Just to chill there. Really great Atmosphere there. And I love the Absinth slushies there haha
I can relate to the fleeing that you missed out on a lot of things, but I think that's normal, there's just so much going, you're going to get loads of FOMO. I had it every year I went :o

Havent been there for ages but watching you two walking around feels like coming home.
Glad we could help you feel like you're there!
You both looked great, if a little travel-weary. Thanks so much for filming this, it looks fantastic! I'd need at least a whole week to explore everything
😊 you guys are a beautiful couple thank you for sharing your experience with us
Happy goth day! 🖤 both look dead awesome.
*I loved the vlog!!!*
*1) Apparently the festival is decentralized and this can be tiring as you have to move around a lot and choose what you really want to see...*
*2) You are cute couple 🖤.*
*3) I loved the heart-shaped glasses...*
It’s cool you looked at steampunk art.
Disaster aside, this still seemed like an amazing festival. I'll definitely try to go there once
I love your guys outfits!!!!!!!!!
Love your outfits, and what an amazing festival!
But it's always nice to see people who are there for the first time and experience this dark and colorful world.
i'm a bit late but happy world goth day! you both looked great for the festival, hope it was a fun time :)
Awesome vlog. Thanks 🦇🖤🦇
Lynn should have a photo shoot!
Looks Amazing always...like the chill day on day 2 and the change of looks!
You 2 are Great artists'...Hair looks great!!!
Had to edit!
Love that type-o shirt!😂
Very Cool. I love Steampunk, too. Thanks for this.
Happy Happy. Love the video. This would be such a fun trip
Guys, you look amazing! ❤
Thank you so much 🧛🏻♀️🧛🏻♂️
GHASTLY GOTH DAY🧛♀️! You guys look amazing! This is in my bucket list! I can’t imagine the awesome shopping!! Definitely on y bucket list just to shop there! Omg I lovvve Lady tron! Did you get to see them?
I am so excited you went! Been waiting for this vlog
Its cool to see you have so mutch Fun at Leipzigs WGT for a this long Time.
Im from Leipzig and im also very familiar with the Gothic Ways.
A Friend of mine had an Electro Band with Singer and the played also some years at the WGT (the Band is: Ilusion of Light)
And i also was included at the WGT for many Years, because i was Part of the Crew of an Suport Event, called Gothic Crist at the Peters Chirch
Such a cool vlog! Wow WGT really is a HUGE festival :) you guys did a great job capturing it and ye look amazing too 🖤 hope ye aren’t too shattered after all that ahaha :)
I went to WGT back in 2007. Cool to see the guy playing outside is still there.
The way i used to plan my wgt days was look at the timetable, pick the bands you specially want to see. (Choices will have to be made at this point)
On the actual day, choose 1 musiclocation to start, and only switch over to 1 other music location and stay there. Travelling between locations will cost way too much time, so try to avoid it as much as possible. Shopping, "sightseeing" etc are best to be done before you start the music part of the day.
And then after everything just go for the moritz bastei afterparties.
I managed to see exactly ONE band this year! ; D not too bad for my usual scedule ^^
Loved this video thanks for sharing ❤
Despite missing a lot of the bands it still looks like a great time. I’ll love to go even if I just had time to look at the shops. 😂. Thanks for sharing! 🖤🦇🌙🪦
Compared to the other big scene festivals like Mera Luna or Amphi this seems so stressful haha...gonna try it out one day myself
Have a miserable Goth day.😁🖤 l really enjoy your videos, The festival looks really cool, I would love to go
Unhappy Goth Day to you too! We are so glad you enjoy them! 🖤🦇🦇🦇
@@RandomGothCouple thank you for the reply 👻
@@RandomGothCoupleYou look miserable! :)
Great sound on the live music, wish my phone sounded that good when recording live music.
Late greetings. I think I saw you in Arga and you two looked great! My first WGT were also super stressed - plan to see way too many 😂BTW, (late) happy world goth day!
Hell yeah this was awesome! Wish we had stuff like this in the states 😩
Amazing vídeo. Thanks
Great video thank you 🤩 happy World Goth Day
I saw u walking by one day.
Hi guys! I'm going to the Gothic Picnic in Dublin this Saturday and I was wondering if I will be able to spot you guys somewhere there?
you summed it up so well, such a blast
Glad to hear that! Honestly was worried we didn't show off enough but after speaking to regular attendees they said we got more done than most 😅 thank you!
